So it’s my fault you guys use abusive words. Please point out the loving adjectives and I can point out the dispising adjectives. VCO admitted he was defensive. You blame me. VCO is a more honorable member.

I have come to realise that some OSAS...are fiercely protective of their belief...that is why they behave that way.

I am also a OSAS believer......I was the same on a non believer site...I was fiercely protective of God...but I believe he showed me it was the wrong way....

You are right. Thanks.

Just who has the truth is known by HOW they treat those who oppose them, not by their assurance they are right. The Catholics were as confident as you are.
Jesus said He would sort them out not you. That’s the difference.
Nice for you but totally irrelevant.[quote
The Gospel is once saved always saved, there is no other Gospel.
No one who preached the gospel in NT times ever said this. No one.[/QUOTE]

All you do is deny and deflect, comical really.

Jesus said He would sort them out not you.
Seems like you do quite a bit of sorting yourself.

You know the term "fruit" has various applications in scripture.

As well, the entire NT is the good news of eternal life, the gift of righteousness from God.

So your claim that OSAS is not in the NT is just again denial of the entire book more or less.... since the entire plan of salvation was to

make it secure so that Satan could never defeat a born again believer who has the righteous of God.

Satan cannot defeat the New Adam.
Another foundational teaching of the NT.

The Catholic Inquisition did not have the truth so that is not relevant.

The wheat and the tares will grow together but a knowledgeable farmer knows the difference.

And as a farmer's daughter both literally (real life) and Spiritually I have been taught to discern the difference.

The Gospel is once saved always saved, there is no other Gospel.
1. The Catholic Inq. thought they had truth, so it is very relevant.

2. The Bible tell us not to uproot the tares, no matter how smart we think we are.

3. OSAS is not Biblical.

The other matter is that those who are “of you” are only known if they never leave. So you really don’t have assurance of salvation until you die and never “went out from them because you weren’t of them.” Of course if you stay that doesn’t mean you’re saved.
This is not only sad, but Biblically incorrect.
1 John 5:13 New King James Version (NKJV)
13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you have eternal life, [a]and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Yes "thought" ... so do Mormons, JW, etc., etc

It is not what I think, this is not relative, this is Truth, in the scripture, taught by Jesus and the apostles and confirmed by the Holy Spirit

... the NT is clear saved is saved, we are given the righteousness of Christ, declared innocent and God does not impute back our sins,

nowhere is such an action from God found in the NT.

2. The Bible tell us not to uproot the tares, no matter how smart we think we are.
Verse 38 — “The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one” — in the world.

So no, we do not remove them from the world.

3. OSAS is not Biblical.
Then we are all doomed, still under the demands of the Law from which we could never achieve salvation unless of course one "delusionally" trusts in their own self-righteousness.

May I also add that those that pull out the "license to sin card" as an accusation against OSAS actually do so because they trust in

their own "self-worth" rather than the righteousness of Christ >>>> I know I am a sinner saved by grace it is His imputed

righteousness that puts me in right standing with God.

When you understand Grace as SUPPLY rather than demand then you will see how you slur the plan of salvation by stating Grace is a license to sin.

Amen!!!

And what are some of the things that John wrote?...

We are to abide in the Vine.

The branches which I believe that you have in mind where cut off , you know those like Judas , who followed Jesus but was not in Him , yes , those kind of branches do get cut off , superficial believers...

Then you would know "abiding" is not in reference to salvation.....we do not abide to gain or maintain salvation, in fact that is completely antithetical to the Gospel.

and, as you posted yourself I(n 1 John 5:13), we are to continue to believe.
Yes. And if you didn’t continue to believe then that proves you were never a Child of God.

That’s the point of the passage. You KNOW you are a Child if God if you believe. You can’t see that?

John 5:13

I believe and I know I have eternal life...
When you don`t know you have eternal life , it is a sad thing , you must live in fear , always wondering if you have still got your Salvation , and I know there is no joy because I was once believing like you , and it is very tiresome...

We are to abide in the Vine.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
John 15:6

Men cannot cast anyone into the fires of hell.

Wow a lot happened in my time away from this thread. If I may add some of my thoughts on the matter of osas I am a osas believer but I also think there is a difference between a christian by title and a christian by heart. I have noticed that some come to christ but lack that passion they go on the path for a bit but soon fall back into the world, others come to christ have that passion at first but then burn out and again go back to the world, some come to christ and continue to go on the path but are superficial they do everything right except having that close and intimate bond with him, they are about works and study the scriptures they pray and go to church but in the end they are just playing the religion game and then there are those who come to him with a fiery passion build that intimacy and closeness and soar in their faith and continue to show that love and passion they are true children of God.

Now out all the types I have seen the latter is the only one I can safely say can never lose their salvation because these types of believer represent the shepherd and the sheep perfectly, the thing about sheep is that they don't just follow and listen to the shpherd they remain close to him. The closeness the intimacy the love and the bond this is what seperates the seed that falls on good soil vs the seeds that fall on dry soil and don't sprout and the seed that sprouts but the thorns and weeds die it out.
