The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. When He opens the scriptures and gives you understanding, there's no need to ask someone else if it is correct. You'll know.(y)
John 14:26KJV
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

What is it you mean exactly by “holy spirit baptism’s”?
You’re probably asking @ronair to answer your question but, the following is what I know to be true:

The Father sends His Word and His Spirit to accomplish His Will.

Jesus Christ came to Earth as The Word of God and fulfilled ALL the written Law and ALL the Prophets had written, then He poured out His Blood so our sins are forgiven and gave His Body to us as a gift of Righteousness - the human fulfillment of the Law.

Now, the Holy Spirit is on the Earth and has a work to do in us that is according to the Father’s Will, also.

We are to be:
SEALED with the Holy Spirit;
BAPTIZED with the Holy Spirit; and
FILLED with the Holy Spirit.

We just need to let Jesus Christ (The Word) and the Holy Spirit do their work in us and stop resisting, denying, quenching and grieving the Holy Spirit.

Let them accomplish the Father’s Will in us!(y)

Here's one of my favorites..... it really upsets the "Pharisees".....lol! :giggle:

1 John 2:27 King James Version (KJV)
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

That's the Holy Spirit teaching us.....all we got to do is ask questions while we are reading the Bible. It's amazing what He will show us in the scriptures....there's soooooo much hidden manna!(y)

Reminds me of church pastors who opt not to prepare for their sermons, but claim this verse, together with other similar promises like Matthew 10:19, basically claiming promises that were not written to them.

So, what exactly are you trying to say.......

Matthew 10:19 King James Version (KJV)
19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

Yes, if the Holy Spirit does abide in a person, they are going to seek the truth, persevere in the faithfulness of sound doctrine and not caving in to the attacks of the deceivers against the word with their lies.

Spending time in the scriptures asking the Holy Spirit questions and letting Him teach us, then preparing a sermon.......now, that's fresh bread!

The Pharisees saw that the disciples were unlearned but, the disciples had been with Jesus and knew soooooo much more than the Pharisees....... just sit with the Bible, read slowly, and ask questions constantly......have some "selah" moments.....pause and think about that! If a pastor does this, he'll always have a sermon!(y)

Every believer is Holy Spirit baptized into Christ the moment they are saved. The multiple baptisms of the Pentecostal charismatic types are not valid because they are not scriptural.

For the cause of Chrisst
Roger
"Yes the Pentecostals in the majority that I have personally witnessed, misuse the gift of speaking in tongues to mention only one, jumping and running around, rolling on the floor etc in complete chaos, the very reason why biblical instruction was written"

misuse?.....how about faking.
There is the real and the fake, sometimes in the same meeting. I was a member of a charismatic church for some years and youth leader at a Pentecostal church for several years also. I found there is a profound lack of discernment among many Pentecostals. Some denominations teach that a Christian cannot have a demon. This is false. It's no wonder that so many are deceived, because they make a false assumption that everything that is not natural must be of God. However, that does not make the real experience invalid. The book of Acts makes it clear that receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a valid and separate gift. It's a shame that there is so much emphasis on tongues. It's the least of the gifts and all too easy to counterfeit.

I was baptised in the Holy Spirit Christmas Eve 1974. I wrestled with the idea for 3 years prior. I was eventually convinced and received this great blessing. There is zero biblical justification for rejecting the gift. It's needed more than ever as the church becomes so much weaker and more insipid.

If a person resists, quenches and grieves the Holy Spirit then, perhaps they will not be able to receive the words that would have been given to them.....

Holy Spirit, You are welcome to flow freely in and through me whenever the Father desires, amen!(y)

May I always have an answer for those that ask why I am filled with hope and not fearful of death!(y)

When you boss pays you your wages, are you also entitled to the wages of the other workers?

Sounds a lot like “works” to me.... thinking a GIFT has to be earned and paid as wages....

When someone gives you a GIFT, do you NOT open it...

Its the same principle. When you give a gift to A and another gift to B, can A claim the gift that was given to B too?

For anyone who hasn't been brainwashed into a cult:

II Corinthians chapter 1

[20] For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
[21] Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
[22] Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

That is probably the no 1 verse that is misapplied by Word of Faith churches when they try to claim the promises in the OT for themselves.

God promise Abraham he will be a nation, can I claim that for myself too?
God promise the 12 disciples 12 thrones to judge the 12 tribes of Israel, can I claim that for myself too?

Perhaps you missed the "in him" part?

Try reading it again.

Alright then, so you do agree that we cannot anyhow claim promises given to Israel for us.

That was all I was trying to say.

It is sad to watch these folks in their delusionary seductions by the father of lies as they try desperately to find true meaning in their empty lives through one short lived emotional trip’n event, to the next short lived trip’n event.
