John 8:49-58 New International Version (NIV)
49 “I am not possessed by a demon,” said Jesus, “but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. 50 I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. 51 Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.”

52 At this they exclaimed, “Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that whoever obeys your word will never taste death. 53 Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you think you are?”

54 Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55 Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and obey his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”

57 “You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”

58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

59 At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

Jesus admitting his eternal nature and claiming the same name I am from God speaking to Moses.

Obviously by their reaction they understood what he had said.

"Before Abraham was I am"

Jesus is saying the he existed before Abraham was every born. Jesus did not use the words "ehyeh asher ehyeh" I Am that I Am", nor YHVH. He did not use the divine names for God. He did not say he was God.

The Father is God alone. Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Father to whom God gave all power and authority. The Father and Son exist in unity, but the Father alone is God.

I am very familiar with all the passages you use to make the case for a Trinity. I am not going to discuss the list of them. If anyone wants to challenge their interpretations you can go to 21 Century Reformation web site. But I expect that no one wants to.

This was neither the time nor the place for Christ to present His deity to the Jews. But that does not mean that He did not do so at other times and other places. Are you familiar with those incidents?

And yet the majority of Jews rejected their own Messiah. So what does that tell you? And they also killed and persecuted the prophets and apostles who wrote the Bible. So what does that tell you?

But He did say so in Matthew 28:19: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son [JESUS], and of the Holy Ghost:

As a matter of fact, all the apostles were Jews and they all believed that Jesus is God. He himself said that He is the "I AM" of the Old Testament (and God calls Himself I am). The New Testament is full of passages which clearly state that Jesus is God. That already makes two persons of the Trinity. And there are others passages which say that the Holy Spirit is God.

UNLESS YOU BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS GOD, YOU WILL DIE IN YOUR SINS. That is exactly what He said.

You just told me:
"UNLESS YOU BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS GOD, YOU WILL DIE IN YOUR SINS. That is exactly what He said."

Jesus did NOT say he was "God". You cannot find the words "I am God". Peter said that Jesus was the Messiah the Son of God. Upon that rock Jesus built his ministry.

If you're going to send me to hell for not accepting the Catholic Trinity, get your facts right.

MY STORY
When I could not find the Trinity in the Bible I told my church, and they told me that I was going to hell unless I accepted the Trinity. I spent 8 years doing my best to believe in the Trinity. But the Bible and my Father God would not let me do it. And so I was kicked out of my church, and shunned like a leper. It is hard to stand on a conviction when you have heard from God but have to stand alone in a small fundamentalist town. I lived on the edge of suicide for a few years, thinking I was the only one.

Some toxic things are said on this site about the Jews. Some are good, some are bad. But the entire Bible was written by good Jews. My references are to the early Christians who were Jews, the children of Jesus' family and the disciples and the generations that followed them in spite of executions by the Roman Church.

The original Gospels written in Hebrew the "Holy Language" have just been found, against all odds from the Roman Church having attempted to burn every copy of them. They validate what I have heard the Bible saying.

I am very confident in my Father YHVH and His Son Jesus, my brother and Savior. I am one with them as they are one with each other.

People on this site can condemn me to hell as much as they want. This is getting too threatening and toxic for me.

I have spent a lot of time trying to write replies, but I am not figuring out how to enter them and it's not working.

Anyway, two people have condemned me to hell today and I'm not going to make myself vulnerable to any more of it.

Jesus did NOT say he was "God". You cannot find the words "I am God". Peter said that Jesus was the Messiah the Son of God. Upon that rock Jesus built his ministry.
He is what Jesus has to say about himself in Rev 1:8ff. He applies four divine titles to himself. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End..., who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.... I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore." You are correct that Jesus never saig the words "I am God," but the apostles under the direction of the Holy Spirit call him God and the Father himself calls him God in Hebrews 1:8. Just how much testimony from scripture do you need?

1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him.

Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

The Bible only attributes the Father as being God.

If they say the trinity is co-equal how do they escape the Father is above all.

Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Mic 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting(no beginning).

There was no God formed after God and Jesus is God manifest in the flesh so He cannot be a created God, and would have no beginning.

But why would He be called God the Son if He has no beginning for then He would have no Father.

Rom 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
Rom 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.

Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

But if the Son is the man Christ Jesus it makes sense for He would have a beginning and the Father would be greater than Him.

Isa 52:5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.
Isa 52:6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

Joh 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.

God said in the Old Testament that He would reveal a new name to the Jews and speak to them, which Jesus told Philip if he has seen Him then he has seen the Father, and the words that He speaks are not His own, but the Father that dwells in Him, He does the works.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Then Jesus tells them He is the Spirit that is dwelling with them, and shall come to them, and be in them.

Joh 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Jesus told the disciples not to ask Him for anything but only ask the Father and He will do it.

But in another passage of scripture Jesus told the disciples to ask Him and He will do it.

