does this mean that Adam and Eve would be immortal in the spiritual sense if they never sinned ???
If they ate from the Tree of Life, they would have attained to life ever after.

But they did not, and God prevented them from doing so in their fallen state.

No, because they were created mortal as all creations are. Nothing is created immortal but immortality can be achieved.
romans 5:12 said that Adam brought sin into the world and that sin brought death into the world

so regardless of whether death meant death in the physical sense or spiritual sense or both, without that death we would be immortal either in the spiritual sense or physical sense or both ???

They were of the natural world. Spiritual rebirth is a requirement to attain to life ever after.

Jesus said, "You must be born again."

They were not. In fact, God said they would die that day.

Still, Adam lived to the age of 930, I think it was.

Freaking long time compared to our life spans.

Neither of them were born at all. Adam was created of earthy elements. He was of the natural world.
And Eve was taken and formed out of Adam. Bone of his bone, and flesh of his flesh. Natural.

Don't overlook that God prevented them from eating of the Tree of Life after sinning
specifically to prevent them from attaining to life ever after in their fallen state.

Spiritual death would mean hell. But Adam and Eve still had a relationship with God.

Everyone is born spiritually dead to God.

Ephesians 2:1-3 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

Not Adam or Eve. They brought it on themselves and mankind. I'm saying though that God did not leave them there. I believe they are in Heaven too.
I already said, they were not born at all.

Scripture says God alone is immortal.

Adam and Eve were of the natural world.

And they did not eat from the Tree of Life.

Where they are is anyone's guess.

I didn't say they were born either. They still followed God after the fall. God judges those before the written laws differently. Jesus even went to preach to these people once he released His Spirit in death.

if people are naturally mortal, does that mean when people go to hell, they don't suffer for all of eternity

They aren't born that way but sinning makes them spiritually dead.

We are born fallen. And spiritually dead. Which is why we need to be born again.

We are very close in our views :D

My community church zoom meeting starts soon :geek:

See you later :)

Once you have passed from life you have no chance. You will be judged and that is the end? Take the rich man as an example, after he lifted his eyes in Hell he was surely a believer and knew it was real, but there was no choice or chance for him to repent. He just wanted someone to warn his brothers since they were alive and still had a chance to repent.

To me that pretty well spells it out...You live, you die, and then the judgment.
The rich man was in Sheol and Lazarus was in Abraham's Bosom (a.k.a. Paradise). These are separate from the place of the final judgement.

We attain to life ever after by grace through faith :)
Very true. You have made a good and true point...

1 Timothy 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Only He can give it because only He has it.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The everlasting death that you mentioned in your artwork is a result of damnation meted out at the GWT Judgement. It is a curse, just as our eternal life is a blessing. Thank you for bringing that out.

Do you believe that no one will go to hell to be punished or tormented for their un-repented of sins?

Agreed. That is when the souls will become immortal. No souls is immortal before that.
John
5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
