Same old routine from him. I quoted @eternally-gratefull 's post ver batim and he is denying it, said I was not interpreting it correctly. And we are the liars? He also said no one believes faith is not a gift, but he does.
This is not about what you think are erroneous beliefs at all .... this all very personal isn't it?

Seriously, Jesus Christ does The Father’s Will........WHO chooses The Bride for Jesus......
We are not entering an arranged marriage. The proposal is from the groom to the bride. Jesus ask us for covenant, if we say yes we will be part of His bride.

The Bride HAS TO DRINK THE CUP THAT JESUS OFFERS HER.......The Cup to drink is the 7 Letters to the 7 churches.

EH there are times when people on this site are not acting very Christian-like, but there should not be a witch-hunt on one person. We are all guilty at times
There are many people that will come across as brash on here but it is not personal they way people interpret it.

Have you ever researched a Hebrew wedding?

The cup is our acceptance of the proposal.
Exactly! Those 7 Letters to the 7 Churches IS THE CUP that Jesus Christ is offering to His Bride.....if she accepts, she will drink The Cup - ALL of it - ALL 7!

Maybe somebody did explain it to you this way and it could be. The Bible is full of treasures. I will have to research it to fully understand what you are implying.

The point is we as the bride accept the marriage proposal from the Groom. It is between us and Him :)

No Believer can make it through ALL 7 Letters to the 7 Churches without The Word AND The Holy Spirit.

Let the word of God explain the word of God :)

God bless

The Holy Spirit leads me....I have a wonderful relationship with him.....you do know how powerful the Holy Spirit is...Right?

We talk to each other all day every day!.......I often lose stuff in the house..I lost my driving license...the Lord has given me the faith to believe he will lead me to my lost items.

Only got to ask in Jesus Name....he led me into the loft, straight to a plastic carrier bag...there it was, amongst my receipts.

He also gives me his strength to carry my shopping home....

Just a little of the many things the Holy Spirit helps me with.

My faith hasn’t always been this way....

No, The Holy Spirit explains The Word of God.

Without The Holy Spirit our understanding of The Word is FRUITLESS.

Amen!...I don’t understand why quite a few don’t get that...only the Holy Spirit can help us understand God’s word...my friend is an unbeliever..she hasn’t a clue what the bible means.

Holy Spirit leads me into all truth..but in his timing/strength.

OK, but that is not all he said on that verse nor did it end there. And that short excerpt doesn't give the context of what he was getting at or what he believed, nor what the passage means. With all due respect leaving it at that is a bit of a misrepresentation. I listen to him daily by the way.
I have come to believe that it’s ok to say “I don’t know” on certain issues.
limited atonement and certainly predestination, even though I lean heavily in the sovereignty of God over man, are issues that we can say qualify as “seeing through a glass darkly”.

What most here have in common is much greater than what divides us.

Most here believe the following.

Jesus Christ is God in human flesh.
Jesus was crucified and died to pay our sin debt.
Jesus rose from the grave on the third day.
Those that trust in Him, and are born again, are forever His.
Jesus Christ will come again to judge the living (His children) and the dead (unsaved).

So my point is we shouldn’t be divisive to one another over doctrines that don’t impact the Gospel.

And I am by no means singling you out. I have had more than my share of fairly contentious doctrinal arguments.

But it’s the Gospel, and any attempt to alter it in any way, that we need to unite around and not let get perverted. Be blessed brother.

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Pro 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

You need to know the word of God to test what the spirit is teaching you. If it is contrary to the word of God it is not from the Spirit but from a different spirit. Remember that our war is in the spirit not in the flesh. We need to have discernment and we can only have that when we know the word of God. On earth the final authority in truth is from the Word of God. The Spirit will never teach us anything that is contradicting scripture.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for hearing our prayer......
Send Your Word AND Your Holy Spirit and open the blind eyes and deaf ears....may Jackrosie’s friend see and hear The Word and Holy Spirit of God even unto Salvation and great fervent love for You - so much love for You that the world goes silent, in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.(y)

I think you misunderstand me.....the Holy Spirit leads us to scripture and talks to us through it.

The carnal mind cannot understand the word of God...as they are still in sin/darkness...they are alienated from God.

As was I once....I had never ever read the bible...I became born again without scripture....after becoming a child of God..he then led me to scripture and spoke to me through it and still does.

Once you have experienced being taught The Word by The Holy Spirit, you just NEVER want to know anything unless The Holy Spirit teaches you.

