And here I was thinking you were not a conspiracy theorist!;):giggle:
I did hear a talk on it once... it was fascinating.. they planted all the clues themselves.

Apparently, John Lennon had a very sardonic sense of humour.

From experience with the "passive-aggressive" behaviour you will always feel at a loss to help that person.
I think we all tried in earnest and most sincerely through a variety of approaches.
One must be open to the truth and not offended everytime the wind blows or assume everyone is ganging up on them because we are giving scripture......

I think I'll bow out of this thread, and possibly ChristianChat altogether. It's clear that most here hold that Calvinism isn't a viable Christian option, but is, as it was said in a previous post by a respected member here, akin to Mormonism and the likes. It's clear that the exchange isn't on level ground, and efforts spent here could be spent more profitably somewhere else.

I'm not sure if this thread, which is the first one I visited and responded to, because I enjoyed the original post so much, is representative of the CC community as a whole. Perhaps someone can direct me to a Calvinist thread, if it's not? I'll stick around long enough for a reply.

I wish you all the best - and I hope that the energy put into sharing the gospel with the lost is equal to the energy spent in the arguments on display here. There's a lost and dying world that needs the message of the cross, the gospel. And yes, I say that as a 5 point calvinist. (Just as there are different types of baptists, I'd encourage you to consider that there are different types of Calvinists, before writing us all off as herectics.)

The world needs an online Christian community where they can receive the gospel, where believers can come for encouragement, edification, instruction, and friendships. I'm just not sure - based on this thread - that CC is that place. I hope it is... I hope I'm wrong.
A spade will always be a spade and in one exchange you openly admitted to possibly being wrong and were supposedly open to the truth.....and like all Calvinist you have just doubled down on the view of an ex Catholic that devised a dogma in the 15th century that does not JIVE with scripture!

Yesterday, you were open to the possibility of being wrong and supposedly open to the truth. Today, you double down on a dogma devised by an Ex Catholic in the 1500's that does not jive with scripture and like all Calvinists that I have met, set their faces like flint and refuse to admit that many verses of scripture in context opposes their dogma that has been devised by a MAN!

With respect, calvinists don’t hold on to the Core Gospel Message regarding non-calvinists. On another note, I like your wisdom about avatars. Maybe I’ll follow through.
Amen....what they do hold to is a dogma devised by a man in the 1500's that totally contradicts scripture!

Sometimes we just do not think. Especially I think we we have a bunch rally behind us. We fail to stop
And think what we are doing and then act like we did nothing wrong and blame the other person or persons
It is never wrong to oppose ideals, dogmas, and untruths that devalue and or opposes the truth of the bible.....yes, sometimes we need to handle people with gloves on, but we are not to coddle and or fail to use heat, zeal or even biblical anger in our opposition of error when called for.....I cite Moses, Jesus, Paul as well as others.....

For @PennEd

GREEN = I Agree.

RED = I Disagree.

1. We are ALL sinners in need of a Savior.

2. Jesus Christ IS that Savior. The ONLY Savior.

3. Jesus IS God in the flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born to a virgin.

4. Jesus was crucified and died to pay our sin debt.

5. God raised Him to life from the dead. ( Believing all this comes by Grace through Faith )

Issues that are probably necessary, but won't discount that person could be my Brethren if they believe differently, because not absolutely certain is vital:

6. The Trinity in the sense that God is 3 distinct persons. ( denying Jesus is God means not a Christian however )

7. Absolutely no works to attain or maintain Salvation.

8. Impossibility of losing Salvation. ( If you spell LOSING, LOOSING, probably not saved! LOL )

9. Water Baptism NOT necessary for Salvation.

10. The Bible is infallible in it's original languages written.

Issues that I am convinced of, but don't believe it affects Salvation to those that think differently.

11. The Church DID NOT replace Israel. They have different promises and destinies, although BOTH are saved by the Blood of Christ.

12. Allegorizing, using as a metaphor, and not taking the Bible literally does violence to Scripture, and leads to all manner of private interpretations. (Obviously there are many figures of speech in Scripture, but the text itself, or obvious context, dictate them)

13. Just as Heaven will be consciously Eternal, Hell will also be conscious eternally.

14. The sons of God in Genesis 6 ARE the fallen angels being held in Tartarus for having sex and procreating with human women, making a hybrid race on a DNA level, mentioned in 2 Peter and Jude.

15. Jesus will reign for a literal 1000 yrs on Earth after the Great Tribulation.

16. God chooses us, none of us would choose Him. He alone gives us the faith to believe, and we would ALL remain dead unless HE ALONE chooses to save us.

17. There will be different rewards given to the saved based on their walk and works on Earth. NOT AFFECTING SALVATION

18. I believe there are still gifts of the Holy Spirit, although talking in tongues is only if there is somebody to understand. Tongues are not necessary to prove indwelling Holy Spirit.

19. There will be a pre-tribulation rapture.

20 Christ's return is imminent.

Let me be clear about myself.
1. I do understand every poster is a human being and that God loves all of mankind.
2. I often use my avatar but sometimes put up my baby dachshund as he looks better than me.
3. I do not believe any "doctrine" but I study, love, the Word of God as presented in the bible.
4. I respond to posts according to how a post is worded. Good, bad, ugly.
5. I am a direct speaking person and if that comes across as blunt, just count that as one of my weaknesses.
6. I do not support false, dividing posts.

Now that's enough about "I".

God Bless us all.
Amen......me.....I just cannot stand false gospels, anything that devalues Jesus and I have no problem with dialogos when one is actually open to the truth!

we 'like it' when brothers and sisters can agree, if only it be a 'little-bit', yet knowing that they
both/all LOVE our Saviour...
always 'remember' = 'and this is one of my nightly prayers;
'Great Peace have they that Love Thy Law, and Nothing shall Offend them'...

we're ALL a WORK in the progress of our daily lives - not to be offended by what some may say,
but just remembering where we have been and knowing where we now are....
the journey continues, day-by-day'...
open hearts are receiving hearts...

What I am reading on this thread lately is......

- We all have our truths, your truth is no better than mine.

- If you disagree with my beliefs then you are not open to discussion

- Do not challenge my beliefs, lets just agree to disagree

- The bible can be interpreted according to what makes me feel good

- I expect my beliefs to be validated and approved since we are all brothers in Christ

I have yet to read anywhere in scripture these sentiments... but maybe I am wrong?

And to be quiet honest ideas like this worry me.
Exactly.....and rather nauseating to he honest