On earth they dealt with Jesus according to His humanity, the Son, but when He resurrects to heaven they will deal with Jesus as God, and Jesus said only ask the Father for there is only one God the Father.

There is only one God who is a Holy Spirit, and that is why the Spirit moved in creation, and Jesus was conceived by the Spirit, and the Spirit dwells in the saints, and Father is a title for God, and the Son is the man Christ Jesus.

Not 3 persons in one God but the 3 relationships God has with His people designated by titles.

Father- Creator, and parent of the saints, which the Father is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Son- God's visible relationship to the saints, and the way He redeemed them reconciling the world unto Himself in the person of Jesus Christ, God and man in harmony, and God in visible activity.

Holy Spirit- God's invisible relationship to the saints, and regenerates them, and power to overcome the flesh, and the attributes of God, peace, love, and joy, and God in spiritual activity.

They say there is 3 persons in one God because they cannot avoid the Bible saying one God, and then they say God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, which then they are saying there is 3 Gods.

The Bible means one God when it states one God.

Continued,

Also if they use these things to support a trinity it does not support a trinity.

1. Let us make man in our image.

Adam was made in the image of God.

The New Testament says Adam was made in the figure of Him to come who is Jesus.

The image of God is the image of Christ.

God calls things that have not happened yet, as though they already happened, which the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world, and the prophets blood shed from the foundation of the world, and all the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

So the Son, the man Christ Jesus, can be considered in the beginning before He is born.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word with God, and the Word was God.

In the beginning was the plan of God to come in the future in flesh, and that plan was with God before He laid down the foundation of the world, and that plan was God manifest in flesh.

God had the plan to come in the future in flesh before He laid down the foundation of the world, and created Adam in that image an innocent nature in flesh.

So the let us create man in our image has to include the man Christ Jesus for He is part of that image.

Let us make man in our image is God and the man Christ Jesus a prophetic statement to the coming Son of God.

2. Baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Baptize in the name, singular not plural, and those are not names but titles.

Peter said baptize in Jesus' name, and Jews, Samaritans, and Gentiles were all baptized in the name of Jesus, and those baptized unto John's baptism had to be baptized in the name of Jesus.

The name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is Jesus, and Jesus created all things, came in flesh, and dwells in the saints, and Jesus has a name that is above all names, not only on this world but in the world to come.

Jesus said He came in His Father's name, manifested the Father's name, and declared the Father's name.

In Proverbs 30 the prophet Agur asked what is God's name, and what is His Son's name if you can tell, which means they would both share the same name in the future for the Jews already knew the name Jehovah.

The Father's name is Jesus.

The angel told Mary that her Son shall be called Jesus.

Hebrews 1 says that the Son inherited the name Jesus from His Father.

John 14 says the Holy Spirit comes in the name of Jesus, like Jesus came in the name of the Father which is Jesus.

Some people fail to understand Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and try to make a trinity out of them, but they are titles for the one true God with no distinction of persons.

They say there is 3 persons in one God, and then say God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, which then they are saying there is 3 Gods.

3. Jesus is at the right hand of God.

There is only one throne in heaven and one who sits on it, which is the throne of God and the Lamb, God in the glorified body of the man Christ Jesus.

There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, which the man Christ Jesus is our Savior for only a sinless man can approach a holy God and mediate for the world, which no man is sinless so God manifest Himself in the flesh and reconciled the world unto Himself in the person of Jesus Christ, God and man in harmony.

Jesus said all power was given unto Him in heaven and earth.

God's right hand represents power, wisdom, and salvation.

David said the LORD said unto my Lord sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.

For the Son must reign until all His enemies are conquered, and when they are conquered the Son shall submit to God the Father that God may be all in all.

So the Son at the right hand of God is a temporary role.

Which God the Father exalted the man Christ Jesus to exercise the throne of power, be at His right hand until His enemies are conquered, and when they are conquered the Son shall cease being at the right hand that God may be all in all.

Which God is ruling through the man Christ Jesus for the sake of the saints for He is the mediator between God and men, and when the saints are with Jesus and His enemies conquered the Son does not have to exercise the throne of power and be the mediator anymore.

So Jesus at the right hand of God is a temporary role, and Jesus is not on a throne next to the Father.

So if they use Let us make man in our image, or baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and Jesus is at the right hand of God it does not pan out and can be explained that it does not mean what they think it means.

There is only one God who is a Holy Spirit, and Father is a title for God, and the Son is the man Christ Jesus.

The Roman Catholic Church made the trinity popular for their foundation is pagan, and the occult, and when the Protestants protested it appears that they did not protest enough but held unto the trinity belief.

But I understand why people do not want to abandon a trinity belief for that is what they have been taught and it sounds right to them, and they do not want to offend God if they go against it, but there is no trinity.

