they always tell us how bad life was in the past and how great it is now. how short life expectancy was then etc.

but was it really that bad in medievil times? i dont believe it. i think its just propaganda sold to us. even in the bible people lived long. apostle john lived to his 90s

its not that bad i believe in the past. some things were better, some were worse. it also depends on where you live at the time (war etc). what you guys think?

The only heresy is arguing against eternal security and the dual application of sanctification. @EleventhHour was not defending a live as you please gospel, but rather the position of eternal security which you either believe or not! David committed a premeditated murder for the sake of sex, adultry and an accidental pregnancy from having sex with Bathsheba and URIAH even carried his own death senentence to the front lines....YET David remained a Saved child of God and paid the price PHYSICALLY for his sin, was chastened by GOD, and God only whips children NOT BASTARDS......so.....what fruit is born by those that or the ones that do no work

a. Have all their works burnt by fire yet are saved so as by fire

b. To the ones that WORK NOT, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited to righteeousness.

For the record....I could care less what the REFORMED believe and or peddle....they do NOT SET the standard for biblical truth....the bible does.....and if anything, by the response of the false teacher....you empowered them by your stance against the point Eleventh was making....NOT THAT WE CAN SIN LIKE HELL because we are saved eternally, but that because we are saved eternally, sin will not cause the loss of salvation!!!
Fortunately, the record is there for all to see. No amount of twisting will do the trick.

I think it depends on the time period... certainly the working class has more leisure time now than before and more disposable income.... I think our post modern day culture has created a lot of disconnection and anxiety unfortunately.

The figures are for average life expectancy. A lot of people living "longer" had to do with childhood disease that was eliminated with vaccinations. Often those were tragic and traumatic deaths. Also a lot of young people died during the wars. Right now the drug epidemic is starting to reverse the rate so people are no longer living longer. During the 1,000 year reign of Christ people will live an average of 100 years and be considered to be cursed if they do not live a full life. ""Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; the one who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere child; the one who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed." (Isaiah 65:20) The Bible tells us that there will be a drug epidemic that will cause people to be thrown into the lake of fire. "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev21:8) The word for "sorcerers" is the same word we get Pharmacy from: pharmakois.

The Hebrew letters are symbols, so the letter B represents a tent or a dwelling. The letter C represents a camel. At the time Moses wrote the Torah a camel was used to take the products to the market place. Today we use shipping containers. Things seem to change over time but in a way they remain the same. There are only 22 letters in the Hebrew and these remain the same although they have evolved over the years. Like a tree that get a little bigger each year. There is change and yet the tree also remains the same as it goes though the cycle of life & of the seasons.

yep, we can all see what you and the other lying legalists say, and you are all dead wrong.

I do not agree with everything dcon says, but he is so much more truthful than the works salvation nonsense you all spew out.

Romans 11:9
And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

Truth be known? It was precisely people like you, "who make the hearts of the righteous sad, and strengthen the hands of the wicked by promising them life." Something of the which you have not the authority to do.
Is the exact reason I walked away from "churches of stone!"
Haven't returned since!

The BIBLE IS SINCERELY the WORD OF GOD:

2 Timothy 3:14-17 (HCSB)
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you,
15 and you know that from childhood you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness,
17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Peter 1:20-21 (HCSB)
20 First of all, you should know this: No prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation,
21 because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Since, every Scripture was inspired by GOD,
How are you ever going to walk in Obedience to these verses:

Hebrews 10:19-26 (HCSB)
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way He has opened for us through the curtain (that is, His flesh),
21 and since we have a great high priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled ⌊clean⌋ from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.
23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works,
25 not staying away from our ⌊worship⌋ meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
26 For if we deliberately sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

Ephesians 4:11-14 (HCSB)
11 And He personally gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,
12 for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,

13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, ⌊growing⌋ into a mature man with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.
14 Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-2 (ESV)
1 Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil.
2 Be not rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be hasty to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven and you are on earth. Therefore let your words be few.

IT IS GOD's WILL THAT WE GO TO A HOUSE OF GOD HERE ON THIS EARTH.

All you have done, was to become part of the PROBLEM.

Going to Church is MORE FOR OTHERS, to encourage them, than for Self.

How are you ever going to fulfill your commitment to like minded believers if you DO NOT GO, how are you ever going to fulfill the
ONE ANOTHER'S of the BIBLE.

