I know the feeling, it seemed like just yesterday I turned 50, last month I turned 56, where did the time go.
I'm 53, with 3 kids....two aged 20 and 15 from my first marriage, and a 6 year old with my wife now. I find seeing the world through my little guy's eyes helps slow time down.

When a 5 year old is told "maybe next year", that a full 20% of his/her entire time on this planet, if you consider long term memory as firmly taking root around three years of age, then a year is fully 33% of their remembered experience. Now at 53 if someone says 'maybe next year' I think...meh, so what....I've had 53 years already, that's less than 2% of my time here.

There are so many parodoxes in life....my six year old has no patience (I had none at the same age) while I have much more. But logically shouldn't the one who, in all likelihood has another 75 or so years of life in this world....the one with the most time ahead of them should have the patience, while the oldsters like me who'll be going to our reward in another 10, 15, 25, 30 or so years...we should be the impatient ones, especially when the last 10 or so years of this life can be so limiting....

One phone on the wall in the kitchen, the cord would stretch half across the entire house.
I remember those. Going down in the basement with the kitchen phone to talk to friends in private. Right, follow the cord, there's no privacy. :giggle:

Hey, at least there are still toasters! Those haven't gone out of style. Not as long as Eggo commercials are popular.

Well I guess I can join this thread. I am 73 and I think only JaumeJ is older than me here. Not by too much though. I am a great grandparent 5 times over. With all my grandchildren grown, I call my great gg-babies my grandbabies. They like having me around, and even though my life is very painful it is worth it. 5thumbsup.gif

Speaking of toasters, the one I have has to be over 30 years old. It still works find, no need to change.

The Lord spared us!! Thanks for the prayer.
Congratulations! I saw this in my news feed :)

Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Conservative Party
won a commanding majority in the British Parliament.
Yes!! Boris and the Conservatives won a majority of 80 seats. The Labour opposition won the lowest number of seats (202) since
1935. A trade deal with the US will probably be negotiated in the new year Jeremy Corbyn the opposition leader has stated he will resign in the New Year.

I heard a psychologist once say that half our lives are over by age 8.

At least that's how time appears to move for us. I can remember as a kid it being a week to Christmas, and that week literally felt like 3 months!

Christmas was like the boss of both 4th of July and Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day and everything really when I was six years old😁.
