it showed up on Google search but not part of CC, meaning probably taken from somewhere on the net.
But you said no other image sizes were found. Wouldn't that mean it was not taken from the net?

Research postmortem evangelism. It is Biblical that souls in prison have been preached to before. Whether or not this is a regular practice that God does or if it is only for special circumstances I do not know either. This isn't a popular doctrine, but it's Biblical. Consider these verses:

Death does not separate us from God's love:
Romans 8:38-39
38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The dead who have not heard the Gospel of Christ are given it in order for them to have a chance to be fairly judged:
1 Peter 4:5-6
5Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. 6For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

The dead will also hear the voice of Jesus:
John 5:25,28
25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

The wicked who died in the days of Noah went to "prison" and later got preached to, after death:
1 Peter 3:18-20
18For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

I thought about this before posting. Not sure but I think this was done for all those that had died under the old covenant. So that they would have the same chance as everyone else after Jesus' atonement. Just my thoughts on it, anyways.

Can people in hell repent and turn to God? Do they still have free will
If free will exists in heaven, does that mean it's possible for people in heaven to rebel against God the same way some angels did ???
Hello Taylorswiftfan, those are some great/important questions to consider, but I can think of one that you didn't ask (which may be helpful in answering the others).

We know that God has free will, but we also know that He has not sinned/will not ever sin. Why do you think that is

Thanks :)

~Deut
p.s. - so you'll have my answers to your questions above, they are "no", "yes" and "no" .. and my answer to "if free will still exists in Heaven" is "yes, it will still exist for us in Heave
n".

Good question. After reading Romans 2, I'm inclined to believe that those who were trying to be justified by the law will end up being judged by it.

can people in hell repent and turn to God
"[O Lord,] Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there." - Psalm 139:7-8 (KJV) -- (note: hell reads differently in other translations for this passage, e.g. "realm of the dead" etc.)

"[Jesus:] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." - Revelation 1:18 (KJV)

"And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:" - Matthew 9:43 (KJV).

"For our God is a consuming fire." - Hebrews 12:29 (KJV)

"He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption" - Act 2:31 (KJV)

"[An angel] cast [Satan] into the bottomless pit [for 1000 years]" = Revelation 20:3 (KJV)

"[Beheaded martyrs] lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection." - Revelation 20:4-5 (KJV)

"...the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.... And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." - Revelation 20:10,13-15 (KJV)

There is a lot of imagery going on in the passages. It is established that everyone comes back to life for judgement but it is not established that the dead can't repent and turn to God. In fact, it is part of Roman Catholic tradition to pray for the dead on all-hallows eve with the concept that the veil between the realm of the living and the realm of the dead is thinned.

Moot point rather 😆
It's not moot. Can you imagine ....a will united to God's will...in heaven, you don't will something because it's good, it's good because you will it.

"[O Lord,]...it is part of Roman Catholic tradition to pray for the dead on all-hallows eve with the concept that the veil between the realm of the living and the realm of the dead is thinned.
Hello Jocund, Roman Catholicism teaches the concept of Purgatory as a place of final purification, but only for those who died "in Christ" (by which the RCC means with all of their "mortal" sins forgiven them), not for those who died outside of Christ. Their 'prayers for the dead' are for the "saints" in Purgatory, not for the reprobate/those who die outside of Christ who and are consigned to Hell.

Here's some of what the Catechism of the Catholic Church has to say in regard to this.
1021 Death puts an end to human life as the time open to either accepting or rejecting the divine grace manifested in Christ.592 The New Testament speaks of judgment primarily in its aspect of the final encounter with Christ in his second coming, but also repeatedly affirms that each will be rewarded immediately after death in accordance with his works and faith. The parable of the poor man Lazarus and the words of Christ on the cross to the good thief, as well as other New Testament texts speak of a final destiny of the soul--a destiny which can be different for some and for others.593
1022 Each man receives his eternal retribution in his immortal soul at the very moment of his death, in a particular judgment that refers his life to Christ: either entrance into the blessedness of heaven-through a purification594 or immediately,595 -- or immediate and everlasting damnation.596 At the evening of life, we shall be judged on our love.597
1030 All who die in God's grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven.
1031 The Church gives the name Purgatory* to this final purification of the elect, which is entirely different from the punishment of the damned.
*(just to be clear, I do not believe the RCC's Purgatory to be either correct or Biblical as we are saved by God's grace alone, which is wholly merited for us by the Lord Jesus and what He did for us .. IOW, He is our righteousness, period .. 2 Corinthians 5:21)
1033 To die in mortal sin without repenting and accepting God's merciful love means remaining separated from him for ever by our own free choice.
1035 The teaching of the Church affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, "eternal fire."617 The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs.

What conclusion can we make about where the dead are that get preached to postmortem? Is there a purgatory?
I don't have a problem with Jesu

My point was once your in heaven or hell there is no switching sides. I believe even that once a person receives Christ there's no switching sides . After death there is no second chance for the person who's not recieved Christ .
