I don’t have an opinion on faith since I don’t think it exists. Since you believe it exists the burden of proof is on you.
You said you don't believe faith exists and ask for evidence of it existing which already defeats your understanding of it not existing.
Believing in anything or not believing in anything is faith. To believe it doesn't exist is an opinion and is also faith because you believe it doesn't exist.

Faith is not a tangable thing it cannot be proven or disproven by conventional means just as a person having a soul or that we have emotions there is no evidence one can prove of these things except in our daily observance.
Even the fact that we have thoughts is not a physical thing but if one looks at the brain in a study you will notice that when we think deeper thoughts the brains shows much more activity when we are emotional or show emotions the brain also shows more activity than normal each time in a different area of the brain that works differently than the rest of the brain.

But when you look at the brain when one shows faith say in prayer or believing in something seemingly impossible the brain shows activity in every area the entire thing will light up under the machines that show the brain activity in such tests.

so really the fact that the brain shows activity at all when it comes to faith is evidence it exists because the brain recognizes it and works accordingly.

The alleged existence of some man in the moon does not equate in any way with knowing whether or not there is a God Who created us for a purpose. If you have no sense of needing to know the truth of some matter that has been at the core of man's search for meaning from ages old, what are you doing here, really? If you come simply to mock and to scoff as seems obvious, you will not last long.
Berean Study BibleEnglish Standard Version

1Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers.1Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

2But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.

don't feed the trolls people, the enemy is currently attacking all of the christian chat rooms and other forums. They aren't here to seek answers, they are here to divide and confuse. Now a whole four pages of christian chat has been wasted on one of satans minions.
I’m sorry you feel that way but I care about truth and reliable ways of finding it. Having faith means that anything you think god tells you is true even if it contradicts another persons belief, also derived by faith.

I’m sorry, you missed the point. You were saying that I have faith in my opinion. I’m not saying that at all. I have an opinion, it’s that simple. I tried to show that by the moon example. Of course I want to know truth. How do you know you have it when you say it comes by faith? I say faith doesn’t exist, but Only knowing by learning or experience. What would be helpful is for you to answer How believing in something with no evidence leads you to truth?
I have already answered these questions. Personal empirical experience goes into the making of faith, and cannot be transferred. Did you miss that? You say you have no opinion on faith but then keep giving it and denying it at the same time. You are being irrational. I did not say you were saying you have faith in your opinion. You miss the point entirely. I am saying you have faith in your opinion, even as you claim you have no opinion. Your lack of rationality and logic escape you, also.

Not believing in something is faith? I would call it not believing in something. You are playing with terms.

the Holy Spirit is a gift given to all who wants it, he cannot lie or deceive anyone. Thats where faith is built. Mankind is to evil and self centred to adhere to the faith God desires. They always look for an out.

We don't have to prove anything. This is Christian Chat not atheist chat.
So you don’t care if have a good foundation for what you believe? You just want to pat each other in the back and I understand that. Everyone wants to be part of a group that accepts them.

So you may have answered this already and I apologize for asking if you did but what is your purpose and motive for wanting to know the existance of faith? What brought you to question it's existance?

I wanted to find someone who had common sense and was able to reason. There is no evidence for a thing called faith. It causes confusion and gives people an excuse for not searching for truth. I hear “ my faith” teaches me so and so. Someone else says mine does too but contradicts yours.

Same with people of faith. Faith = confidence. That definition was given before, you know.

Check out these verses on confidence.
I can say I have confidence that there is a man in the moon. Would that confidence be justified? You seem like a reasonable person and of course the answer is no because it goes against all common sense, logic and experience. But with faith, you have the license to say anything you want and call it truth. I appreciate your time. Would you admit that Christians read the same Bible and come up with completely opposite doctrines? How do you account for that?

That is intersting, I like the prospect behind it. See depending on who you ask you will get different results some people go full blown faith without seeking truth or evidence others like me prefer to combine faith with logic and reason.
See though I am full beliver in fiath I also have a scientific mind I love to research things I adore science of all kinds and am fascinated by things like psychology science hostic facts and teaching ect.
As you may have noticed my writing can be a bit long and descriptive.

