If you have noticed many conservatives are being targeted by big tech, Left media, and the Democratic leadership. The POTUS Twitter account was blocked and he has been removed from Facebook. This is a serious thing happening because it is the start of what will happen in the greater amount on January 20th. ""Forbes magazine’s chief content officer delivered a stark warning to companies that might consider hiring Kayleigh McEnany, Kellyanne Conway, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and other former spokespeople in the Trump White House: "(FoxNews).


This is how it starts. I must say 2021 will be very much greater challenging than 2020. I have closed my Twitter account, FB, and the left removed my Parler access. I have no more social media other than CC. In 30 days my FB will be permanently closed. I would encourage all too fast and pray I have no excuses not to, because I will not be on those other "woke " outlets and have more time for the prayer and the word of God and family.

What are your thoughts?

What do I think? I think we are living in very sobering times. Our choices are being diminished and we are being herded into a funnel leading to fascist control and lies as the norm.

People are falling like dominos; support this or that and you are going to be deleted. And all of this by a minority who have been accumulating power for years and although some have already been threatened with that power, it seems they have decided now is the time to illustrate what they can and will do with it.

I am pretty much convinced the last four years have been well spent by the left, social media and outside sources, on whatever is available to them, to bring the US 'to heel'. The right has been dozing.

Yep the past several years they have used social media as a fact gathering tool and watched and recorded everything everyone has posted on it. As time goes on they will use what everyone is posting to determine if they can buy ammo or have a license for this https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/5717 so as soon as everyone realizes that they are telling them(on the news) they are using the social media to track them with they will realize that they don't have freedom of speech any longer because they will realize they are just hurting their own selves by talking in the first place. So one by one we will forfeit our right to exercise freedom of speech by closing the accounts you speak of or just by not speaking on them.

At some point I think it will dawn on everyone that in the last four years they felt comfortable talking and realize why they were led into dozing...

Platform companies have finally come to grips with their roles as owners of battlefields.

By the numbers, no person in human history has shared more conspiracy theories with a greater number of people than Donald J. Trump. Among all the momentous events of the last week, the silencing of his social-media megaphones is a “yuge” moment not just for American politics but a host of issues from public health to national security.

In researching LikeWar, Emerson Brooking’s and my book on the weaponization of social media, I actually went back and read every single @realdonaldtrump tweet, going back to his very first: a May 4, 2009, announcement of his upcoming appearance on the Letterman show. As you sift through the more than 57,000 tweets that follow, the sheer scale of the lies and insults becomes mind-numbing. (I joke about my “information warfare PTSD.”) Yet what is also notable is how many conspiracy theories Trump both started or massively elevated long before becoming president. They ranged from well-known lies like birtherism to other ones that are even more despicable in retrospect, like fueling anti-vaccine myths.

Most importantly, we found that Trump was spectacularly effective in persuading others to spread his conspiracy theories. Our research showed that, just like in public health, superspreaders are the key to virality. The path to making the internet less toxic is placing limits on these superspreaders, be they ISIS propagandists or right-wing extremists. Instead of trying to police everyone, we must focus on key nodes that affect everyone.

Banning Trump is obviously the headline event for social media, but it reflects a larger policy shift by the companies that created and run these now-essential networks. These firms are now making content moderation decisions based increasingly not just on whether a user or a post violated their rules, but what effect these might have on people off the network. This was already shifting as firms adjusted to reduce COVID-19 misinformation, but hit its culmination in Trump’s ejection.

people are prone to give up freedoms if they believe you will take care of them. The United States is about to enter into a state of captivity and willfully walk into it with both eyes open. Just like the Jews in 1939 just like the Hebrews in the old testament who said " temple of the lord" Ichabod. This nation has forgotten God days without numbers. Blessed is the "Nation" whose God is the Lord, but sin is a reproach to any people".

I saw the last fours years as time of grace and to get our house in order. I had been praying God would give us more time. HE clearly has other plans.

I agree. People should realize that they used the SM to Identify the protesters of both sides(L/R) in every event that took place the last several years and never hid that they were doing it. You can magnify that though, for instance can you imagine how dangerous it would be if those who can identify the MoTB blurted it out on SM? Which then means that if it's on the www it's no real threat to the booger man,lol.

Yes, I deleted Twitter and also deactivated Facebook. Haven't checked Facebook for a few days and I don't miss it. I also googled my name and removed my pages from a few other sites such as MyLife (you have to call customer service for some of these sites).

I wonder how many so called "friends" and all the "oh let's keep in touch!!!!! (but only if it's through social media)" family members will start writing back when I send them (actual, snail mail, old fashioned) cards now?????
Never have been a fan of social media.
Lost count of how many events and activites my kiddos have missed out on for school because it was ONLY posted on FB pages.

Google made the decision to cut ties with parlersb because of parlersfailure to moderate inappropriate content like hate speech and threats of violence
I'm pretty sure Google made this decision to protect themselves from liability

that not true. they have and were. right now Twitter has the Iran Leader has a Twitter account but the POTUS was closed. FB and Twitter all failed by that standard is it fake and a violation of the first amendment and they're being sued Just like FB loss to Candice Owens they will lose too.
