With Covid-19, we have seen how many churches, even megachurches who strongly believe that the signs and wonders of Jesus in the 4 Gospels are still present for us today, having to switch to online service broadcasts, and stopping their healing groups from going around praying for healing.

What happen to these churches who often teach us the following:
  1. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8
  2. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12
  3. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:17-18
We read about how churches, who still insist on gathering today and going against social distancing, some of them ended up being new clusters of covid-19, and even today, I read about Rodney Howard Browne being arrested by the police. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/30/us/florida-pastor-arrested-river-church/index.html

Anyone has their views about how God heals today being modified by this real life incident?

For me, my view has been refined to this, covid-19 has shown that the era of healing as "signs and wonders" is truly over. If Jesus were to come to earth now, as he did during the 4 Gospels, he would have healed people with covid-19 who are brought to him, to show us a sign that he is God among us.

But now, in the present evil age , as Paul would say in Galatians 1:4, there are no more signs and wonders to expect, the body of Christ is groaning in our earthly bodies, waiting eagerly for the rapture and our bodies to be transformed into one just like Christ had when he resurrected.

Until that comes to past, healing is not guaranteed to anyone. Just as Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:20 that "Trophimus I left at Miletus sick.", and advise his "son" Timothy to drink a little wine instead of the dirty water because of his illness in 1 Timothy 5:23, likewise, the church is to exercise common sense, wash their hands, and practice social distancing.

Any views from interested Christians?

For my taste there are way too many commercials now implying or stating outright that what's going on now is our new way of life. Or our new normal. Implying permanence as relates to many retail stores being closed, services being suspended, and like that.
My neighbor can't get repairs done to the door and window that intruders broke with rocks and a brick thinking to gain access into the home in broad daylight due to this Coronavirus scare.Repair companies have suspended services because they won't risk coming to a persons home.

Just heard tonight that in NYC there are refrigerated trucks being parked in front of hospitals there so as to have immediate storage for the bodies of those who perish due to Coronavirus.
People in NYC are also surrendering their pets to shelters because an unfounded rumor leads them to believe Corona can be spread through their pets. When no such data currently exists.
I can't help but hear that old classic movie title repeating itself when I read of stuff like that last part. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world.

And I don't think we've began to see just how crazy it is going to get. Look at Times square in NYC today or tomorrow and it is empty of people. No one on the street, no vehicle traffic at all. And the subway is shut down too. I know people who use to live in Manhattan. They never owned a car. Always took the train or bus. Now what?

This spirit of infirmity will not touch the Righteous. The scripture says, "...when I see the Blood, I will pass over you..."

Righteousness is defined as a Believer Faith placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and Him Crucified only.

We are in the days of Lot (Lot was moved to safety before God destroyed Sodom). The remnant from the Church is about to go home (the Rapture); and as the old saints will sing, “ I’m going up yonder to be with my Lord”

There are a number of Christians who have been infected with covid-19, do you think they are righteous?

Righteousness is only rewarded by God, by Grace through Faith in Christ and Him Crucified (Rom. 4:5)...these are the children of God.

Simple, I belief that the covid19, are one of the pre-conditions that will happen and fortold in the bible before Jesus comes again.

What you seem to be suggesting or implying is that Christians do not suffer as a result of this sinful world.

This world is not our home.

Do you believe EVERYTHING you see and hear on the News?

Do you even live in NYC?

I believe that God uses Doctor's and Medicine to cure most people. Yes there are cases where miracles occur but they are rare
and often happen when there is no medical cure available for the persons condition. In the case of this virus the effects of
having it can vary from a slight discomfort for a week or so to death and it doesn't choose only ''righteous'' people to survive
Wicked people can shake it off just as easily as God fearing church goers and vice versa.

The answer which the world including ourselves seek is found only in the Cross. When your heart believes this, God will begin to bring you forward in your full assurance of that. You will point all your messages to Calvary where Truth is only located. Outside of Gods Grace there is no help for humanity, so don’t be deceive any longer.

Jesus Christ is the Truth, not the cross He hung on. He is no longer there.

Only by Faith in the Blood of Jesus (the Cross) have we been given eyes to see (John 3:3-5) and only Faith in the Blood of Jesus (the Cross) will you continue be able to see and not go blind again (2 Peter 1:9); the result of ignoring the Cross.

When Paul talks about the Cross, he is not speaking about the wooden beam. He is talking about Christ Perfect Atoning Sacrifice at the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won. If your Faith is not placed and maintained only in Christ and Him Crucified, you have a make believe salvation.

We Christians can get caught in the crossfire of Gods judgement on nations and the world
We need to keep praying, keeping security measures and follow him. All of this "christians wont get this" is ridiculous. Tell that the christians that have died already and are dying..
Famines are a part of the last days and we have been prepared for a time like this in his word.
Imo

God heals by his will no matter what virus it is. So no, my views havent changed at all.

I read about Rodney Howard Browne being arrested by the police.
This preacher has been involved with the *holy laughter* movement for sometime.

But while signs and wonders are no longer in the churches, the prayer of faith is still there. And it can be powerful.

As to the arrest of Mr. Howard-Browne, I believe there have to be some checks and balances on how the control of COVID-19 impacts on constitutional liberties. In this case freedom of religion. I'm not sure what precautions were taken, but this pastor claimed precautions were taken.

Once a country starts becoming a police state, it will be hard to turn back. For example, some governors tried to outlaw the purchase of guns, then had to back off. The same thing applies to calling corona virus "Chinese virus". It is indeed Chinese virus with a vengeance. And the days of political correctness have to come to an end.

The Left-liberals in America see this pandemic as a golden opportunity to bring in Statism and totalitarianism. And if Mr. Trump is not extremely careful, he will be falling into their trap. Already he has a couple of treasonous doctors creating panic with their predictions of 100,000 to 200, 000 deaths (numbers grabbed out of thin air) even though very effective treatments have been shown to work. And he did not rebuke them. (Fauci was a good buddy of Hillary Clinton).

Yes I do agree with you about the slow erosion of liberties. Being a citizen of a country that is often seen as draconian, I am personally amazed at how, thru this covid 19 episode, even Americans, who are seen as defenders of freedom, are so willing to give up their freedom of assembly now.

Doesn't the US constitution forbid the state from punishing people like Rodney?
