obviously you dont !
Typical response when one cannot defend their own opinions.

And again, the fact that you aren't interested in what the Bible says about election says everything.

iow, your mind is made up, so you don't want to be bothered by the facts.

I gave scripture, you ignored it.
OK, let's examine this claim.

Your FIRST post in this thread was #286. No Scripture. Just opinion.
Second post #289, where you mentioned Eph 1:4 and your opinion about what it teaches.
Third post #292, 4th #298 and 5th post #300, NO Scriptures.

Then, in post #302, which I am responding to, you claim the above.

When you mentioned Eph 1:4 and gave your opinion about it, all of my responses have been about what it obviously does say and mean.

In any case, you dont understand these things.
In any case, your claim is false.

And you still demonstrate your disinterest in verses that plainly STATE the purpose of God's election.

And yet you have the gall to claim that I don't understand these things. You don't want FACTS. And I don't want your opinion.

Unless you become interested in what the Bible says about the purpose of God's election, there is no need to respond to this post.

Speaking of who is ignoring what, I proved from Scripture that the "us" in 1:4 refers to believers, which proves that Eph 1:4 is NOT about being chosen for either salvation or being born again, which you indicated was your understanding.

Or, don't you read the posts of others? And I acknowledged that you cited Eph 1:4 in only 1 of your 5 posts.

Why are you ignoring my proof from Scripture?

It is obvious to me that you aren't interested in any verses that state the purpose of election, so why are you continuing to post to me?

If you were interested in the truth, you would have wanted to see the verses that plainly state the purpose of election.

So, let's do it this way. Please quote any verse that says that salvation is by election.

You really do have a problem. You don't want to understand.

There are things I don't understand and I admit it.

But to REJECT receiving understanding is unbelievable. Only deep soul searching will reveal the problem.

Seems to me you have the problem.
Why aren't you interested in verses that clearly STATE the purpose of God's election?

Whatever.

For those who read threads, but never post, this is for them.

Regarding Jesus Christ:

Matt 12:18 - “Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations.

Mark 10:45 - For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life a ransom for many (the masses).

1 Pet 2:6 - For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”

Regarding the 12 disciples/apostles:

John 6:70 - Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!”

Regarding Paul:

Acts 9:15 - But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.

Acts 20:24 - However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.

Acts 22:10 - "'What shall I do, Lord?' I asked. "'Get up,' the Lord said, 'and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.’

Acts 22:14, 15 - 14 “Then he said: ‘The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. 15 You will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard.

Acts 26:16 - ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me.

Regarding angels:

1 Tim 5:21 - I charge you, in the sight of God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, to keep these instructions without partiality, and to do nothing out of favoritism.

Heb 1:7 - In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.”

Heb 1:14 - Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

Rev 19:10 - At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

Regarding believers:

1 Cor 1-
27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,

1 Peter 1-
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,
2 who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

Regarding believers, the red words identify the subject is God's election.

The blue words refer to the PURPOSE of God's election.

Note that none of these verses mentions salvation or being born again.

And after all your wasted posts, you haven't provided ANY verse that says that salvation is by election.

OK, now I see your problem. You are totally misreading v.21.

The "they" of v.21 refers to the "many thousands of Jews who have believed". Clearly. Now, the problem. You have to ask yourself WHO "informed THEM" (the many thousands of Jews) that Paul was teaching "all the Jews to turn away from Moses, etc"?\

What you obviously don't realize is that these "many thousands of Jews" were being LIED to by the orthodox unbelieving Jews, who only wanted to get Paul into trouble. Haven't you ever read through Acts before? The unbelieving Jews were ALWAYS opposing Paul and His message. And they had no problem LYING about him.

iow, the charges in v.21 were LIES. Not the truth.

To prove that the charges in v.21 were LIES, obviously.

Sure. They wanted Paul to prove to the "many thousands of Jews" who had been LIED to that Paul never taught Gentiles what the unbelieving Jews were accusing him of.

Problem solved.

Now all that's left is for you to repent of your confused view. :)
Galatians 5:2 "Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing."

The problem with your reasoning is that Paul did teach in Galatians that physical circumcision will result in Christ profiting one nothing.

Galatians was completed before the events in Acts 21.

So James and the elders were correct in Acts 21:21, Paul did taught what he was being accused of teaching.

Knowing that, did James and the elders remind the Jewish believers that "Actually Paul is correct, there is no need for physical circumcision any more for the gentile believers, and since there is no distinction in the Body of Christ (as Freegrace 2 is claiming they believe in), that also applies to you"?

No, they asked Paul to participate in a Jewish Law ceremony so that Paul could "satisfy" the demands of those Jewish believers, that he is also zealous for the Law.

The problem with your reasoning is that Paul did teach in Galatians that physical circumcision will result in Christ profiting one nothing.

Galatians was completed before the events in Acts 21.
Were you there? Did you check your calendar?

Look, the point of Gal 5:2 is that IF IF IF the Galatians thought that circumcision resulted in salvation, as the Pharisee party was claiming, they would be nullifying the truth that salvation is in Christ alone.

So James and the elders were correct in Acts 21:21, Paul did taught what he was being accused of teaching.
You just keep misreading Scripture.

In fact, Paul taught the OPPOSITE of what you opine.

Knowing that, did James and the elders remind the Jewish believers that "Actually Paul is correct, there is no need for physical circumcision any more for the gentile believers, and since there is no distinction in the Body of Christ (as Freegrace 2 is claiming they believe in), that also applies to you"?

I recommend that you read through the entire chapter 15 of Acts. It's all laid out clearly.

No one was ever saved by circumcision.

My responses to your posts should show you that your posts need clarifying.

Whatever point you're trying to make about circumcision hasn't come through.

Paul never taught that circumcision was required for salvation. But that was what the believers in the Pharisee party believed.

Again, Acts 15 should clear up the issue about circumcision.

when I use Galatians 5:2, I was saying Paul taught that physical circumcision results in Christ profiting one nothing, and that is precisely what the Jewish believers were accusing Paul of teaching.

I don’t know how in the world you can twist that to me saying Paul taught circumcision was required for salvation.

I didnt twist anything. I was responding to what you posted.

So, given all this, what is your point exactly? Aren't you advocating for some kind of difference between NT believers and the "Israel of God"?
