And you worship a god that is evil, complicit in all manner of cruelty, murder, rape, abortion, molesting, Holocausting.... if I'M right. Pardon my unlady like response, that's one he** of a god you've created for yourself.
So we now have that established if I'm right?

Why pray lead us not into temptation if he does not?
Spurgeon explains it quite well...

C H Spurgeon's comments…

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
In the course of providence, the Lord tests our graces and the sincerity of our profession; and for this purpose he does “leads us into temptation. ” We entreat him not to try us too severely. Lord, let not my joys or my sorrows become temptations to me. As I would not run into temptation of myself, I pray thee, do not lead me where I must inevitably meet it.
But if I must be tried, Lord, deliver me from falling into evil, and specially preserve me from that evil one, who, above all, seeks my soul, to destroy it. Temptation or trial may be for my good, if I am delivered from evil.
Lord, do this for me, for I cannot preserve myself.
The prayer finishes with a doxology. That devotion which begins with prayer ends in praise. All rule, and might and honor, belong to God; and to him let them for ever be ascribed. His is “the kingdom ”, or the right to rule; “the power ”, or the might to uphold his authority; and “the glory ”, or the honor that comes out of his government. Our whole heart delights that the Lord is thus supreme and glorious; and therefore we say, “Amen. ” How perfect is this model of prayer! So fit for man to pray, so suitable to be laid before the throng of the Majesty on High. Oh, that we may have grace to copy it all our days! Jesus, our King, will not refuse to present a prayer which is of his own drawing up and is directed to the Father whom he loves to glorify.

The reason behind the tree is for man to choose to follow God. God did not cause Adam to sin. Do you blame your personal sin on God? If this is true, we should never be held accountable for sin.
Why the test if the Law uncovers sin, according to Paul?

But you get to define God by your standards?
Nope. I don’t define God. None can do this my friend. What He has revealed to us to know about Him is found in 66 books. And none of those verses in those 66 books say He coerces ppl to sin. You’re the one making that (false) assertion.

let's illustrate the absurdity:

  1. suppose God causes all sin - therefore God inherits guilt for all sin
  2. blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven
  3. from (1.) guilt for blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is ascribed to God
  4. from (2.) God cannot be forgiven for (3.)
  5. from (4.) God condemns Himself to hell

if this business is true we'll get to heaven and the throne will be empty because God will have tossed Himself into the lake of fire

Dude you're like the guy totally rejected by the pretty girl at the party. You're telling everyone she loves you and is gonna have your babies. smh You've been soundly thumped by proof of Scripture that you are wrong. And yet you persist that you are right.

You are among good company. But God must lead people into temptation (based on their lust) if we are to ask him not to.

Temptation can also be ascribed testing. He tested Abraham’s faith when He told him to sacrifice Isaac. But He doesn’t entice ppl, which is what you are saying He does.

“And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left. And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner. And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so. Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.” 1 Kings 22:19–23 (KJV 1900)

You are misrepresenting me and Clark. We both say God cannot sin.
no, you & Clark indeed say God can and does sin, gregariously, but you & Clark say God gets off on a technicality.

Clark's argument is that God the author of all evil - by extension that God Himself is evil, but that literally the only thing stopping you from condemning God is lacking authority to do so. that same argument prevents you from calling God good, and this is all predicated on lacking reverence for Him.

Yes, God uses evil to fulfill His purposes. Never said anything to the contrary. As Martin Luther said, “Satan is God’s devil.” But what you posted is God using secondary causes, i.e., lying spirit, to fulfill His purpose.

This doesn't address why al the temptation in the garden.
If you ask Him, He would explain it to you. You can’t go to Him with the alphabet and ask Him to teach you math. Your premise is off the mark. Your presumption causes you to see things that are not what exist. If I tried to tell you, you and others here would just argue. The story of the Garden is allegorical injected with facts. Sometimes a good story is easier to understand to the simple minded. It was given to Nomadic tribes in the desert who desired insight to the whirlwind they followed by day and pillar of fire by night. Sometimes too much information is confusing. A garden, a snake, a reason for a fall from grace and an Almighty deliverer to lead them to the promised land was all they needed to know.

Just believe his word and worship God as he is, not as you think he should be.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
and evidently in your heart, there is the accusation against God of authoring your own sin. ;)

what does Proverbs 1:7 say about that?
