Jacob, surname Israel, all of the nation of Israel is not of Jacob/Israel, includes all of God's elect, which are the ones that Christ died for, and are the ones that God will quicken to a spiritual life, and are the ones that Jesus will come back to collect at the last day and take to heaven.
Are you aware of the other view to this ?

They are not working anything out in an eternal sense, and it does include working for others and not for themselves. It also includes repentance and forgiveness which is their reward at the time of their repentance.
I agree its not in an eternal sense . Nor do i see this being about individual rewards ect . Jusy as Paul is doing whats needful for others selflessly he wants others to do likewise . For the furthering of the Gospel. Imagine if no one bothered to tell others the good news ? Who would be saved?

Yes from committing sins, saved from our sins and not saved in our sins, the deliverance is from committing sins
The deliverance is from suffering the consequences of the sin that we repent of.

Having the knowledge of the good news that Christ died to pay for your sins can deliver you as you sojourn here in this world, but by Christ paying for your sins, whether you have knowledge of it or not, still delivers you eternally.

Which is the better news? that Jesus died to pay for all of your sins, or, That Jesus died as an offer to pay for your sins.

Not sure this is relevant to the topic ,but i do not believe he died as " an offer to pay for our sins " . He actually died for sins ..
1 John 2:2

“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

Now if you say this isn't talking about literally the whole world. If John did mean literally the whole world how should he have said it ?

What is better news is that Jesus died for everyone ? That is better news than you have .

" You have salvation . You are saved. Now go to work ,selflessly to further the gospel . " Let your salvation be the cause for others .

Why try to change the words of a perfectly clear verse? And the context of Philippians 2:12 is not 1:12. It is Philippians 2:5-15.

5 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;"

It is what our Lord Jesus DID - His works:-
Verse 7 - "He MADE" ... a work, He TOOK ... a work.
Verse 8 - "He HUMBLED Himself" ... a work. "HE was OBEDIENT" ... a work
Verse 9 - the RESULTS of these WORKS is to be awarded the highest place in the universe ... A REWARD
Verse 12 - starts with "WHEREFORE ... " showing that the foregoing verses apply to us. We must DO the same things!
  1. Have Christ's mind
  2. Make oneself of no reputation
  3. Be a servant
  4. Humble oneself
  5. Be obedient
  6. Be obedient even if it means your death
  7. Do all things without murmurings and disputings
IF one will DO this, one will receive a place in the KINGDOM. The context is not a matter of avoiding the Lake of Fire, or having eternal life. It is a matter of who will BOW the KNEE to who - a matter of RULE. We see it again in Revelation 3:8-10;

8 "I know thy WORKS: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."

The salvation spoken of here is the salvation of the SOUL, not to be spared the Lake of Fire. See 1st Peter 1:9.
I cant believe you would use a curse word here in this form?

You should know by now that the word "DO" is a curse word for many on cc

Don't have to pray.....that requires me "doing" something.

Dont have to attend church....that requires me "doing" something

Dont have to keep Gods commands.....that requires me "doing" something

Endure to the end......no, that requires me "doing"

Run the race with patience.....no that requires me "doing"

Be a servant.....no can't "do" it

Being sarcastic of course!!!

I am one that does believe that 2:12 ("with fear and trembling") connects back with 1:14, which states, "And most of the brothers, confident in the Lord by my chains, now dare more greatly to speak the word without fear."

The entire context speaking of "in the here and now" (including 3:11 and 3:14, which ppl commonly MIS-apply by saying it speaks of our Rapture, which it isn't - http://articles.ochristian.com/article12455.shtml ... which article should be read very carefully... and note where he points out what follows this part: "Ephesians and Colossians, be it remembered, were written at the same period of his ministry as Philippians; and in the light of these Scriptures we can read this chapter aright.")

Then, note the other places where "with fear and trembling" (or similar) are used, and these likewise are referring to contexts where it is speaking of: "before other men / in the presence of people" (etc)

The salvation spoken of here is the salvation of the SOUL, not to be spared the Lake of Fire. See 1st Peter 1:9.
Philippians 1:19
For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

Philippians 1:28
And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

I'm seeing ' and this shall turn to my salvation ' As in the sense of all the Fuit of his ministry can be traced back to his salvation ( when he first got saved) Thus Paul wants the same to happen to these believers also . He Worked OUT so they too can work OUT their salvation so that likewise the furtherance of the Gospel will also turn to their salvation.

1 John 1:5-10, This then is the message we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth.

The DARKNESS IS SIN, WALKING IN DARKNESS IS SINNING,
And when god's light show us the truth tait sin, WE are to repemt AND COME TO THE LIGHT, WHICH MEANS WE ARE TO STOP< DOING THAT SIN, AND WALK IN THAT light that GOD has showed US, TO keep doing that SIN, IS WALKING IN DARKNESS.
