(5) Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming.

(7) In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

(11) Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

(15) And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
(17) And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Col 3:5-17 ESV

Surely he is just sharing Scripture with us and not cherry picking verses to promote a works based salvation.

Here's some verses for all to ponder...

1 Corinthians 6:11
And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Ephesians 1:6-7
to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One.
7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

If this was true, you believe all children of god are victorious, and could never fail

lets not forget where our victory comes from not from self. And who overcomes? WHATEVER is born of god.ie there is no failure for this BORN OF GOD

1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Bible teaches a works based salvation then. Everything he quoted is from the Scriptures.

The Bible mentions over and over about keeping the commandments, living Holy yet we are just told not of works and that mantra has destroyed an entire generation and now the Church is largely a joke and no one takes it seriously, it is equivelant to a social club with religious slang.

I know the game plan is to preach disobedience unto salvation, then claim you are not doing so and when confronted with Scripture you revert to "Those texts are descriptive of a true believer". Then if we agree with that and say a true believer must bear fruit, you will again flip on the antinomian switch and claim we are preaching works salvation or Calvinism. It just does not work unless it is the "Jesus paid it all, so I can sin some more" message. That is the best one going. I can love the world, I can sin and God will just take me home early, which is the opposite of what grace actually is. Grace is teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. No luke warm commitment to Christ will do.

And when I say that you would say I do not understand grace, no true believer would think that way, we have heard it all before. All I need to do is look at the state of these Churches today that are in free fall apostasy and rife with sin disobedience and every scandal under the sun to conclude that the fruit of "Come as you are" has been rotten to the core. Bible teaches repentance, not come as you are and God will clean you up later, that sounds great but when does this cleansing happen? Never. The Church will put you on a program and God will make you sin less and less and eventually you will get the victory, but that is not biblical salvation, nor did the Apostles teach that and that is why we got evil men in the Churches preying on people, because they know Church goers are gullible and will believe anyone who names the name of Jesus.

There is only one way possible the Bible teaches works. That was is if he law could bring one to salvation by how good they are

the law teaches no one is righteous, no not one.

It teaches all hve sinned and fall short

The law teaches there isONE way at redemption. That way is via the shedding of blood. Even hebrews admits, without the shedding of blood, there is no remission.

The law teaches there is only one sacrifice which is valid. The lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

It does nto teach any other way to salvation.

You want to try to work to earn salvation. Good luck. But know this, YOU WILL FAIL.

Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God's grace, which was given me by the working of his power. To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, so that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being.

So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Eph 3:7-19 ESV

So his works based self righteous gospel is ok?

this is sad!

Do you even realize that those these workers are attacking preach obedience? Preach discipleship. Preach that works are a result of faith?

what your saying is it is perfectly ok for people like PS And turtle here to falsely accuse others. In order to promote their belief system.

Thats sadder yet!

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. Jas 1:26-27 KJV

Your conscience will bear witness, either accusing you or excusing you. Romans 2v15.

Irrespective of the argumentation here and on these forums, there will be no getting away from the above fact. If you think OSAS will save you, your conscience will bear witness to this. So for example, if you believe in OSAS yet continue in willfull sin, the conscience of this person will always be a nagging factor. Inherently sin is contrary to the nature of God's own people, and repentance flows out of conviction.

Lest you have your consciences seared (1 Tim 4v2), a very dangerous place to be.

You and paul do not teach the same gospel my friend.
Therefore, beloved, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters.

There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.

You therefore, beloved, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

I knew it, Your just another one

1 John 3. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

My conscious s fine. Because I am not only saved by God. I am also being sanctified by God through discipleship.

John said a man of God can not live in sin, So like your brothers you now call God a liar.

And your slander And li against me and my faith is once again Noted

Your misapplication of scripture will not help you

Just like you do in every thread. you refuse to admit your own issues, and continue to lead yourself down even further.

But hey, Continue to excuse your sin man. Your blood is on your own hands.

These are some good verses. What is the point you are seeking to make in quoting these verses from Colossians? What stands out to you from this text of Scripture?
