Yes, to believe in vain (1 Corinthians 15:2) is to believe without cause or without effect, to no purpose.
I noticed Judges left out the part of Scripture where it says " Unless you believe in vain " and that what he left out was a very important part to make the whole text...

Thanks all...
amen...
EPH. 2:8.
For by Grace are you saved through Faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9.
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained
that we should walk in them.

it is written in Matt. 5:19.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least Commandments, and shall teach men so,
he shall be called the least in The Kingdom of Heaven:
but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in The Kingdom of Heaven.
ROMANS 5:10.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more,
being reconciled, we shall be saved by His Life. -
for the 'work on the Cross', that is, the death of our Christ, reconciled us to God, because it is written;
'your sins have separated you from God'...
but, 'we shall be saved' by His Life, for is we sin we have our Christ as our Intercessor'...
ALWAYS, interceding for us by His Father's Grace...
1JOHN 2:1.
My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not.
And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with The Father, Jesus Christ The Righteous:
2.
And He is The Propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1JOHN 1:7.
But if we walk in The Light, as He is in The Light, we have fellowship one with another,
and The Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
1JOHN 1:9.
If we confess our sins, He is Faithful and Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I looked at your response which quoted @EleventhHour
You left the rest of it out.

If as you say above she said before "salvation is not by having your sins forgiven"

Then that is the post you should have quoted verbatim. You in your response deleted part her full response that you quoted.

That is truly is dishonest and if people on here looked at your post then they are reading something that you edited and not what she said.

So can you go find a post where she said "Salvation is not by having your sins forgiven"

Those exact words please. If you cannot then you need to accept what you have done and put it right.

You have misrepresented what she actually said.
Did you notice the '...'.
You know what that means, right?

You have to stop gunning for me.
I know why the others do it, but I resent you doing it.

The Corinthians stopped believing in the gospel of the resurrected Christ that they heard and received and believed. He says they are saved if they are presently believing that original gospel he told them. If they are still saved despite not believing the gospel they first heard and received and believed are they still saved? If they are it makes his statement that they are saved if they hold fast to what they first heard meaningless.

I do believe salvation is having your sins forgiven, and if I wrote it that way it was an error.
I am pretty sure I would not have phrased it that way.

My response to him has been asking for forgiveness (in and of itself) and promising/trying to do better is not the Gospel.

you know what, we should all get down to studying Scripture and 'put-away' (Personality-Conflicts) -
'the bigger the ego, the harder it is', and so, may we ALL graduate from 'grade-school to God's School,
ever learning and receiving His most Gracious gifts..., if only we can learn how to do what is required
of us on an individual/personal basis, putting our (old-man-in-the-ground, where he belongs) -
as Paul says, 'let us walk in 'newness of life'...

If you have not Holy Spirit you have not the truth, you have a narrative.....
Acts 5:32
[32] And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

If you do not obey him, you have no Holy Spirit. OSAS’ers do not obey his commandments. Especially the command to love your enemies. It is you OSAS’ers who are the potential candidates of not having the Holy Spirit to discern salvation correctly.

It boggles my mind that you can not comprehend the plain teaching of scripture:

1. Forgiveness of sins without works.

2. Continuance by works of faith manifested by the fruits of the Spirit.

I stated asking for forgiveness was not the Gospel.

Like in the Catholic Confessional ......Father forgive me for I have sinned..... get your facts straight and if I put it that way it was in error.
That's fine, thanks for the clarification.
How do you get God's forgiveness without asking for it?

Actually no I do not know what ....... Meant or means.

And you need to understand that others may ,not either.

So I was not and am not gunning for or at you.

The only time I go gunning is when I genuinely feel people misrepresent what someone else has said or quoted or what they believe. My blood really boils when people who align to OSAS/ES are accused of saying it's ok to sin all we want and still be saved, even when they say they do not.

That's why I addressed your post. Not everyone on here may have your comprehension skills not everyone may know what ..... means.

You have no need to resent me and I hope my above makes the point.

Actually there are some points you make that I affiliate with. The main one being stuggling with sin as opposed to not giving a care about sinning. Those struggling are saved. Even though I agree with that it does not mean I agree with your basic doctrine.
Although some of the stuff I don't get. Like wilfully sinning in unbelief.

I am not going to Molly coddle anyone and neither do you.

But for the sake of this thread when you respond to a quote then quote the full post.
Because if you do not then people like me who do not know what ..... means can jump to the same conclusion I did.

Point made and I hope you understand/accept it.

I know what you said.

With regards to sin @Judges1318 implied you said the opposite.

@Judges1318 i have referenced you so you can respond if I misrepresented you.

No.
Doubt does not cause you to lose your salvation.
Willful unbelief does.

But yes, I've posted the many scriptures that exhort us to hold fast in faith to the end.
You can't see them when I post them because you are blinded by an erroneous indoctrination.
I'm sorry but this is so very funny. You are calling me "blind?" You are calling my believing in eternal salvation provided by God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit erroneous? Did you "cough" whenever you posted this?

You are very uneducated in your own doctrine.
It says quite plainly that the believer can willfully sin in unbelief if he wants and he is still saved.
I'm not "uneducated" about anything spiritual. I don't follow a "doctrine" either. I believe in the Word of God and it tells us we are saved, sealed and cannot be taken out of His Hands by anyone, anything. His Word also tells us a path to follow, guided by His Spirit and that Word also says if we slip, we have a High Priest who makes intercession for us. Salvation and fellowship and rewards are each separate matters.

You are so wilfully dense that you cannot grasp that the Corinthian church had some 15 errors/open sins, were identified as carnal, immature and needing correction, yet were still called SAVED, BRETHERN and identified as a New Testament Church......

You are so blinded by your rejection of truth that you will go to your end denying the foundational truths of the bible!!!!
