"Be ye kind one to another, Forgiving one another, Even As God, For
CHRIST's Sake, hath {Already} FORGIVEN you." (Ephesians 4 : 32 KJB!)

Precious friend, see you In God's Great GloryLand!!:)
Basically, there’s a difference between forgiving and moving on, and forgiving and taking “action” y’know?

My bad, when I said “a brother or sister is a brother or sister in Christ” I meant the fellow believer kind of brother not the family relational kind of brother.
All people are our brothers and sisters,, or we would need to judge them as to whether or not they belong to Christ, or are capable of belonging to Christ.

meditate on psalm 103:12

God removes our sins as far is as east is from the west.

also do you think that Jesus stuck around waiting for Judas to apologise. Or how about Peter, he forgave Peter and gave him something to do to make it up to him (feeding the sheep and lambs) and basically it was 'no hard feelings'

unlike unbelievers, we dont sue people just cos we may get offended at every little thing and want our revenge. Take it up with God and be healed of your hurt.

Hmm, would you be referring to everyone technically being children of God when you say we’re all brothers and sisters?

"But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,"—Philippians 3:13

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."—Philippians 4:8

"See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no 'root of bitterness' springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;"—Hebrews 12:15

It does no good to dwell on past hurts and grievances. If you're having trouble letting it go, tell the Lord about it and ask Him to help. :)

Hmm, I think I mostly wanted like, a verse (or verses) for moving on, I feel like forgiving is something that’s more well known :D
Thanks for the Clarification - how about This!:

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of The High Calling Of God In CHRIST JESUS." (Philippians 3 : 13-14 KJB!)

Precious friend, may you Be Very Richly Blessed!

I’m curious what you think of these verses and when they “apply” I guess.
Matthew 18:15-17
Galatians 6:1
Luke 17:3 (also see Luke 17:4, which provides more instruction in addition to the previous verse, I guess)

I believe this should be; forgiving as in Ephesians 4 : 32, And "forgetting/moving on," and dwelling on Philippians 4 : 6-8! vs:
not forgiving, but remembering, not "moving on," and, then wanting to "take action"...
I’m curious what you think of these verses and when they “apply” I guess.
Matthew 18:15-17
Luke 17:3 (also see Luke 17:4, which provides more instruction in addition to the previous verse, I guess)
The above "apply" to the Jews, In Israel {past and future}...

This applies To The Body Of CHRIST, Today!:

Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore
such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

This is not "taking action" because of our brother "offending us," but, that they
"have fallen" into sin, and have "separated" themselves from Christian "fellowship."

Kindness, then, is praying for them First, and, "bearing their burden with them,"
seeking to "help them" back to "restored fellowship." Amen?

"Consider thyself, lest we are also being tempted," would probably be like an idea like:

IF they "went back to drinking," to visit them in the bar, "to try to help them,"
which would then be a sinful NO-NO, if you understand what Scripture means...

So, in the case of "taking action for someone OFFENDING you," {which is Essentially
"letting someone Else rule your life, Instead Of CHRIST!}, Is again, Scripturally!:

Forgiving as in Ephesians 4 : 32, And "forgetting/moving on," and dwelling on
Philippians 4 : 6-8!

Hope this helps, and Precious friend, Please Be Very Richly Blessed!!

Hmm, interesting stuff.
When it comes to someone who is in a “separated” state from Christian “fellowship,” do you have a definitive way of describing what exactly that means?
Also, I’m not quite sure how like, ur point regarding part of the verse "...Consider thyself, lest we are also being tempted” (Galatians 6:1, part of it), pertains to that part of the verse, but maybe this lack of understanding is on my end as opposed to yours.

If you aren't talking about forgiveness and just about "letting it go" then a verse in proverbs was already presented and it's definitely worth a look :)

Proverbs applies to a lot of situations in life where scripture isn't "specific" and is useful applying generally from my perspective. Yet again though, there are some things in Proverbs that are quite specific and aren't mentioned elsewhere except preceptually (line upon line...)

