@Judges1318 has YET to pronounce the simple and clear gospel.
I state that one is saved by belief.....in God's forgiveness. Apart from the merit of righteous works.
Write that down so you don't forget what I say.
Seriously.
Write it down this time so you don't forget what I say is the real gospel.

You ever notice how those who think you have to KEEP on proving their Faith with WORKS, to maintain SALVATION, JUST LOVE TO QUOTE JAMES 2:17. BUT HAVE YOU EVER HEARD ONE QUOTE JAMES 2:10, WHICH IS IN THE SAME CONTEXT ? ? ?

James 2:10 (HCSB)
10 For whoever keeps the entire law, yet fails in one point, is guilty of ⌊breaking it⌋ all.

That means every time they exceed the Post Speed Limit, they are GUILTY of Breaking the ENTIRE LAW.

Deliberately setting their cruise control over the speed limit is not a sin in their eyes. Funny how they excuse their sins.

The life Christ gives is indeed eternal and everlasting.
The question between now and the end of your life is if you are going to continue to possess the life that is eternal.

And, actually, your possession of it is based on what you believe.
What you do or don't do is just the result of what you believe.
We know what a person believes by what they say and what they do.
In the end, it's what you believe that determines if you will continue to possess the life that is eternal.
That's why we are exhorted to continue to believe and trust in Jesus:

"14 ...since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven...let us hold firmly to the faith we profess." - Hebrews 4:14

"23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." - Hebrews 10:29

You are not strong enough to handle certain things.

I apologize for offending you in being open.

Now, if it's possible, please refrain from referencing what I said unless you're honest enough to provide the full context of what I said regarding this silly "speed limit" nonsense.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

This is not only one of the most stupid things I have seen on here, it also reeks of ignorance of scripture, and a basic understanding of truth.....this would not even pass a litmus test for a basic sunday school level understanding.....wow man.....
Just curious, dc.

Would your reviling and insulting a total stranger (fellow believer) pass that same litmus test?

And does not your behavior effectively condemn you in being ignorant of one of the two greatest commandments the Saviour told us about?

If you hate your brother, how can you love God?

You talk to me as though I was a total unbeliever in God. I genuinely care about people and the truth; this is what drives me.

Please be considerate of how you treat people who were made in the image of God. And if you truly believe I am in error, speaking to me in such opprobrious language is not going to save this, or any other soul, from error (as you see it).

Which law is this in the Bible?

Was there a walking/running speed limit posted by the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites that Israel had to observe while walking through each country? And even if there was, didn't God tell the Israelites to utterly destroy and rid the land of their way of doing things?

You are JUST manufacturing EXCUSES!

Like the expression goes, "Read em, and Weep!"

1 Peter 2:13-17 (NKJV)
13 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man
for the Lord's sake
, whether to the king as supreme,
14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for
the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.
15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put
to silence the ignorance of foolish men--
16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as
bondservants of God.
17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
{That would be President Donald Trump, if you are an American.}

HERE is a typical SPEED LIMIT CITY ORDINANCE, with fines NOT TO EXCEED $200.00. SO WHAT PART of every ordinance of man Do you NOT Understand ? ? ?

https://pattison.texas.gov/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/118-Speed-Limit-Ordinance-Oak-Meadows.pdf

There are MORE ORDINANCES OF MAN GOD WANTS YOU TO OBEY, OR ELSE!

Romans 13:1-8 (HCSB)

1 Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are instituted by God.
2 So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval.
4 For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword {a weapon} for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.
5 Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath, but also because of your conscience.
6 And for this reason you pay taxes, since the ⌊authorities⌋ are God’s public servants, continually attending to these tasks.
7 Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor.
8 Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Why do you always flash these posts with speed limit signs?

What business is it of yours how I, or anyone else, drives? And then try to make a "gotcha" moment out of this?

An error in ignorance is not going to condemn anyone in God's eyes. What if you're on a constantly changing road (like hills, constant curves). Are you to really ensure, at every second, that you are EXACTLY moving at the posted speed limit? Seems like this is the perfect recipe for an accident by constantly taking your eyes of the road to check your speed. And God knows how corrupt certain law enforcement agencies can be (speed traps, etc.)

Do you not consider that on some roads (like the interstate) in can be unsafe to lock in at 55 MPH? You ever hear of traffic flow?

In some cases you need to drive BELOW the speed limit (snow, ice conditions, congestion).

Good judgment and attentiveness while operating a vehicle is the safest way to drive.

Driving and obeying traffic laws are not as clear cut as you imply.

I have driven (and acted) in accordance to the law of the road and the thresholds established by man and my driving record speaks for itself. So enough of this, please!

I apologize for hitting you with reality in that you are a sinner. That does not mean you are bad or evil, but what it does mean is that you fall short of the glory of God. You always have and you always will.

I did see Michelangelo's statue of "David" last summer does that count?

Come to think of it, there were a lot of naked bodies on the wall and the ceiling!!

It was great!!

On a more serious note... this is an another example of you maligning grace... trying to accuse others ..... and making yourself look oh so righteous.

Quite tiresome.

You are now full of excuses for not doing what GOD TOLD YOU WAS HIS WILL. And next you will be telling GOD why should I go by the Speed Limit, when there is no Cop in my rear view mirror? And still trying to make up excuses for NOT doing what HE SAID WAS HIS WILL.

You are not trying to OBEY HIM, you have LOWERED HIS REQUIREMENT, to something you can keep, when in reality, HIS Requirements are MUCH HIGHER THAN than YOU CAN KEEP. Sounds to me, like you should learn to confess all your sins, not just a few.

I use Cruise Control when traveling outside the City Limits, almost Exclusively. AND when I do find myself over the Posted Speed Limit, I CONFESS IMMEDIATELY. I frequently told the Inmates in a sermon, AFTER quoting James 2:10, "We are NOT better than the worst Mass Murderer on Death Row; because JAMES 2:10, tells me, I AM AS BAD OF A SINNER AS HIM."

So you admit we can sin all we want.
Gal 5:16 But I say, live by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh has desires that are opposed to the Spirit, and the Spirit has desires that are opposed to the flesh, for these are in opposition to each other, so that you cannot do what you want.

THis is that part , he doesnt understand....

God Bless.....

You are very uneducated in your own doctrine.
It says quite plainly that the believer can willfully sin in unbelief if he wants and he is still saved.
"I was young and now Im old"
But I remember a old school saying ....Something about a pot and a kettle.......

No deflection.
You started calling out sin.
Let's do that.
Was grace given to us so we can watch porn?
Or was grace given to us to overcome the lusts of the flesh?
Who's walking in the Spirit, the person who says grace cuts them slack to watch porn, or the person who turns away from porn in the power of the Spirit?
I'm really tired of this claim that the belief that grace covers all sin itself is true faith, but actually walking, no, running, away from it is 'works'.
