Doctrines that Destroy Lives
Many solve crimes by following the money. But how do we find the Tares among the wheat? Jesus says the Tares or false Christians cause others to sin and do evil (Matthew 13:41). So instead of following the money, I follow the path of destruction in the doctrine’s wake.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

So an easy way to challenge any suspect doctrine is to ask “Does the teaching cause sin and destroy lives? Or does it promote holiness and strengthen lives?

If we can trust this gauge, we can easily spot some false doctrines. Abortion if approved of by any church being the more obvious.

Other popular doctrines allowing divorce and remarriage destroy families when they reach their weakest point. Churches that teach against divorce have low or no divorce rates.

Many teach today’s ethnic Jews rightfully and unconditionally own Palestine. And this belief leads in part to terrorism and the wars now afflicting the world. But Paul said “For all the promises of God in him [Jesus] are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20) (KJV 1900) So the land promises do not belong to any but those in Christ.

The Dual Morality doctrine justifies the Christian ignoring New Testament ethics presented by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, and to kill the State’s enemies. This doctrine helped Hitler raise an army of “Christians” even from among the peaceful Mennonites. http://www.ephrataministries.org/remnant-2012-11-mennonite-nazis.a5w. It also had Christians killing Christians in the World Wars, and the American Civil War.

Does the Lesser Magistrate doctrine justify Christians ignoring New Testament ethics and engaging in revolution? Dominion Theology calls for a Christian takeover of governments. Even though Jesus said his kingdom is not of this world.

Does Infant “Baptism” place the Church above the word since scripture does not directly support it? How many people did the doctrine kill over the centuries when believers refused to obey when the powerful State Churches demanded it?

The Visible Institutional State Church doctrine killed and oppressed millions of Christians and others. From Constantine’s time until America developed laws protecting us from it. Simple independent churches being many of their victims from not submitting.

These are examples. But I believe if we question what we hear, and try to see where it ends, we might avoid having innocent blood on our own hands. “The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.” (Matthew 13:41) NIV

I do not understand this sentence. Is it an incomplete thought? Is something missing? Is there a typo?

I would be grateful if you could clarify :)

Sorry for the incorrect grammar. The small unattached churches suffered under the institutional State Churches. Many victims and their stories listed in Martyr's Mirror. And Foxe's Book of Martyrs.

We just have to go to the Bible itself to see that God's promise to the twelve tribes of Jacob regarding the land of Palestine never changed. They are the rightful occupants of that land by divine fiat. So you are actually questioning the wisdom of God.

By the same token the majority of Jews today are spiritually blind and in unbelief. But that will all change at the Second Coming of Christ.

And this belief leads in part to terrorism and the wars now afflicting the world.
Now this is COMPLETE NONSENSE, as well as propaganda for the Palestinians and all the haters of Jews. Ever since the state of Israel was established, the enemies of the Jews have been encouraging terrorism not only against Israel, but also against America, and the Western world. Radical Islam declared WAR on the West about 50 years ago. They also declared the total ANNIHILATION of Israel and the Jews.

So now you are just another propagandist for the Jihadis. Just like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. Two evil Muslim women who somehow finagled their way into Congress when there should really have been a ban on Muslims taking any government office in any Western country.

Romans 9:6-8
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Galatians 3:26-29
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Do you understand that it is only those who have faith in Christ Jesus who are heirs according to the promise?

NOT to the children of the flesh...

Its not THAT far off the mark.

You have two religions that think they own land by "divine fiat". Both are wrong but both are too proud and blind to see it.

There is no peaceful solution in either of these two religions.

So, as it stands, a state has the absolute right and responsibility to protect its citizens from all threats of violence, foreign and domestic. Israel is a state and has this right just like all others. So I completely agree with Israels right to defend itself against its enemies.

But you must admit that particular piece of land being taken away from muslims and given to jews doesn't help in the least with peace in the middle east.