But what Joseph Smith believed seemed right to him, and what Jehovah's witnesses believe sound right to them, and the same with the new age movement, and Christian Science, and Scientology, and the Catholic Church, and all the others that believe what they believe of the Bible is true but is not true.

Because a lot of people lay a foundation for people and it is the first thing they hear so they believe it and it can make some sense, and when confronted with the truth they go against it.

But the Bible plainly states that there is one God, and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all, so what are you going to do with that.

Thank you, Matt, for sharing your perspectives in a positive way.

Others have threatened me that if I don't worship the Trinity, the Trinity will burn me in hell; as if threatening me to worship the Trinity would make me want to worship the Trinity. And all this is supposed to be in the Bible?

I asked to be removed from this web site. Best wishes for your survival. When the end comes this army of people is going to be tough to handle. My eyes are wide open now. I see what is happening.

Thank you for your ideas, especially the Greek lesson. I did write you an indepth thoughtful reply. But I goofed up on sending it, and it got deleted.

I know all the passages used to support the Doctrine of the Trinity. I used to teach it. I believe that Trinitarians are twisting the translations and meanings to make their cases, as they believe I am doing. There is really not much use in confronting each other.

If someone is searching to challenge what they have been taught, there are great Christian scholars on sites like 21st Century Reformation.com There are many mature Christian pastors from many denominations who became so intimate with the scriptures, and with God, that they came to believe that the Trinity came from Rome, not from Jesus. Right or wrong, you will be hearing more from this growing group of well-intended truth seekers.

I'm happy that you were not putting a biblical curse on me. Others have done that.

To the people who condemned me to hell (for hearing Jesus differently than you)

America is full of toxic anger and stress right now. Neighbor against neighbor. Depression and suicides are at an all time high, especially among youth.

Some say the political climate is to blame. Some say it is because people spend so much time on impersonal websites, where there is so much accusation and venting of anger.

MY QUESTION to those who use this site to condemn me:

Can you spend 2 minutes with real live people in a real church? If you do, can you threaten them there?
Or is this electronic chat site your church, where you can tell them that your God will destroy them?

Well, I hope I never meet "your" God.

And who would want to be a Christian? The secular world is more loving.

Yes, I deny that God is three persons. "Holy Trinity" and the "Mystery of the Trinity" are not in the Bible.
God is 7 as indicated three times in Revelation "...the seven spirits of God...", but all 7 beings can act as a single being or one. The Lord God is 3 as Revelation indicates. "I am the Alpha & Omega (Father), the First & Last (Son), the Beginning & End (Holy Spirit)" but God is 7.

Disclaimer: the first image is an image explaining a Yogis explanation derived from a Hindu belief of using meditation to connect themselves to nature and the Gods. But in this thread I will not be supporting Hinduism, Yoga, or etc. But will be showing a parallel in a truth out of both images.

Explanation:
Mind, body, soul as in a human. Humans are material vessels living in the environment of a material realm. A yogi will try to connect to the inner middle grounding but in a similar sense our inner grounding that brings sincerity or peace can only be in the Spirit of God.

The trinity of God is in many ways connected to our trinitarian creation of mind, body, soul. The only way we live is by God animating our bodies through his breath of life.

Job 27:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 as long as I have life within me,
the breath of God in my nostrils,

We are told to love God with all 3 also

Mark 12:30 New International Version (NIV)
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Heart" (Hebrew lebab/leb [b'bel], Gk. kardia [kardiva]) occurs over one thousand times in the Bible, making it the most common anthropological term in the Scripture. It denotes a person's center for both physical and emotional-intellectual-moral activities; sometimes it is used figuratively for any inaccessible thing.

Heart (body), soul, mind.

For the Christian, God lives in us through the Spirit. So we are united in Chist and through justification become like Christ until his work is complete in us.

If we intertwine these triangles so that all are connected but all are still uniquely separated we get the symbol below.

The Star of David appears in the oldest complete copy of the Hebrew Bible, known as The Leningrad Codex, dated 1008

The star of David also known as the shield of David reminds us of God's plan that came through David, how God protects Israel and His people, and how thankful that gentiles was grafted into the same promise given to Abraham unto David and unto Jesus.

So mind, body, soul is 3 distinct sources that can be hurt by sin. If we are not centered in Christ then any of these 3 can be off balance. Mind can experience mental illness, body can experience sickness, and soul can ultimately be destroyed if one remains in the off centered state of being. After all the road to Heaven is narrow and we do not have much room to wander off. But the road to Hell is wide, wide enough to catch all the wanderers.
So I think a moderator deleted my image of the trinity as mind, body, soul. So my post could be hard to understand. This wasn't to debate the trinity doctrine. But only to connect how our trinitarian creation of mind, body, soul is connected to the trinity of Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Our souls are affected by the spiritual and once a Christian then we are connected through the reconciliation of Christ and the giving of the Holy Spirit.
