My son just purchased his first handgun. A Glock 17. He also bought some ammo for self defense.

Great! My grandson has earned his Concealed Carry, so proud of him, he is also Born again and Spirit filled, and exercising His prayer language. I am looking into the 80% complete build kits, all seem to be on backorder right now, so we are in the wait list, will probably go with the model 19 style.
An officer I purchased a backup 9mm he had when his department went to 40 cal had Speer Gold Dots, they were the most consistent expansion in the widest range of uses.
My grandson, on the other hand, will be using Full Metal Jacket since grandpa has 1,000's rounds.
He is sticking with 9mm, and I am glad, we went through the 38, 45, 357, 10mm, 40 cal. and back to 9mm (which is a 38 short) roller coaster in my lifetime.

long before ccw was reestablished here my friend from Texas was back, he and his wife carried Glock all the time, I asked why Glock? His answer- " they have a blocky grip, spongy trigger, horrible sights, but they go bang, every time."

Does a Glock 26 earn any bragging rights?
Dude...no. No bragging rights for a glock 26. Nice utilitarian carry piece, but that's a strict "no bragging" gun. :)

Here is a bragging gun. (I don't own one.)

Or maybe this might be more your style?

(If you didn't click the price list, the top config is 18K. But if you want the fanciest engraving it'll be an additional 34K. hahaha)

or finally this might be worth bragging about...

I don't even know how much this thing would be if you could get one. I saw one for sale a looooong time ago for like 250K. Wouldn't surprise me if it would pull ten times that much now.

Bragging is overrated though. Glock 26 is just fine.

Awesome firearm, "built like a tank". I am an old guy, so I am not a fan of recoil anymore, and as an old guy I only need one shot, and that can usually be accomplished with a 22, big game and stuff that would eat us excepted.
Preacher- do you have a Redhawk 9.5" ?

Yes, .44 magnum.

There isn't much recoil with that 9.5" barrel, nice and smooth. It is a blast to shoot, pun intended!