In the last year it had been a while since I had dug in Proverbs instead of the occasional chapter and indeed there were a lot of things I forgot about that are pretty specific and it was pretty helpful going back through during a different season. Take care.

Hi everyone, I’m not sure if this post belongs here, but I’m going to try putting it here. I hope that’s okay.

So I was talking to this person.
And the way he said something kinda hurt my feelings.
Advice I was given by a different person was to move on and forgive them.

Would you guys happen to have a verse or verses that could be used as justification for this erm, position?
I’m not trying to judge him or anything, it’s just like, cuz of Thessalonians 5:21 yknow.
Maybe more details regarding my situation with the first person are needed for you guys, and I’m down to provide more information if y’all need it.
The Bible speaks of not being easily offended,
1st Corin. 13:5

never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong.

Eccles. 7: 21-22

21 Do not pay attention to every word people say,
or you may hear your servant cursing you—
22 for you know in your heart
that many times you yourself have cursed others.

I hope this helps.

“Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-38‬ ‭

mercy is interesting in that someone must first offend us , in order for us to show them mercy. Our judgement brother isn’t if we’re perfect well
Make it , but our judgement is according to the measure of mercy we give those who offend us

if we can’t forgive people who insult us , we stand no chance of forgiving real hurtful offense but we
Must forgive or we ourselves can’t count on being forgiven

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what your asking is central to Christianity God has been merciful to sinners and offered us salvation through repentance. We are to offer others the same mercy for thier trespasses against us

it’s how we’re going to be judged

“So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy;

and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Since all have sinned and no
Ones worthy , It seems perfect that the merciful are those who will receive mercy , the forgiving are forgiven ect

insults seek to disrupt the heart and mind and affect how you look at others offering grudge and distraction it’s an infiltration that causes turmoil it’s good advice to let it go and even pray for the person definaltely forgive them in prayer that has a way of helping us forgive and forget

“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any:

that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭11:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

pray about it brother ask the lord what to do , I bet he tells you to forgive and forget quickly

there is nothing wrong with letting them know how you feel. sometimes things are said and unknowing how they may have been taken.

I'm curious what he said to hurt your feelings.
Does he know you feel hurt? Did you consider talking to him about it?
Some people may offend you without even realizing, others do it with malice; in this latter case, I would avoid their presence.

However, if you go at the same church and partake the Holy Body and precious Blood of Jesus Christ, than yes, you should totally be in peace with him, with yourself and with God. So, either you talk to him and make peace, or you pray to God to give you power and wisdom to forgive him (and you don't have to talk to him, unless you want to, but I'm guessing not).

Jesus Christ commands us to forgive and love each other; that doesn't mean to pretend (or lie to yourself) -in the name of what you're supposed to do/be - that you forgive and love a person. Be honest with what you feel. Be honest with God, for He knows our hearts.

To forgive is not normal. Christianity invented this. And Christianity, as you all here know, is not normal. Forgiveness is gratuitous, it is based solely on your faith in Jesus Christ, not on the apology of the person who hurt you.

Hey everyone, I’d like to let you all know that at this point it was a while back and I don’t think it’s worth bringing up.
It was with someone whose face I’ve never seen and who I’ve only talked with on the phone for like a few occasions.
It might be awkward to bring it up now.
He didn’t seem to be try to be mean or anything like that, I think something he said just came off the wrong way in a certain tone.
I’m not sure I’d even be able to talk to him since I might have to call a certain number several times at different times to try to find him and I’d probably be bothering other people haha.

A person's wisdom yields patience;
it is to one's glory to overlook an offense.
(Proverbs 19:11)

I try so hard to overlook offenses from my sister.
But, she keeps offending me.

I'm not quite able to overlook offenses yet. But, I'm working on it.

Paul tells us to examine ourselves.
God deals with our motive more than our actions.
Is it possible you threw the first stone?
Not know the circumstance and what was said and done it's hard to answer but this has helped me a great deal dealing with offensive people.
