tongues are private prayer language? shouldn't that be PRIVATE (between oneself and God) and you should always know what you are praying even if others don't know, but your heart should know the truth?
I thought tongues were able to be translated by other people if the Holy spirit urges you to speak it in public, for it is a sign for people who do not believe so they may understand the tongues about the Good news in their own languages...

the only thing is I heard of missionaries speaking in tongues to spread the good news and Jesus to African nations and other places and dialects that they did not know but the people understood and when they learned English or someone who knew both language would tell the missionary what they spoke about to the people about God and they believed because of this miracle. I'm not talking about the pentecostal movement, I don't know of that denomination, i just know of some people's testimony I have heard about and how miracles still happen, and people still speak in tongues so I don't know about that part of his sermon.....

he tested pentecostal tongues lol I just love it!!! Scottish Brogue speaking the Lord's Prayer and then taking it to the French Pentecostal church and them lying about being able to intepert it but was not translated correctly as the Lord's prayer.

I may be deceived for a while but God normally get through my stubbornness and corrects me and tells me when I am wrong. I still think you need to have more LOVE in your message, you may have knowledge but with out love its just brass clanging and loud cymbals.

lol you guys have 20 plus years on me, I would think you would be more understanding, patient, kind and loving with age but its not HUMAN age that is important but spiritual maturity that is more important.
I am who I say I am and my words still hold to represent what I believe. I apologiise if i offend you but until God shows me through His words and my life I am wrong and the truth of the matters, I will stand by my convictions.
despite all this the message still stand clear:
for a while God will close His eyes to the world and His people need to be ready for the natural disaster, perscution and read their Bible to be ready for battle for the forces of darkness are preparing to attack the faithful. I'm talking about earthquakes, Hurricanes, tsuanamis, cyclones, tornadoes, and a possible world war, unless the world pays attention and repent of their sins and WAKE UP and remember that GOD controls every thing.
It nothing new, its in the Bible and I'm not saying I'm all that important, its just a warning because so many people are unprepared but even as I speak God tells me they will not listen and I ask why do I bother, and my only answer is
because God asked me to tell the world so that when the things come to past they will know that GOD did those things, not SCIENCE or NATURE or MAN, but GOD

what God shows me?
I see widows and children starving while the rich throws hundreds of dollars of food untouched into bins. I see people dying from preventable things and a woman who pays thousands to have her dog have a perfect replica of her house with air conditioning and television and feather mattress.
God shows me those who cry and pray to Him, God shows me the disaster victims from the earthquake and how many will die not from just the physical seen things people see in the news but how their children will be mutated due to the nuclear radiation. God shows me how the radiation can mutate the drinking water of the world and create disease never seen before to be introduced into the genome. God shows me not pleasant visions of nice things that you think I preach or try and deceive people with or even the Hell and condemnation message that the other extremist talk about.
God tells me what He has told every prophet or prophetess in countless ages: Humanity has a chose GOD or the WORLD.
If they chose God He will heal the world and no one will know or see the visions I've been shown, but if they do not then the destruction will be allowed to happen not because God caused it but because MANKIND has SINNED against God in too many ways to even been listing. It makes my heart heavy because from the responses I've received, many will not listen.
many will call me fake, possessed by familiar spirits, etc. But Jesus told us that we are to expect that because they called Jesus king of demons and possessed, can we expect anything less? He is our teacher and guide and if the Holy Spirit tells us that the world has been judged and found wanting. then we must tell them to REPENT and come back to GOD before its too late.
I don't know what God has planned for my life. I just want to raise a family, teach high school science and love the Lord, but He has already asked me to cast out demons and learn of spiritual warfare through dreams and circumstances in my life.
I do not seek the mystical experiences or miracles, but I do not deny them when they happen around me either. God controls our lives and we should praise Him and learn all the lessons He has for us to learn.
I'll stop now because my words would never be able to justify me. they are nothing but vanity and I'll ask God for His forgiveness, but sometimes its better to speak then to remain silent. When I speak I don't have to hear the cries of those suffering.
On the bright side sometimes you can hear the angels sing God's praises and watch the bueaty of God's creation and my kids and husband are blessings in that they laugh and keep me grounded to all the blessings God gives to us: family friends, the leisure to study His word and learn of the world and the wonderful things thereof.
I like the small things like the flowers blooming or the brightly colored bueatifly, a child's laughter, or the spark in a student's eye when they final "get it"
So I guess I'll leave you guys with a song and a reminder: my definition of prophecy is speaking as God prompts us to speak under the influence of the Holy Spirit and I praise God that I do not prophecies ever day, because that presence brings with it JOY and its like a spiritual lift but also when it leaves that is when the whispers and the darkness tries and steals the light.
I prefer just being ordinary and living life simply in a faith walk with God, but if God calls upon me to give a message I will not deny His soverignity either. I test all words and if its not in the Bible I know the spirit is False and is not an Angel of God.

