However, a man who claims that he loves his wife while actively cheating on her and doing NOTHING to get help to stop only serves to prove that he is a liar, right or wrong?
then in his heart he was never married.
glad you brought this up - i was going to, but i saw you are not married, in your profile, and thought i shouldn't make the analogy lest it offend you.

if you were married, would you do the things that make your wife happy because you are afraid she'll divorce you?
or would you please her because you love her, because all you want is to make her smile? would you know that it is 'till death' you never part? that she would never leave you?
would it be 'for better or for worse, in sickness and in health' ?
or would you come home from work every day wondering if she is going to embrace you or kick you out?

what would make you a better husband, anxiety and fear of separation?
or love, devotion and secure trust?

would the marriage vows be true vows -- or would they be empty promises dependent on her whims?

would you marry a woman who would leave you for any reason?
would you put her away when you find she's not much of a cook? clumsy? forgetful? a poor housekeeper?
how quick would you be to put her away, after you've promised to never do so?

You sure made it sound like the Galatians lost their salvation in these posts below.

A "professing" believer "permanently" going back to the law for justification would prove that their faith was never firmly rooted and established from the start, yet genuine believers (especially babes in Christ who are Jewish) can get sidetracked by legalistic teachers and temporarily stumble. Those who end up not being glorified in the end were never justified. (Romans 8:30)

It sounds like you are back peddling from your other two posts, but at least you admit now that it wasn't a done deal that they lost their salvation. If they are truly born again, then God will preserve them (Psalm 37:28; Jude 1:1) and their faith will ultimately not fail. The apostle Peter "fell away" at the time of Jesus' arrest and denied Christ 3 times, but his faith did not fail. Philippians 1:6 - being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
The Law, God's Word is in the heart, Mind and mouth through Christ. We are a new creation in Christ Jesus. If we are not living according to the change that He has done in us we are denying Christ and are not saved anymore.

No one should live in constant fear of being abandoned by Him, for He said "I will never leave you nor forsake you".
yes :)

and can you flee or lose your way where He cannot find you?
is it possible that you, little lamb, can be so tangled in a briar that He can't free you?

what does He do when one of His sheep is lost or wandered off?

have a look at the tense of the Greek verb in this verse. ;)
it is expressing an ongoing, continuous action. it is the difference between having an occasional drink and being a drunkard ((right thread?)).

if i had to guess, this particular dyad of verses has been addressed on at least 100 separate occasions in this thread. the Bible does not oppose itself.
Amen! 1 John 3:9 - No one who is born of God practices sin.. (NASB) The idea of "practice" is to perform repeatedly and habitually, as one's lifestyle or bent of life with no goal or effort to stop. No repentance, just bring on the sin.

Also, John is not teaching sinless perfection and those who believe they live a sinless, without fault or defect, flawless, absolute perfect life 100% of the time (exactly as Jesus lived) are suffering from a terminal case of self righteousness. (1 John 1:8-10)

likewise we deny Him if we say He has not begun a work in us, and likewise we blaspheme Him if we say He will not be faithful to complete that work.

Believers are new creations in Christ and if we claim to be saved, yet there is no change in us at all according to what Christ does in us, then we are not saved to begin with and never were.

Romans 10:5 - For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, "The man who does those things shall live by them." 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?' " (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, "Who will descend into the abyss?" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."

Hi!
If we are not living according to the the change that He has done in us we are denying Christ and are not saved anymore.
I have a question:

Moses, King David, King Solomon, Paul, Peter (just to name a few)
Some of these men were called a friend of God, one is even called the apple of His eye.
Some of these men spoke face to face with God.

In their lifetime They all failed in some area and not only once, and not just an oops.

What differentiate you/us from these Patriarchs?

Though He constantly calls to us through His love. It is to no avail if one likes the briers, being lost, Wallowing in the mire, enjoying their vomit.

They repented and so must we. If we die in our sins or sin we are lost.

I see you still think your intellect and wit is going to get you somewhere in understanding things of God. Let's let His Spirit guide us and leave all that behind, shall we.

gee, what's a shepherd to do, abandon His poor idiot sheep?
would that be descriptive of a 'good' or an 'idle/evil' shepherd?

have you ever had pets, @lightbearer ?
do you euthanize them when you discovered that they are going to do cat & dog things, according to their nature?
when they grew old, and had little control over their bladders, did you put them to death or care for them?
when they were young, and chewed on furniture, knocked over your carefully arranged baubles, and made nuisances o themselves in their youthful joy, did you drop them off somewhere in the country, or stuff them in a bag and toss them off a bridge?

is it the Spirit in your heart that despises my words and slanders me, or is it your vanity and hatred?

Despise, vanity and hatred? How pompous.

Slander? No my friend you are smart. AND THAT IS YOUR STUMBLING BLOCK. You are not alone. Most who are of a higher intellect trip on themselves.

You said, "proves what".
In our own power whatever we do proves nothing unless it is through Christ in His loving Spirit.
Well that's a given.
The point proves that there is healing their the relationship.
The Lord treats those who are His no different.
