Faith And Love over knowledge and intellect.

Jesus Reinstates Peter
15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”

“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”

16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”

He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”

17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”

Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.

It is important to notice that Jesus didn't go to the Pharisees and ask them for their best twenty to feed the sheep.
Jesus did not give Peter a 200 question bubble sheet to fill out, instead Jesus posed 3 questions to Peter.
over and over and over again Jesus preach faith, hope, love; be holy as I am holy everything out of the mouth
of Christ was born of the Spirit and not that the flesh that Christianity has come to. Jesus never seeked out a doctor
of theology, He brought faith to those who He came in contact with. He didn't walk around with a scroll in his arms
and swat heads with it as Christianity has come to now. It is more like the third millennium Pharisees all law and
no love.

What did Peter do that practically nobody does today? He preached the full gospel of the spiritual kingdom now present. Not the pharisee version way off in the future like everyone else today. It's all in Acts 2.

In the Greek, Jesus asked Peter twice if he agape loved Him. Peter kept responding with phileo love.

One of the interesting things about this scripture is that the word to describe “fire of coal” is only used in two places. Care to guess where the other time is this word occurs? It was when Peter rejected Jesus 3 times. Jesus took Peter back to where he rejected Him and gave him a chance to repent. Our King is amazing!:love:

Proof positive that love is the essence of the Greatest Commandments.

In the Greek, Jesus asked Peter twice if he agape loved Him. Peter kept responding with phileo love.
and interesting to note that the 3rd time Jesus used Phileo and Peter gets upset.
Then Jesus said "Feed my sheep"

Even though could not afirm an Agape love towards Jesus, he was still afirmed by Jesus calling him.

I'm sure Peter moved from a Phileo love to an Agape love.

The growth that believers should seek to walk in and seek.

Consider that Peter denied Christ THREE TIMES when confronted by the Jews............. Christ posed His question THREE TIMES to Peter........ Not a coincidence IMO........

Thankyou so much for this. Was listening to this chapter today, & challenged ‘do I love Him, am I feeding His sheep’?...I often need this kind of humbling exhortation...every time I look at Jesus, I think ‘I cant get my head around His teaching-you can’t put Him in a box’ He’s so radical 🙏

Jesus Reinstates Peter
I do have one problem with the OP............ and that is this statement that "Jesus REINSTATES Peter"

Are you suggesting that Peter was LOST UNTIL Jesus spoke in the verses 15 thru 17?

The "reinstates" is curious language in my opinion

Perhaps it is in relation to Jesus referring to Peter as Satan prior to His crucifixion?

Another way of saying "forgiven".