Paulnsilas I've walked so many wrong paths and God eventually taps me on the shoulder and tells me i've wandered off the path again. He has a reason for every thing do you have faith in THAT?
My friends invite me to walk down roads that you in your knowledge would have avoided but in my innocence and love I followed into God showed me that they had strayed too far from Him for me to walk with them any longer.
My first college roommate claimed to be a Christian Witch, I was saved the summer before meeting her and did not know enough scripture to understand. that is why I am on the site and study the Bible. I have since read the bible countless times but still there are things in my life you do not understand.
I've meet Satan face to face and he pretended to be my friend and for a while I was deceived because my best friend this "Christian witch" said he was an angel and spoke to her too. so I watched and saw him lead her down paths of destruction. I refused to follow.
yeah I know scares the **** out of my pastor too but Satan does no live inside me, He just likes popping up in my life and sending people to speak lies into my life. that is why I listed the four requirements in the beginning of this post:

I know of Jesus salvation and justification, what i don't know is things you don't think exist, I thank you for pointing out the dangers of the new Charistmatic movement but I didn't belong to it to begin with.

When anyone points it out its not fuffly enough to be "gospel" message. You called it the foolishness of the cross. You just don't understand and I feel as if your heart is harden to anyone who you don't feel is "Christian" if they are not part of the family ignore them, if they are part of the family then they can do whatever. your responses make no sense. ok here are some real life scenarios, tell me then the "biblicial answers"
1. college party, kids doing drugs, you (sober and absences from all drugs) walk into a room and one of them becomes demon possessed, what do you do?
2. hanging out with your friends.............nevermind why do I even bother,
you'll just say walk away from it all, leave the people to suffer, its not your problem and cop out by saying "God will deal with it" Sometimes God asks us to deal with it, sometimes we are God's hands and feet, sometimes taking the time to listen and be a friend prevents someone from committing suicide.
I may not be "equipped" according to you, but I still think you are blind to the spirit world and I think you are happy to be that way.
When I close my eyes and don't deal with them, they find a person to possess and attack me that way. I prefer praying and having God deal with them before they show up in human form. It gives me a chance to read my Bible and prepare verses and response worthy of a child of God.

I thought He does this for all His children and I always learn when I disobey those warnings to regret it.

My pastor when he first started Had someone with a demon and he slithered like a snake backwards in his chair, his spine and joints moved the other way that they were not made to go. but the demons started to say fantastic things on how the universe was made and hidden things and my pastor's first thought was "I got to start listening to this fantastic things" his second thought was The Bible only tells me to cast out demons not listen to anything they have to say.
A woman who destroys churches that I know and looks much more Christan than the Christians, listened to a demon once and now shes very busy doing her god's work. I stay away from her because God is likely to open the ground up and swallow her up as well as anyone near her. I really do believe that.

thats the thing when they are just spirits or demons I know to rebuke them, but when they approach me with HUMAN flesh it takes me a while to realize that the person is speaking lies and is possessed. then I rebuke it and it leaves and I don't know God tells us HE who lives in us is more powerful then he who is in the world but

Sorry Im so late to this conversation, but I dont see where in the scriptures it says that these things will stop.
The only scripture Ive read, and believe that is not properly understood, is where it speaks to these things stopping.
This same scripture also says that knowlage and understanding will stop.
So, if one applies it, then we also msut say we have no more understanding.?
This same scripture also says that when the perfect comes, meaning Jesus.
Im no expert on the word, but Jesus also said in the last days, your daughters, servants and old men will do these things.
I dont understand why so many reject these gifts.
One can make the scriptures say whay they want, but Ive always seen the word as true in its word, and deeper understanding.
Anyway, just my thoughts.
But one must ask theirself, what would you say to Jesus on this subject?

I would say: Jesus help me for Your world suffers as we await Your return. Give me the words to bring comfort to the weary and words of healing for those afflicted and show me Your will in my life. Please Lord strengthen my shield of faith and place firmly on my head Your helmet of Salvation. Teach me Lord how to wield Your sword so I might cut the bonds of darkness and rebuke the evil that lives around me and show them YOUR perfect light. So that Your precious seed may grown. May you send others to water and may the person be a fully grown beuatiful and bountiful fruit tree upon your arrival.

And still yet you persist. Tell me.....How did you make out with the boy ? Has his friend been delivered of their demon(s) ? Or are they merely a young person struggling with self-identification and self-doubt caused by the instability of growing up in multiple familial relationships ? Does paulnsilas' credibility of her words depend on her answering your call to pray for the boy ? Does her lack of a response to that thread mean that she didn't, in fact, remember him in her prayers ? Ananda.....It is not my desire to be harsh or unloving. And what I say here is directed to all who claim that God is using "them", however much to their own "chagrin" (woe is me) to be God's "voice". Let he/she who wants to be greatest become the least, for this is the example given us by Jesus Himself in all humility. Anybody can use God's word in an attempt to "prove" they are of God. But those who are secure in their faith have no need of doing as much. The majority of what I read on this forum is counter-productive to the gospel message. This, more than anything else very much saddens me. Each of us must shed our ego's and our pride ......and our desires to be "special". For it is only when we lose our lives for His sake that we truly find them. And even then it is not us but Jesus who has done this work in us. God loves all of us with an everlasting love. Let your heart be still and know that He is God. It is Christ who fights our battles. And it is Christ who has already won the victory for us. God has not called us to fight demons on His behalf. He has called us to have faith in Jesus, His only begotten Son.....for without faith, it is impossible to please God. He is more than capable of doing those things which are necessary on our behalf......and He surely will when we quit trying to do it for Him. To rest in Christ is to have faith in Christ.

I'm sorry if you don't like my methods but it is an important salvation issue, that she answers if the dark forces have fully let her go or not and HOW she hears God's guidance in her life.