He is The Spirit of Truth, in Him is no lie.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

It is exactly what you said. Now, 'I may have interpreted what you said incorrectly' or 'you may not meant to say what you wrote, but it is a direct quote'.

Why are you accusing me of lying again. It is a direct quote. You said it, that is what quote means. This is the second time you have accused me of lying. Did you ever think it might be just a mistake on my part .... or a mistake on your part?

Hey, I think you are a well meaning guy, but words have meaning ... stop the false accusations against me for lying. I don't think you mean to say these things out of malice ... I think you are unable to articulate your thoughts at times and this causes confusion and that is exasperated by inferring people are lying.

... ANYWAYS, if I made an incorrect statement about something which I admit I do though I try not to, feel free to state your opinion ... but stop inferring I am purposely being untruthful.

Again, you take things too personal. People who disagree with you are lying or being disingenuous. Perhaps the problem is you say "A" and mean "B" and when someone reads your post and sees "A" and talks about "A" you think they are lying because you thought you were talking about "B". Or perhaps you posted about "A" and the person misinterpreted and thought you meant "B" and responds to "B". Hey, mistakes happen. Stop thinking the worst of people and assume they are lying. I assume you would never intentionally lie (I could be wrong, others don't agree) ... but I giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Aside: Most of my post was not directed to you ... I just used it as a jumping off point to discuss issues of "those who believe God elected them because they chose God". To tell you the truth, I am not sure where you stand as your posts have been confusing and I tired of trying to make sense of them.
Aside: Again, I think you are a good guy ... I apologize to a degree for this tough post ... but being accused of dishonestly rattled my cage.

Re:
Eternally-gratefull said:
God said I will go and pay for sin, and these people who will come to faith and ask me to save them, I chose or elect to save.

I am looking at this quote again to see if I made some sort of comprehension mistake.

Hmmmmm...
I am almost certain you believe God died for everyone (note: if this is incorrect don't accuse me of lying, this is my best guess and you can correct me if I am wrong)
Hmmm ... God won't die for everyone ... oh, I give up .... your previous posts on the subject left me scratching my head so I won't be able to unscramble it now ... I apologize for accidentally saying something that you think was a lie even though I have no clue what you are talking about ... I will assume you don't just throw out the word 'liar' casually or in anger
Good day sir

1. nothing my my post insists that a person was chosen by their own power of comming to faith,
2. the argument that was being “proven” by this so called quote was that god chose me based on the fact I CHOSE him, nothing in that post said I chose god, saying “I chose god” and saying ” I have faith in God“ is two different things, and to say otherwise is dishonest, this is where bearing false witness comes in

not only was the argument, on that fact basis that I said “I chose God and that is why God chose me” it is also stated that I am MERITING my salvation because of faith and this is the remark used to prove it.
if this is the argument, it MUST be assumed I came to faith on my own power with no direction or help from God, how else could I merit salvation? And I never stated such a thing.

it is the tactic of those who are no defending to play this game, that’s why I had them on ignore to begin with and now am going to ignore whatever they say unless they start their lies and inflammatory posts again,

if you feel offended because I am sick of being told I insinuated something I did not, I can not help it

if you feel justified of declaring I merit my salvation because I made a statement that I never made, then I can not help that

put yourself in my Shoes.

if you catch me saying something and I deny it, yet it is proven I did say it, I will gladly and openly confess it, I think I proved that many times on here.

but when others continually insist that I made a claim i never made. Well

and by the way, if you think I am just using this as an excuse and it was not the argument,I will prove it to you

You teach God chooses others because they chose him. You then teach he chose you because you chose him, making you special for doing so, which merited him choosing you.

That is merit, not grace.
Exactly! He teaches that God chose him because he chose God. Since God saw he would do that he teaches God elected him because of it. That is merit, not grace. Again, grace is unmerited favor. :)
Nope, that's not what I believe.

Its hilarious you believe God chose you because you chose him, which is merit, not grace then accuse others of being special. Lol!
there is a lot more where ths comes from.

can you show me where in the post you just claimed I said whatbi was accused of saying says I CHOSE GOD? Because I can not see it,

I see that I said God chose people who would eventually come to faith in him and based on that fact, not that they chose God, that they TRUSTED GOD, yu claim you trusted God did you not? Did you merit salvation because god drew you, thought you, convicted you and led you?
let’s get real, these things must stop, I personally am sick of these things that draw away from the purpose of this thread,