Although, I do completely agree with your conclusion and Israels right to protect itself, it is for completely different reasons. Not because of a misunderstanding of what God said in the OT and then trying to apply that to present day Israel.

Israel is a state. Therefore, they rightfully and unconditionally own that state and have a responsibility and right to protect themselves and their citizens from violence.

Sometimes, the only way to protect against violence is with the threat of, or actual, greater violence. This is just plain common sense.

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
This should not be taken out of context. The focus is on who are the children of God, and it is quite evident that UNBELIEVING JEWS ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD. Only believing Jews and Gentiles.

But this has nothing to do with the actual land of Israel -- which will be between the Nile and the Euphrates. At that time born again Jews (children of God) from the twelve tribes will occupy the land of Israel (which was not promised to the Church). But this is AFTER the Second Coming of Christ. The twelve tribes are also called "the seed" of Abraham.

THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT PROMISES THE LAND OF ISRAEL TO THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL

IT WAS GIVEN TO ABRAM WHEN HE ENTERED THE LAND OF CANAAN
And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. (Gen 12:7)

IT WILL BE BETWEEN THE NILE (EGYPT) AND THE EUPHRATES (IRAQ)
In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates (Gen 15:18)

IT WILL BE AN EVERLASTING POSSESSION
And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. (Gen 17:8)

THE PROMISE WAS REITERATED TO ISAAC
Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; (Gen 26:3) [Note: "countries" refers to the kingdoms occupying the land of Canaan -- the Canaanites]

THE PROMISE REITERATED TO JACOB
And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; (Gen 28:13)

THE PROMISE TO BE FULFILLED DURING THE MILLENNIUM AND AFTER: EZEKIEL 36
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
[THE NEW BIRTH]
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. [THE NEW BIRTH]
27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. [THE NEW BIRTH]
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. [THE PROMISE TO BE FULFILLED]

The no remarriage doctrine is false.

Consider this. Young pagan couple marries and divorces. Woman gets remarried and has a child with husband number 2. Years later this family comes to church and they’re born again. According to the no remarriage doctrine the couple is committing adultery and must break up the family. Pastors actually advise newly saved couples to break up the family because of a prior divorce. I’ve heard this happen 🤦‍♂️
The no remarriage doctrine is not scriptural and it does not align with the nature of our Lord.

This can be a huge pride crushing study for some. Why? Because it seems so clear in English translations.

"Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.
Luke 16:18

It seems so clear at first glance that the layperson feels they can defend this doctrine easily without any real theological knowledge, and they will defend it to the death, revealing great pride in the process.

The word divorce, apostasion in the Greek, is only used 3 times in the New Testament, not once by Jesus. Jesus used the term put away, or send away, in the Greek this word is apoluo. Apoluo is used 89 times in the NT, if memory serves, and it’s used just as it’s defined. The dismissal of the crowds, the sending out of the apostles etc.
A better word in modern day English, in the context of marriage, would be separate.

Everyone who separates from his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman separated from her husband commits adultery.

Why? Because they’re still married, no divorce has occurred, no cutting of the matrimonial bond. It’s really that simple. Just a bad translation issue. Don’t believe me? With this I mind go read every other verse on the subject.

1 Corinthians 7:27-28 Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned...

Loosed in the the Greek is lusis: a loosening, that is specific to divorce, to be loosed.

Are you bound to a wife? Seek not to be divorced. Are you divorced from a wife? Seek not a wife. But and if you marry it’s not a sin...

Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m not advocating divorce by any means. God hates divorce and it wasn’t that way from the beginning. But after the fall provision was made and guidelines were set in Deuteronomy 24 and Jesus nor the apostles change the law. Sorry 🤷‍♂️

I have much more information on this topic if anyone is sincerely interested.

