Whether or not you wish to cause arguments and divisions, those already exist. However I am in full agreement with you (or should I say with the Word of God).

God has plainly forbidden women to be (1) pastors, (2) teachers, or (3) elders within the local church in order to exercise authority over the assembly. And the reasons have also been clearly stated. Also, the husband is the head of the wife, therefore Christian women (whether single or married) must cover their heads and hair during worship (1 Corinthians 11).

There are other threads which have discussed this matter at length. Absolutely no one will change their minds regarding this (or any other matter) if they have committed themselves to false doctrine. You can show then 100 Scriptures, but it makes no difference. The same applies to Calvinists, or other groups with unscriptural beliefs. The love for false teachings generally exceeds the love of the truth.
You are overstating the point. Women indeed may be teachers and prophets. A good example of someone who goes about teaching the right way is Joyce Meyer. First, her primary focus is women and women's issues. However, most biblical principles are not gender specific. She teaches and lives submission to her husband. She is not in charge of a church. Men attend her meetings, but no one is obliged to.

I was once totally against women teaching or preaching. I've had to modify my views of the role of women in the church, as I have with many other misunderstandings that I've had. One prayer that God has answered is that I be teachable. That means I have to be prepared to accept that I have been wrong.

Todays so called, self annointed PROPHETS never have 100% true prophecies!!!!!!!!!

They speak partial truths, that this nation needs to repent, which is true, however that is NOT a prophecy at all! There prophecies about what's coming do not pan out.
well since you didn't want to call God a lier at 1 Corinthians 12:28, which is good on your part, now lets get to your next statement here above, and here below..
Notice........Not even ONE of them saw what was coming for the NY tragedy on September 11, 2001 which should settle this matter for good. As Deut 13:1-4 says, (see below) we are to ignore them. We should be analyzing scripture instead. Who is it who wants us to get our eyes off scripture, anyway???
see Major you're looking to prophets in the world, and the devil have them there, but read the scriptures, 2 Timothy 2:3 "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."
2 Timothy 2:4 "No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier." (You might want to read that again).
2 Timothy 2:5 "And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully."

don't get upset with false prophets, God just expose them, nor go after them. see, Major, you're in Christ, and not the world. yes we live in the World, but are not apart of it. it's ok to be concern of the the affairs of this World, but "TO WORRY ABOUT IT?". one don't need a prophet to us what happens to the world, or in it, the bible has already told us.

also understand this, "a half truth is nothing but a full LIE in disguise". in simply christian language, it's called "DECEPTION". why look to so-called prophets. you quoted the right scripture, listen to yourself.
"If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 3Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him."
so why put stock in anything they, (the world prophets), say? just as was with Mother Eve, what did the devil say, "Ye shall not surely die", when God almighty said "you eat you will die, from the forbidden fruit". see, nothing has changed.

God is correct, Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

notice in the very first part of the scripture, "My people are destroyed". see Major you're God's people, and you're being destroyed for lack of knowledge. now I appeal to your common sense, listen just because you read something, do you have full UNDERSTANDING of what you're reading?. example, 1 Corinthians 14:34 "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law."

was the apostle even speaking to women? NO, I say again, NO. if I said, "Let your children stop running around in Church services". question am I speaking to you, or your children? answer, I'm speaking to you about your children. now back to 1 Corinthians 14:34. listen to the very next verse, 1 Corinthians 14:35 "And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."

major, what kind of "Women" have a husband? answer, a married one.... a wife. the term Women here is G1135 γυνή gune (ǰ ï-nee') n.
1. a woman.
2. (specially) a wife.
[probably from the base of G1096]
KJV: wife, woman
Root(s): G1096

only "women" who are married has HUSBANDS. see it now? just read the context of the scriptures, they will explain themselves.

the same in 1 Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."
here "Woman" is Wife, how do we know this, just as we did in 1 Corinthians 14:34 & 35 by reading the context of the scriptures, listen,

1 Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."
1 Timothy 2:13 "For Adam was first formed, then Eve."
1 Timothy 2:14 "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."
1 Timothy 2:15 "Notwithstanding
she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety."

verse 15 tells us that the "Women" here is a "WIFE", again, only a "WIFE" suppose to bare CHILDREN. see how easy it is to find the truth. just have the Holy Ghost as TEACHER, and for us, a good bible dictionary.

