Why the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is not for Today

The context of the thief is on the cross Baptism was not going to happen but repentance did.

Those call on the name of the lord will be saved. Amen. But I would also say the message of the thief is We should not wait until we are about to die to surrender to the Lord. There is no guarantee one will have the opportunity. death can and does come suddenly

As i said...when Jesus was on earth..he personally did many miracles...healing..he also forgive sins... (probably including the thief)

When he said except a man be born of water and spirit...he was referring to future.
The thief even if baptized that day...it has no bearing...for Jesus need to die and rose from the dead....

I wouldn’t say our faith is in vain by not be baptized. Catholics and Eastern Orthodox believe that hence why they baptize infants.

I don’t think Jesus is arbitrary when it comes to salvation. I know why it’s important, but it is not a requirement to be covered by the Blood of Christ. And I agree, one should not wait until close to death to accept.

Please explain what you mean? Without the blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.

What I saying is you don’t need to be baptized in order to be saved.

Again, we would need to consider who he was speaking with. Also, Jesus preached that faith in Him alone brings atonement for sin. Why would He require an act to be part of that?

He said...a man..not a jew...
He did not say ALONE...
but he did say..MUST BE Born in Water AND SPIRIT...
NOT SPIRIT ALONE...BUT WATER AND SPIRIT...
HE also said to the disciples...teach them and BAPTISE them...

Well again, he was speaking to a Pharisee who would have been familiar with Temple practices of purification and water. Does that have any bearing on what He said? I really don’t know.

How do you respond to my question though?

that is not all HE said in the context of that passage. He also said born of the flesh is flesh and born of the Spirit is spirit. You can not form an understanding of one verse or sentence you must use all in context.

Joh 3:10-12 KJV 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

I watched about 5 minutes. As soon as he stated “ This is a requirement” I knew he was teaching “Works” salvation.
