I have a few friends from the church on FB who I have communicated with, a few others I don't know but they are nice..., but I don't like the guy CEO MZ is an antichrist, so I just requested them to delete my page. They said it will take them 30 days then it would be deleted, now I am here....I feel SAD because I have Christian friends and good friends there! .... regret NO. Being there is like supporting a website whose founder is NOT for GOD, M.Z has put a lot of money to swing states to cause election fraud. M.Z betrays the U.S and Israel even though he was raised in modern Judaism.
I have been thinking about deleting FB for awhile (I started this thread) so that I can "move forward" and also it is a time waster. But now, I'm upset about censorship so I deleted Twitter. I mainly use Twitter to complain to vendors about products. Also, you don't really need Twitter to view tweets. Feeling hesitant about quitting FB since I have extended family there. I believe I will deactivate it after I save some of the pics, which will be this weekend. My apt building does have a social group which is organized through FB, which will start to pick up once COVID is over. I plan to deactivate and check it about once per month, rather than completely deleting it. If anyone really wants to find me and don't have my personal contact info, they can look for me on LinkedIn.

I keep my Linkedin up to date but don't really use it. I like LinkedIn, and I believe it is helpful (maybe not necessary) to have one for professional reasons. There was a period when I went to networking events and I added people to LinkedIn, but not anymore.

yeah, I use it, but I wouldn't say it's enthralling.
Certainly not useless, just, not my first thought for networking.

Yeah it's not too bad. it's also a good option if you do not want to connect with someone via Facebook. Sometimes recruiters do send me messages if I was job hunting I would pursue those.

you could always join An alternative and post the link on fb so that anyone wishing to remain in touch can do so, or give your email address. I joined 101christiansocialnetwork (A Christian alternative to fb) and here for that reason. :)

its Ok. Still much smaller than fb of course but people chat and share in the public posts a lot and there are group pages etc for topics you are interested in. It needs to be advertised more I think, to get membership built up. It’s free and the owner is always on hand to monitor for scammers etc. I prefer it hands down to fb, but it needs support to get more established.

This site is a lot more established and active, but both are worth getting involved with I think. We should support believers efforts to provide healthy alternatives if we moan about fb and it’s Owners morals. I have done plenty of moaning lol

Give them your email address and Encourage them to join Christian alternative social networks Even if they don’t delete their own fb. That way they can still keep in touch.

I left fb a few times over the years but rejoin when I feel I want to try and evangelise a bit more. I sadly found very few people can be bothered if they have to click an extra button or two on their phone or computer to interact with me, despite professing to love me and when I do go back to fb they claim they really missed me when I left fb.

People are fickle. They like convenience. They like the easy path. Going the extra mile is a strange and uncomfortable concept to many.

But it has helped me to realise we cannot trust in man, only God. I have “friends“ who say “it’s not my fault we don’t keep in touch, you quit fb! I don’t want to email or join other sites. Everyone uses fb, it’s easier!”.

They are not my friends clearly, but I try to remain theirs because we are here to serve not to be served.

I know multiple people who are tired of Facebook deleting their posts that are not considered to be "Facebook politically correct" so they deleted it for another social network. I think we can see where things are headed in America in regards to free speech.

Facebook banning Trump, until at least inauguration day maybe indefinitely.
I don't agree with a lot of things that Facebook does, but this was a very sensible move on their part.
Facebook is a way I can stay in touch with certain people, so I'm going to keep my account.

huh thought it was twitter

I wouldnt be friends with politcians on social media, just feel like its not really the place for it.

if theres a better alternative, why not use it.
FB has too many ads now IMHO.
When it was in its early days it was more for young graduates who liked playing silly games like farmville and poking each other.

who would have thought that it would grow so big that everyone else would wanna be in on it and use it to make a buck.

personally I kind of like having different believers Input in my life so I am pretty Thankful for it. Facebook started the same way, it just depends what we want to invest our support and time and energies into. Facebook has plus points for sure, but I get a lot from this site and the 101 network site that I don’t get on fb. :)