IN ALL THY GETTING... GET UNDERSTANDING.

My dear friend. That is a lot of work just to say...........
"so why are not Prophets ordained in todays churches, and the bible is full of women Prophets."

So what your thesis is, is that because there are women prophets those women should be ordained Pastors, REGUARDLESS OF WHAT THE SCRIPTURES SAY!

Well....hole on my friend, because there is NO SUCH THING AS PROPHETS TODAY!

Therefore your thesis is totally invalid!

There are no prophets today in the same sense as there were under the old covenant and in the apostolic church. Before the canon of Scripture was complete, God used prophets to maintain order and teach correct doctrine. After the canon was completed, however, prophecy began to be more of a problem than a help.

Todays so called, self annointed PROPHETS never have 100% true prophecies!!!!!!!!!

They speak partial truths, that this nation needs to repent, which is true, however that is NOT a prophecy at all! There prophecies about what's coming do not pan out.

How many so called Prophets saw and said that TRUMP was going to win......NONE!
How many said that he was going to win a second term??

All those so-called "prophets", like false Prophet Kim Clement and who , claimed Trump would win a 2nd term is one that comes to my mind.

Jude 3-4.........
"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ."

The author of Hebrews also said the prophets of the Old Testament were no longer needed because now we have the words of the Son of God himself:

Heb. 1_1-3.............
" In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.";(Heb 1;1-3)

Christ was the Last Prophet so there are No Prophets Today!

Notice it says "in the past" God spoke thru the prophets but NOW he speaks thru the Son and He does this through the Word in the Holy Bible. This should be enough to squelch this argument of any more of them being needed since Christ-- He was the last one that was to come that God promised to Moses (Deut 18:18).

Now there is enough information for you to chew on and disagree with so.......have fun!

I am not sure I agree that there are no prophets today. In the ancient times, there were prophets saying, "thus saith the Lord ..." then what proceeded from their mouths was spoken by the Holy Spirit.

Today, the 21st century prophets do the same thing by cutting and pasting scripture. Anyone that transmits God's word to another can be considered a prophet.

If I want to prophesy to you, I won't say, "thus saith the Lord ..." I'll just cut, paste and post it. The words posted aren't mine just as the words spoken through prophets of old aren't theirs.

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

CORRECT, and thank you, for you have defeded your ownself, by saying that Christ is the LAST PROPHET, which is correct, because all prophets, teachers, and apostles ARE IN, IN, IN HIM. and IN CHRIRT, there is neither male, nor FEMALE. lets hear the scripture,

Galatians 3:27 "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ."

Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." (BINGO, THERE IT IS).

Galatians 3:29 "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

THANK YOU MAJOR, YOU HAVE ANSWERED YOUR OWN QUESTION. he is the ONLY, A. Preacher, B. Pastor, C. Prophet, and D. Apoistle IN, IN, IN, his church. and we HIS BODY, are, IN, IN, IN, him, for he has set........ 1 Corinthians 12:28 "And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues."

understand Major, all these "WORKS"/Office is his GIFTS to work in US, WHO ARE BAPTIZED OF "HIM".
now are WOMEN "BORN AGAIN?" yes, and they have just as much RIGHT to the OBLY LIVING TREE, (JESUS), as any Man, (Male), because GOD IS NO RESPECTOR OF PERSON". for IN Christ there is neither male nor Female.

see how God lead you into the TRUTH, and you didn't even KNOW IT. it took another christian to reveal it to you..... YOUR OWN "WORDS".

Correct.....in "ANCIENT TIMES" before the Word of God was canonized.

God us ed Prophets to speak for Him in those day but Hebrews 1:1-2..........
"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds".

Luke 9:35............
“This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to Him!”

The Greek phrase, “in these last days,” is found in the Septuagint, where it often refers to the day of Messiah.

Dr. F. F. Bruce in his paper on Hebrews (p. 3) says......
“His word was not completely uttered until Christ came; but when Christ came, the word spoken in Him was indeed God’s final word…. The story of divine revelation is a story of progression up to Christ, but there is no progression beyond Him.”

IF you want to PROPHESY to me today......You must post the BOOK, the CHAPTER and the VERSE from the Bible!!!!

