The book of James is doctrinally written for the Jews in the tribulation. That could have occurred 2,000 years ago if the Jews would have received their Messiah. They did not. So the book of James should be viewed as prophecy for those living in the time of Jacob’s trouble. Why is that so hard to understand? Paul wrote to the body of Christ 2,000 years ago and is equally important for us today.
Sorry John

I can not take you serious when you say things like this

Good day

Continue to force James to be a Christian book, addressed to the twelve tribes of the body of Christ, lol, through sly exposition and man’s commentary. Good luck with that. It’s never succeeded thus far.

I answered already brother. Yes, dead faith which is faith alone in Jesus can save you. Paul says so. Allow Scripture to define “dead faith.”
James said it can not save you and it never will..

I agree with james

Abraham had living faith, While he was completely saved by that faith alone, His faith was not alone.. That goes for people today as well as every dispensation you can think of

God knows our hearts. As the book of jude sais, there are people that come into our churches as hearers of the word not doers. Who have no works, but continue to live in sin, They are lost false teachers who are condemned.. Not because they did nt have works, But because they did not have faith,

Paul said those saved by Grace are new creatures. They will NOT continue to live as they did before.

John said the same, as he said whoever lives in sin has never met God, Whoever is born of God will not live in sin

Now as far as death bed or the thief on the cross? God knows if their faith is living or if it is dead. He does not need works to prove their salvation.

Also, Johns focus was on these people. Not the rest of the jewish church. As he said I WILL SHOW YOU. YOU SHOW ME....

You belief hurts, it does not help.. Its almost as bad as Luther who wanted to rip james out because he had no grasp of what was being said

Yawn

Continue to make a mockery of faith. And claim that a dead, lifeless faith can still save people.

A dead faith is no faith at all, We call it mere belief. I belief in God, But when it comes to trust, Only those who TRUST God and what he says and did will truly repent and be saved.

But you have these people who have no faith. as being saved

yeah good luck with that

James is applicable to me

If I am a hearer of the word, and never been a doer. If I continue to live as I was in the world. live as they do. If I CLAIM to have faith.. But I appear no better than a non believer

My faith is probably dead

Can that faith save me?
No..

Nor will it save anyone else.

James 1:
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Remember folks, This is for Jews only in the tribulation

I’m going with Paul on this one. No twelve tribes, but the body of Christ.

Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

No works.

13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Doers—Not Hearers Only
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and [d]overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Yep just jews in the tribulation :rolleyes::rolleyes:

My reliance is on the faith of Christ. His faith has justified you and me.

Galatians 2
16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Those tribulation saints are a “kind” of firstfruits.

James 5
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. A reference to Jews

8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. For a tribulation saint, the coming of the Lord is near.

9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. Jesus is literally standing ready to judge the nations. During the Church age, He is seated at the right hand of the Father.

10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. Job is a picture who lost everything, yet received an abundance in the end because he endured.

Yes, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. Now, using scripture, in all of it’s references, who are the twelve tribes?

THEY are 100% bloodline of Israel. The 144,000 are an equal number of EACH of the 12 Tribes of ISRAEL, LITERALLY.

NO, Gentile Believers, are NOT a substitute FOR ISRAEL.

AND NEVER, EVER DO GENTILE BELIEVERS BECOME part of ISRAEL. Grafted IN does not mean you become ISRAEL, any more than Grafted IN English Walnuts, EVER BECOME BLACK WALNUTS:

-

-

There are a ENGLISH WALNUT Groves in California. NOTICE THE BLACK WALNUT TRUNKS. They do that because Black Walnut Trunks have deeper Roots (more water), and more STABILITY during the Valley's high winds, and Black Walnuts are more disease resistant, and are more resistant to bugs and worms that burl into the Root System. NEVER DO THE ENGLISH WALNUT BRANCHES EVER PRODUCE BLACK WALNUT NUTS. And NEVER does a Gentile Believer become part of ISRAEL. You have misinterpreted that.

HERE IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WHERE YOU WENT WRONG!

The LITERAL INTERPRETATION in the following verses, is the CORRECT ONE. These Mortal Jews are protected to go into the Millennial Kingdom to repopulate ISRAEL, to carry on the LORD's COVENANT WITH ISRAEL.

1 Chronicles 16:15-20 (HCSB)
15 Remember His covenant forever— the promise He ordained for a thousand generations, {A number symbolizing infinity.}
16 ⌊the covenant⌋ He made with Abraham, swore to Isaac,
17 and confirmed to Jacob as a decree, and to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
18 I will give the land of Canaan to you as your inherited portion.”
19 When they were few in number, very few indeed, and temporary residents in Canaan
20 wandering from nation to nation and from one kingdom to another,

Revelation 7:1-8 (NIV)
1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree.
2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea:
3 "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God."
4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.
5 From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben 12,000, from the tribe of Gad 12,000,
6 from the tribe of Asher 12,000, from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000, from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000,
7 from the tribe of Simeon 12,000, from the tribe of Levi 12,000, from the tribe of Issachar 12,000,
8 from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000, from the tribe of Joseph 12,000, from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.

These are the Sealed Jews in their MORTAL bodies, protecting them from harm, during TRIBLULATION, for GOD has destined them to Repopulate ISRAEL, during the Millennial Kingdom.

And apparently YOU COVET THOSE MORTALS, because apparently, you want to inherit the LAND of CANAAN. Shame on you!

If you are a true Believer, somehow I doubt that, WE GO INTO THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM, in our GLORIFIED IMMORTAL BODIES.

That’s not the question at hand. Can faith save him? Paul says yes, James says you must include works. Justification comes through faith and works.

James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

I’m justified the very moment I believed the gospel.

What? Just the opposite my friend. The twelve tribes is a reference to to the physical people of Israel, not Christians. The book of James is addressed to the twelve tribes.

I wonder why the elders of the church just don’t heal everyone with covid 19? And their prayers can forgive the sins of others. Wow! Shall save the sick...not might or maybe.

James 5
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Why the reference to Elijah? Oh yeah, he’ll be one of those witnesses in the tribulation...three and one half years.

James 5
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

After his witness, the earth will yield its fruit...the latter rain.
