I am sorry this was read wrong by others , I could not see that at all in your post ...
...xox...
It was read fine, a poor analogy and had he left off the Adam KNEW EVE AND BORE CAIN part and then been reworded.....it would not have had the implication it had.......

Be careful saying that. On the surface it looks good. "Look behind the curtain." :)

I have.....I am a charismatic Christian...I can’t deny what I am....nothing dangerous in my belief.....everything is checked with scripture.....and God leads me not man.

This reads sexual to me bring in that she conceived Cain.

There are indeed better ways to express God's intimate knowledge of us through scripture....

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:30

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
Psalm 139
I am amazed at two things

1. The total lack of honesty by some on here when it comes to saing ADAM KNOWING EVE HIS WIFE and conceiving Cain was not a sexual reference

2. The backpeddling and twist of words while mouthing our reading skills.....par for the course with more than a few on here!

Just like Adam knew Eve his wife and bore Cain....

Two questions...

a. How do you think the context of this verse is describing KNOW

b. Adam and Eve did not call the adoption agency to adopt Cain

Ok.....
A better translation of Genesis 4:1a is "Now the man was intimate with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain." NET v2.1 with a footnote to explain "was intimate": frequent euphemism for sexual relations.

or...

"Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. " (NIV)

Archaic English is the #1 reason that I don't use the KJV. Words, including euphemisms, don't mean the same thing that they did 400 years ago. Even then, the 1611 translators intentionally used terms that were archaic even then.

I'm not intentionally changing the subject... :D

Saying you believe what they do may not be a good idea when there is much diversity in what charismatics teach and preach and practice.

That is what I meant :)

I knew what you were trying to communicate and was not offended (taking it as a sexual thing).

But I can understand the reaction of the offended.

Intimate carries the idea of a sexual nature.

It's probably best not to use the word intimate when describing the relationship between man and God.
Judging motive hey......I was not offended.....just brought out the comparison he made, which at best was faulty.....it devalues God as well.....I am fully confident he knows us WAY BETTER and more intimately than we know a spouse!

I know what you mean....but I know I am a charismatic born again.

Yes,I shouldn’t have said I believe everything they do....because I don’t know all of what they preach.

But I do know that I am charismatic and born again....and everything is checked with scripture.

Well, you did not say you believe everything they believe :)

I tend to avoid false teachers, and some charismatics have been exposed as such.

One even recently recanted his decades' old prosperity gospel approach, though
he is still offering debt elimination if you sow seed (money) into his ministry.

The ONLY Teacher I trust is the Holy Spirit of God. I have no confidence in any rabbi, pastor, preacher, person, etc.

I enjoy listening to preaching and sermons but, the Holy Spirit has to bear witness to my spirit that what they are saying is true.

It is pleasing to God for each of us to search and study the scriptures with a heart and mind that diligently seeks and loves God’s Truth - and is a doer of His Word.

Yet, the ONLY Teacher of God’s Word is The Holy Spirit.(y)

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Did you cit the verses out of your bible where Paul told Timothy to TEACH faithful men who in turn would teach Faithful men etc...

Or maybe God adding to the assembly .......teaching pastors....

Or pay heed to those whom God has given the oversight.....

How shall they hear unless one be sent

or...........

You just devalued MANY inspired verses!!

Amen he sure does. Tuth is that an awful lot of belivers don't know this or believe it. Even though they may have been told this.

I have lost count of how many people who I have said to them "You know God loves you don't you? They say "No I don't"

Then I say to them "Jesus said that God loves you as much as he loves Jesus do you believe that?

They say no.

Then I quote the following

John 17:23
23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

Very sad that even after telling them that they still don't get it.

There is a disconnect, not from Gods side. If not why the disconnect?

Perhaps intimate carries the idea of a sexual nature to you but that's not the common meaning of the word. Here is a much better definition, "Humans have a general desire to belong and to love, which is usually satisfied within an intimate relationship."