1 Corinthians 2:14-15 says, "14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.

Romans 4:5 teaches us that God only awards Righteousness only on the basis of Faith in Christ and His Finished Work. Our Faith must be placed exclusively in Jesus; the Son of God - and Jesus; the Lamb of God to be awarded Righteousness. If we preach Jesus alone and ignore the Cross (the Lamb of God), that is another Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:4). This is sin, a insult to God!

Every Word that God has ever spoken is “In Righteousness” (Proverbs 8:8), and therefore must be heard and received (Revelation 3:3) through Faith in the Cross of Jesus Christ, or we remain trapped in the Letter of the Law and forfeit the opportunity to walk in the newness of the Spirit. If this is not understood, there will only be a make believe spiritual walk and one might even have a name that they are alive, but Christ says they will be dead (Revelation 3:1). The Letter of the Law can only produce carnal Christians, and to be carnally minded is death (Romans 8:6). We must look to the Cross and live!

Proverbs 22:17 says, "Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge."

Bowing down one’s ear is to humble oneself and to hear the words of wisdom is to hear God’s Word as Truth (Proverbs 8:7), and “In Righteousness” (Proverbs 8:8), which results in a doing of the Word (James 1:22).

Those who don't build the Temple through Grace by Faith (Christ and Him Crucified) clearly shows they haven't totally surrendered their life over to Christ. Why? Because everything you do and everything you have will be that hinderance to you (Galatians 5:7 NKJV). They will not understand the Word of God or have the experience of God.

To have faith in anything other than Christ’s Work at the Cross for any provision from the Lord is to sow iniquity and to reap nothing but that which is vain (Proverbs 22:8).

Jesus says in Matthew 7:16-20 these words, "16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

Ephesians 5:9 tells us the three areas where the fruit is; (For the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) is in all goodness and Righteousness and Truth.

Therefore we only judge by their fruits in these areas.

"all things that offend, and them which do iniquity" in the kjv. Lots of people teach that it is ok to sin. We need to be very careful with the example we set for others.

A cursory glossing over finds many errors in the OP.

This is just sad. Such backward logic and statements made from nonfacts.

Muslims started attacking Israel far before modern Zionism, unless you count defending one's home land from foreign Invaders a sin and wrong then you are straight backward on that subject.

Hitler did not raise an army of Christians, and his rise to power was absolutely not raised from the pulpit.

Infant baptism is not spoken against in scripture either. But whole households were baptized, and you either assume those house holds were as normal households of the ancient world or that they were like modern American house holds. Read the book of Acts.

You also need to study the Constantinian world ... Just a nonfactual statement. I actually have been engaged in a study of early church history, and wow you have muddied up that water real good.

It likely best that you decide to be a student rather than a teacher.

I base this on the Sermon on the Mount and Jesus' prohibiting violence for any reason for Christians. All of the OP shows false believers taking part in violence.

This anti-Semitic, extremist trope is directly adopted from the world. Are you actually blaming the presence of Jews in their ancient homeland for the terror acts committed against them?

Do you realise the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, Hezbollah, The Islamic Sate and the Extreme Islamic Shiite Regime of Iran share this view? Why would any Christian use the regional term "Palestine" for the nation of Israel?
If you really feel this way you are aligning your view directly with the antichrist spirit and the enemies of YHVH.
I can't think of any 'doctrine' that destroys lives in a more direct fashion. With bombs and violent attacks.

Any believer with this POV should reread the book of Easter and note what happened to Haman. The world is aligning against Israel, because of The God who established it. It's very foolish for a Christian to take on that mantle of hatred.

Men who go into the Scriptures trying to interpret the word of God will not only distort the word of God, but create doctrines that destroys lives. This is why we should rely on the Spirit of God to give us an understanding of what God made clear when he first spoke.[/QUOTE]

Is this what Jesus said? What we need is more Jesus sense. We need to decide which Kingdom we belong to and pledge our allegiance to.

I'm still waiting for you to answer my question on an earlier thread regarding this.
What LAND is promised to us as Christian believers?
