Rosemary, would this be good for you??

Hi Ruby...
What a great set of tools for the kitchen :) , but to be honest , the one I would use is the black one...
I think this would be great for those who cook food everyday , as in a family , as for me , I am on my own , but thank you sister for showing me , I appreciate your thoughts ...

Do they make combo blender/ juicers?
Hi @blue_ladybug ...
They do but the cons on them are awful...

Blenders come very cheap to high expense , so to get a decent blender , I would look for one with 900wt to 1000wt , and you can do all sorts in that...

My juicer I bought is called an Acock , it was about £89 , and it is perfect for me because I live on my own , but there are much cheaper juicing machine out there that work great ...

There are two kind of juicing machines , one is called a centrifugal juicer , this juices fast , but leaves the pulp wet and soggy so you don`t get full amount of juice , but that is fine if you just want to juice , or there is another one called cold slow juicer which I have , it leaves the pulp dry as a bone...

Keep looking , there are loads out there , just don`t go for the top end ones , they only want your money...

hub and I use both a high powered bender and a centrifugal juicer products since the - (80's)
we started using the Vita-Mix in the 90's, and it is a bull-dog of a juicer/blender -
we use it almost every day, and it is 'low-labor'. the policies of the company also are very, very. good,
if something should go wrong with the machine, which has only happened 'once' in all of these years'...

I recently found a 'bullet', which Rose has mentioned, at a 'thrift-store' for about $7.00, brand-new' and it
is a very good tool for making any kind of smoothie, etc... - we have even found a Cusinart Food Processor for
$5.00, and it looked like it was brand new...

ANYWAY PEOPLES, love yourselves and take advantage of the tools of juicing and the many HEALTHY BENEFITS
that they provide...

THANKS ROSE!!!
hugs, oxoxox

I have been slack. It is winter here in Aus and with the whole virus thing, I just stopped. But spring will be starting soon so I hope to get back into it again. I only juice about twice a week though, not every day.
You are very disciplined Rose to keep it up for such a long time. I admire that. I lack in persistence lol.
Things are ok in Aus, in the west anyway. It is worse in the east. They have to wear masks and are in another lockdown. How is your area in England going? Have things improved or are you all wearing masks still?

My sister who lives in Sydney just messaged me to say that all is on lockdown and the borders are shut , not sure what that means...
We are having a mini heatwave here , it is so hot , but we have storms on the way , I am looking forward to them to break this heat...

I try to discipline myself Ruby where juicing is concerned , but I do fail miserably , it is a constant battle , especially because I am type 2 diabetic , and I know juicing works , because last year I was full blown diabetic , but after 3 months juicing I was classed as pre diabetic , so my will power is not as strong as before , I tend to give up or give in a lot , but I thank God that I do not have any of the complications that comes with being type 2 \o/...

The COVID here is up and down , certain rules for one , different for another , pubs you can enter without a mask , wear a mask here , don`t have to there , it is tiresome , but we have to obey the Law of the land as God says ...

Oh , I should use my blender more , frozen fruits would be nice in this heat...

Oh I was under the impression that England and Aus were both in winter.
Yeah I know what you mean about the rules of the mask, it gets so confusing.
Glad that the juicing has helped diabetes and you are doing well with it. You should write a book on it with pictures (y)

great mix Rose -
hub and I often go through (2) of those size jars in a day -
always with varying ingrdients -
we use quite a lot super-foods mixed in -
a few of our favorites are;
spirulina
wheat grass
alfafa
kelp,
etc...
we also make our own organic oat-water, often with fresh ginger,
we just put a couple cups of organic of oats in a half-gallon jar for 24hrs.,
occasionally shaking it up - it's amazing how useful and
healthy this is, and very inexpensive -
we use the water not only for drinking, but also cooking and broths...

there's just nothing that can make one feel better and positive about
their health...
Praise God...

I have never heard of Organic oat water before , that is something I would love to try :D...
I have Organic oats , so where do I go from there...I do not have huge jars , just the normal size juicing jars with handles , could I make the oat water in them?...

I also add the super foods you mentioned , and yes praise God for all of them...

Rose,
one of the stores that we shop in carry a line of products which are called 'Greenwise'
and all of their products are 'organic' and very affordable...
we just put in a jar the amount of oats we want for different consistancies,
such as:
we will put 2cups of oats in a half a gallon of water, this makes a real good broth -
but (1) cup per half a gallon of water makes a good refreshing drink, also it is
very, very soothing to the stomach -
sometimes we like to add fresh ginger or a little honey for a bit of sweetness -
the size of the jar you use, you simply adjust the proportions to it...
oh yes, we also sometimes make 'barley water' using the same formula, it's
quite healthy-tasty and has been around for hundreds of years...

Thank you...
So when I make the oat water , do I drain the water out from the oats and drink it as it is and disregard the oats?
I drink oat milk for my tea , I like oat milk...
