and this was said from another doctor.

At the White House Coronavirus Task Force daily briefing Thursday, coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx mentioned Ferguson's dramatic downgrade of his estimate.

She said the predictions of models also "don't match the reality on the ground in either China, South Korea or Italy."

"Models are models. There's enough data now of the real experience with the coronavirus on the ground, really, to make these predictions much more sound," said Birx.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, a key member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, co-authored an article published Thursday in the New England Journal of Medicine predicting the fatality rate for the coronavirus will turn out to be no worse than that of a “severe seasonal influenza.” In an exceptionally bad flu season, the case fatality rate is about 0.1%, the authors write.

it’s said that no one has immunity until the body forms antibodies for the virus, and it’s said it has mutated once already and might be a reason for the increase in age groups. there might be a couple of scenarios either a vaccine is created to stop the growth of the virus or herd immunity will kick in at 60% population or the virus mutates a few more times becoming more infectious over takes the herd, or it’s said a virus that needs a host to survive will lessson the deaths over time to survive in a environment among humans but it is already in animals so would there be a reason to keep humans as hosts among a virus world for a long time. really I don’t think they know anything for sure about anything at this point.
At least someone is paying attention to the science.

My local area is one of those areas being hit the hardest. My job was shutdown from 4 or more confirmed cases. My local hospital has 3 floors filled with Covid 19 cases most from 2 funerals and a fish fry. They have had to open a outside ICU due to the ICU being full. A local hotel has been turned into a site to hold people who has no place to separate themselves. The governor sent out hospital 20 more respirators to help with the increase numbers. The Atlanta CDC has sent a team to investigate why our area is so high. My neighbors work at the hospital and saying this virus is no joke and these people are extremely sick. They are now sending patients to other hospitals for more room.

Our hospital of course is probably the worst around here and the city is ran by corruption while the streets are filled with gangs who doesn't care about city lockdowns.

People we know are dealing with this. One grandmother has died and another's husband is in the ICU.

Of course I say all this not to scare or worry anyone but it is reality. What makes this virus different is how contagious it is. If your hospitals get overwhelmed then your parents, grandparents, or others will not receive the care they need. This is why the lockdowns, the isolations. To slow down how many people enter the hospital. Drs and nurses are overwhelmed. A few have quit in our hospital. One created a Facebook video saying she wasn't going in the covid 19 floor due to she was the only one to take care of her kids. She quit to put her kids first.

Regardless if this was a attack, a attack gone wrong, a conspiracy to restrict freedoms, or some other evil plot. We will survive if we just keep our cool. Things will calm down and when it does, damage control will be argued in the courts, congress, our President, our local governments, and however the people respond will more than likely have a big impact on future elections.

This is temporary. I am optimistic and trust God has a plan. His will is being accomplished somehow someway. Do all you can to protect yourself and your family and past that, what you cannot control, pray.

Once the hospital's are seeing a decline, things will get back to normal. Heard a rumor that hospitals are seeing a decline but just a rumor. Either way as Benjamin Disraeli once said,
"I am prepared for the worst, but hope for the best."
Yes this is the truth of the matter.

No. This does not have to be the *new normal*. But it will take tremendous courage on the part of President Trump to say "Enough is enough. We all need to sit down, take a deep breath, and examine the conspiracy behind this".

The numbers that are being thrown around are WILD GUESSES or WILFUL DECEPTION. The attacks on the cures is another indicator that people are plotting behind the scenes to destroy America. And Mr Trump fell right into their trap by (1) praising the President of China instead of sending him a severe warning, (2) allowing his enemies to control the narrative, rather than taking full control.

At the moment here are the figures from Johns Hopkins interactive map (hoping that JHU is not playing any games):

TOTAL CONFIRMED CASES WORLDWIDE 665,164
TOTAL RECOVERED CASES WORLDWIDE 140,225
TOTAL DEATHS WORLDWIDE 30,852

No one knows how many UNCONFIRMED cases have occurred. One estimate says 6-7 times the number of confirmed cases. So using that figure here is what we get: 7 x 665,164 = 4,656,148

30,852/4,656,148 = 0.0066

Now if we subtract the recovered cases from this, the numbers are even less.

In contrast, deaths by car accidents worldwide are enormously greater.
Your math is incorrect.
Epidimelogists do not use simple little multiplication.
This virus has an an exponential growth curve at the most simple basic level kindergarten of prediction one has to use
A functional equation
F(X) = X (power of 3)

Ummm car accidents are not contagious.

Yes and this virus has far surpassed 0.1% already and has just started in most countries and probably the first wave.
Just starting in Africa

Yes let's just carry on as normal, open up America and see how many front line workers lives can be sacrificed as well due to putting our heads in the sand and denying basic scientific models.

by way, according to the c.d.c, about 950,000 got the seasonal flu in 2017-18. about 61,000 died in the u.s. . which is about a 7% death rate,

this virus so far here in the u.s. is less than 2%

so, where was all the shutdowns and media hype of that?

Alex Jones is well known to be a disinformation shill, a fake truther.

But then one has to dig a little deeper to realize this.

Are we seeing a reasonable response by governments, or is this an epic conspiracy?

Consider, if you will, three countries: Honduras, China, and Germany.

Three very different countries, very different cultures, very different styles of government.

Yet all three have reacted with basically the same approach, lockdown.

I can see two explanations:

There are good reasons to do a lockdown.

Or, there is a One World Government
already in place
pulling the strings in governments all over the world.

Data indicates in that year 45 000 000 had the flu... so no your death rate is wrong.
Well established fact the death rate form the seasonal flu is less than .01%

my bad, you are correct.

but, still, 61,000 deaths and little media coverage??

and, yes, 1.5 % death rate is bad, but, I doubt if we get into millions of cases with the shutdowns and social distancing.

Could this vaccine that the whole world seems to be longing for be the mark of the beast. After all they have created so much fear that when the vaccine is found will not most people be lining up to get it thinking it is just a vaccine. Just a weird thought I had??

I think some people just prefer to stick their heads in the sand and pretend that things that are happening, are NOT really happening..

It's called avoidance of reality..

the share of deaths by pre-existing condition. Rather, it represents, for a patient with a given pre-existing condition, the risk of dying if infected by COVID-19.

PRE-EXISTING CONDITION
DEATH RATE
confirmed cases
DEATH RATE
all cases
Cardiovascular disease
13.2%
10.5%
Diabetes
9.2%
7.3%
Chronic respiratory disease
8.0%
6.3%
Hypertension
8.4%
6.0%
Cancer
7.6%
5.6%
no pre-existing conditions

0.9%

*Death Rate = (number of deaths / number of cases) = probability of dying if infected by the virus (%). The percentages do not have to add up to 100%, as they do NOT represent share of deaths by condition.

At least someone is paying attention to the science.
Looking at the numbers for today of both world wide, these numbers are still clicking the day isn’t over but it’s apparent the coronavirus is effecting far more.

689 seasonal flu deaths today

2,265 corona virus deaths today