Acts 2:17 has nothing to do with this subject. Peter quoted Joel 2 and Joel clearly said that in "THE LAST DAYS' those things would happen. Acts 2 was the coming of the Holt Spirit and the start of the church so it has no application to the subject at hand.

IF you want to call someone who TEACHES the Word of God a prophet, then I have no problem with that at all.

The gift of prophet (Ephesians 4:11) seems to have been a temporary gift given by Christ for the laying of the foundation of the church. Prophets were foundational to the church (Ephesians 2:20). The prophet proclaimed a message from the Lord to the early believers.

Sometimes a prophet’s message was revelatory (new revelation and truth from God) and sometimes a prophet’s message was predictive (see Acts 11:28 and 21:10). The early Christians did not have the complete Bible. Some early Christians did not have access to any of the books of the New Testament. The New Testament prophets “filled the gap” by proclaiming God’s message to the people who would not have access to it otherwise. The last book of the New Testament (Revelation) was not completed until late in the first century. So, the Lord sent prophets to proclaim God’s Word to His people.

If the purpose of a prophet was to reveal truth from God, why would we need prophets if we have the completed revelation from God in the Bible? If prophets were the “foundation” of the early church, are we still building the “foundation” today? Can God give someone a message to deliver to someone else? Absolutely! Does God reveal truth to someone in a supernatural way and enable that person to deliver that message to others? Absolutely! But is this the biblical gift of prophecy? No.

There is the issue of appearance. Jesus is the head of the church. Man is the church. (When I speak of man or men, I speak of our species. No one needs gender clarification when speaking about dogs, birds, cats, fish, etc., because we all understand they are all made up male and female. In today's world, politically, that's not acceptable to be nongender specific anymore.)

Man does not have any authority in Christ's church. They are to learn in silence and not speak.

Jesus is the head of salvation and his saving word/doctrine.
Jesus is the head of man.
Jesus is the head of the church body. (made up of man)
Jesus is the head of the bride. (made up of man)

For women to hold positions of authority in the church or be in any position to teach doctrine gives the appearance that man has authority in the church which contradicts Jesus' overall authority.

As a woman, this is not offensive to me.

first, thanks for the reply, second, lets take one thing at a time.
#1. are you saying God lied... when he said that HE "set" in his church apostles first, prophets second, and teachers third? I hope not. I can care less about selt appointed prophets, apostles, teachers, and Pastors.
God said HE has "set" in his church. READ 1 Corinthians 12:28, now, do you denie God's Holy Word, yes or no?

Actually......I am very tried of you placing words in my mouth. That is a real sign of immaturity and ignorance.

Why would I call God a liar??????

God did do exactly as He said He would do in 1 Corth. I NEVER said that He didn;t!

However, what you fail to grasp is the gift of prophet seen in Eph. 4:11 was a temporary gift given by Christ for the laying of the foundation of the church. Prophets were foundational to the church. There was NO written direction then.

There were no means of passing information to churches

So then The prophet proclaimed a message from the Lord to the early believers. Sometimes a prophet’s message was revelatory (new revelation and truth from God) and sometimes a prophet’s message was predictive as seen in Acts 11:28 and 21"10.

The early Christians did not have the complete Bible.
The New Testament prophets “filled the gap” by proclaiming God’s message to the people who would not have access to it otherwise. The last book, the Revelation was not completed until late in the first century. So, the Lord sent prophets to proclaim God’s Word to His people.

But now we have the completed Word of God!

I may not understand "intricacies," but I think instinctively I understand the gist of matters. Disputing often happens at the level of "details." Overall, I see principle and the rest goes over my head.
When those detais go over your head....reach up and grab them because there is truth in detail.

Paul was never the pastor of a church or a deacon so your argument has no validity to it. Again, that is the process of RATIONALIZATION.
see, you're showing your ingorance. now what is the "WORK" of a Pastor, biblically?

your answer please.

I am not sure I agree that there are no prophets today.
That's certainly possible, or at least there are those who claim such a status. My FORMER best friend of 35 years used to tell me that "What I say has been established by God."

What makes these kinds of people so difficult to deal with is that anytime someone says something that goes against their "knowledge," that person is 100% of the time rendered to simply being wrong. Can't deal with "christians" like that.