Ephesians 5:17-21 (NIV)
17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.
18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,
20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Romans 15:7 (HCSB)
7 Therefore accept one another, just as the Messiah also accepted you, to the glory of God.

Romans 12:4-5 (HCSB)
4 Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function,
5 in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.

Romans 13:8 (HCSB)
8 Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Romans 14:19 (HCSB)
19 So then, we must pursue what promotes peace and what builds up one another.

Romans 15:5-6 (HCSB)
5 Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement allow you ⌊to live⌋ in harmony with one another, according to ⌊the command of⌋ Christ Jesus,
6 so that you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with a united mind and voice.

2 Corinthians 13:11 (ESV)
11 Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Galatians 6:1-2 (HCSB)
1 Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so you also won’t be tempted.
2 Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

There are lots more ONE ANOTHER's in the Bible, so HOW are you going to be obedient to them, without being in Fellowship with like minded believers. Now do not take offense to what I say now, but have you considered that you got WAY off track Doctrinally, by separating yourself from the "CHURCH OF STONE", instead of LEARNING how to function within the ONE ANOTHER's in the BIBLE. Granted the Church you used to go to, may not be were GOD wants you, HOWEVER, it IS HIS WILL that you spiritually GROW in HIS HOUSE, WHERE GOD WANTS YOU. But You Need to Find another CHURCH, were you can be FEED the word of GOD, and Encourage others.

I had to put that clown on ignore....His incessant lies, deceitful twist of what we say and complete ignorant anti-biblical stand against JESUS and the gospel sickened me.......by his own words and actions he proves that he does not know the Jesus of the bible.....

A good study...Psalm 119....an acrostic Psalm with each 8 verse set directed at a letter of the Hebrew alphabet......

Any chance you can give reference to the word love in this passage?
Yah, man:
https://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/tit/2/1/t_conc_1131004

My understanding is that the root of the word love is Phileo, which is an emotional love.
That's what it looks like.
I'll take it. ;)

The following is what I have in my Library. Not my words

Titus 2:4 is a command for Christian wives to love their husbands. The first part of the Greek word comes from PHILEO which refers to a love that has emotion. So the verse is telling Christian women to love their husbands with emotion, to like their husbands and care for them.
Sounds good to me.

The wife’s first priority is her husband, and not her children. She is also to submit to him according to Eph. 5:22-24. Wanting to have sexual relations with her husband is another important way that a wife can show her husband that she loves him (1 Cor. 7:1-5). God also calls a wife to be a worker at home in Titus 2:5. This passage of scripture means that the home is the wife’s primary responsibility.

I have ESV strong, NKJV strongs but neither link through to the Greek.
Boy, do you have to get with the times, lol.

God forbid you should ever pick up your own cross, and go unto the Father with it!
Jesus does it ALL!
Right?

What?....Wait a minute!
I get confused!
Did Jesus PAY it ALL?
Or Jesus DOES it all?
:unsure::unsure::unsure:
BOTH?
:unsure::unsure::unsure:
Salvation is accomplished by God alone. ( the triune God). After we’re saved, we have a part in growing and sanctification, but not in the sense of working towards salvation, which only God can accomplish.

I’m not a soul mechanic, so I get my scheduled maintanence from Jesus🙂
He takes good care of us.

Paid in full at the same time my justification was payed for.
Just like when I take my car to the mechanic. I don’t help him, he’s the qualified expert, not me. So when I need some spiritual renewing or healing or whatever, I take my soul to Jesus and He keeps me in tune.

Salvation is one and done. But we all need spiritual tune ups that only Jesus can do.

He’s our priest, advocate, and physician.

This burns the eyes and sears the pride of worker bee perfectionists. On the other hand people who understand the fullness of God’s grace in Jesus Christ take comfort in His grace.
Even our good works and sometimes our prayers are tainted with sin, and then we get all puffed up.

If we could do everything perfectly, ( we can’t), we would be only doing what it is our duty to do. How can we possibly think anything we do can add to our salvation?

Homelessness not so bad anymore, a great deal of government assistance in place, Toronto is a very well cared for, clean city... the wind on certain days ... yes one needs to bundle up, Agree.
The matter of the homeless there is good to know. If I would have had 3M window sealer and an electric blanket I think I would have stayed in my room till spring. I was not made for the cold. Blue is a favorite color, just not in my skin.

Anxiety is not a new thing.

"6Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

"25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life e ?

28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." - Matthew 5:25-34