I think the idea of proving faith exists is actually a pretty scientific prospect and one I may take on myself just for the research of it.

The thing is though If we are talking about Spiritual faith that is a different matter because as I said ealier there is a difference between faith and spiritual faith. You know I never used to bee a logical scientific kind of person until I met God and over time these things grew in me he was the one who brought about my mindset I used to hate learning and knowledge but now I am always hungry for it.
Spiritual faith depending on the person can be measured differently I mean every person even believers know that to blindly believe anything is illogical.

So let me maybe explain it in this way. You have heard people say don't jynx it right? people believe that if you say something like a scenario such as if I said thast building looks kind of fragile what if it just falls on us? and another person says don't jynx it.
That derives from a kind of psychology the fact one believes something could happen by mentioning it makes it more likely to happen and even sometimes though I personally don't believe in it I have seen this happen to me as well just thinking something could happen I sometimes have it happen right as I think it.

Or say you say to your friend who is accusing another friend of doing something wrong like stealing from the other friend but you know this friend is a loyal and reliable person and you tell the accuser you believe in their innocence you have faith in their integrity.

Faith is a belief in something or someone that is even the way it is described in the dictionary and so though you cannot hold the evidence of it's existance you can see it by observation.

To have faith in God is the same thing but to have faith in him you first have to come to him otherwise he would not ask us to accept him because even he knows it is illogile to have faith in him without ever knowing him.

I wasn't even sure how real he was before I was saved but when I did come to know him as I learned his nature his traits his personality the way he thinks sees and does things my faith in him become deeper and deeper just as you would in coming to learn and know any other person

You left the door wide open for a mini testimony. Thank you.

In 1977 on a beautiful spring afternoon I was walking through a park about sunset. I saw a circle of people about my age gathered under a tree. They looked happy and were singing contemporary sounding songs. playing guitars, tamborines and even a harmonica. It seemed to be cool fun so I approached. They were singing christian lyrics and the invited me to join. They were modern, contemporary yet hardcore Christians

It was on my way home and learned they gathered several nights a week so I visited them often. They were non denominational christians who went to events and concerts at a several different churches. Jesus freaks they were called. They mostly lived in the area but had no church or Pastor. Just a dude that owned a used book store nearby. He gave me a bible.

They heard that 2 evangelist missionaries were returning from Africa and took up a collection to rent a high school auditorium. They/we and invited them and everybody to come and hear about there travels and experiences as missionaries. I was amazed by what I heard. We took a collection and offered it to them. They refused it. They started walking around and selected individuals to pray for. No strings.

They came to me and tanked Jesus for providing me as a witness. People all around started praiseing and thanking God. I was deeply moved but skeptical so I prayed to a god that I was never convinced exested. It could have been group psychosis or something like that. I asked Jesus if he was real, prove it to me.

That night in my dank and dark apartment the lights suddenly came on and Jesus made himself real to me. The Holy Spirit filled me first with more love. Than I ever had for anything or anyone. I've never doubted agani. when the sun rose I was still thanking and praising the Lord. I've never doubted His reality since.

Sometimes a witness is evidence enough to indite or even execute. I'm a witness. I'll never deny it happened and many others I have known have had similar experiences. @Deade @Magenta, can I get a witness? Amen?

My problem is why would I even want to “know” him if there is nothing drawing me to the whole idea. There is plenty of reasons not to go in the direction of pursuing Some kind of a relay with any god.

I’m sure that is exactly what happened and it was real to you. The only problem is that a Mormon will have the same testimony with a few facts that are different like how Joseph Smith is Gods true prophet. They will tell you how they felt god, how god confirmed everything and they have peace in believing in a glorified man. Do you see how “having faith” is not reliable?

Please show that there is a thing called faith. There cannot be any feelings involved according to the Bible.
A man cannot SHEW his faith without using his body.
James wrote, show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works(what I do.)
Faith Is fruit, fruit of the Spirit. It comes from the Inside out.
Man looks at outward appearances.
GOD looks at your true motives.

Faith Is fruit, fruit of the Spirit. It comes from the Inside out.

GOD looks at your true motives.
Motivation and desire to do good come from inside and it is shown by good works. Many people that don’t believe in God have many good works so again, this does not prove that faith exists.
