Oh I like your zeal in your quest on truth or common sense.

Have another one for ya.

Jesus returned to the tomb only to find his friend Lazarus dead and stinking.
Even his sister said your way to late to do anything for him.
Common sense told her and anyone else no use in disturbing this guy.
I hope you know the rest of the story.😏😏☺️☺️
John 11
Easy-to-Read Version
The Death of Lazarus
11 There was a man named Lazarus who was sick. He lived in the town of Bethany, where Mary and her sister Martha lived. 2 (Mary is the same woman who put perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) Mary’s brother was Lazarus, the man who was now sick. 3 So Mary and Martha sent someone to tell Jesus, “Lord, your dear friend Lazarus is sick.”

4 When Jesus heard this he said, “The end of this sickness will not be death. No, this sickness is for the glory of God. This has happened to bring glory to the Son of God.” 5 Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days 7 and then said to his followers, “We should go back to Judea.”

8 They answered, “But Teacher, those Jews there tried to stone you to death. That was only a short time ago. Now you want to go back there?”

9 Jesus answered, “There are twelve hours of light in the day. Whoever walks in the day will not stumble and fall because they can see with the light from the sun.[a] 10 But whoever walks at night will stumble because there is no light.”

11 Then Jesus said, “Our friend Lazarus is now sleeping, but I am going there to wake him.”

12 The followers answered, “But, Lord, if he can sleep, he will get well.” 13 They thought Jesus meant that Lazarus was literally sleeping, but he really meant that Lazarus was dead.

14 So then Jesus said plainly, “Lazarus is dead. 15 And I am glad I was not there. I am happy for you because now you will believe in me. We will go to him now.”

16 Then Thomas, the one called “Twin,” said to the other followers, “We will go too. We will die there with Jesus.”

Jesus in Bethany
17 Jesus arrived in Bethany and found that Lazarus had already been dead and in the tomb for four days. 18 Bethany was about two miles from Jerusalem. 19 Many Jews had come to see Martha and Mary. They came to comfort them about their brother Lazarus.

20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to greet him. But Mary stayed home. 21 Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But I know that even now God will give you anything you ask.”

23 Jesus said, “Your brother will rise and be alive again.”

24 Martha answered, “I know that he will rise to live again at the time of the resurrection on the last day.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection. I am life. Everyone who believes in me will have life, even if they die. 26 And everyone who lives and believes in me will never really die. Martha, do you believe this?”

27 Martha answered, “Yes, Lord. I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God. You are the one who was coming to the world.”

Jesus did it that way to make a point.

It was believed back then that the dead would hang around their body looking for a way to get back into the body. After the body started to smell the soul or spirit would leave. Jesus waited three days so he could prove that He is the Resurrection.

The Science I am using has nothing to do with Evolution which I do not believe.
I am using very basic Science. On earth by observation there is more salt water than fresh water. Mixing existing fresh water with existing salt water would not have enough effect on the salt water to make a big difference.

If water covered the highest mountain in the world it would be 29,000 feet
deep and where plant life and trees were would be at 12,558 Psi.
Wood is crushed at 450 psi.
Result all plant life at that depth is destroyed.
29,000 feet is 5 and a half miles deep. The Ocean is 2.3 Miles on average deep.

Somewhere between Hawaii and the Philippines near the small island of Guam, far below the surface of the water, sits the Mariana Trench, the deepest spot in the ocean. What’s down there?
HOW DEEP IS THE MARIANA TRENCH?
The Trench sits like a crescent-shaped dent in the floor of the Pacific Ocean, extending over 1500 miles long with an average width around 43 miles and a depth of almost 7 miles (or just under 36,201 feet). At that depth, the weight of all that water above makes the pressure in the Trench around 1000 times higher than it would be in, say, Miami or New York. Floor vents release bubbles of liquid sulfur and carbon dioxide. Temperatures are just above freezing, and everything is drowning in darkness.

For comparison, most ocean life lives above a depth of 660 feet. Nuclear submarines hover around 850 feet below the surface as they travel through the ocean waters. Whales aren’t usually seen below about 8,200 feet. The site of Jack and Rose’s true (albeit fictional) love, the sunken Titanic, can be found at 12,467 feet." https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-mariana-trench-is-7-miles-deep-whats-down-there/

The key to remember for all of us. One's interpretation of Scripture is not equal to Scripture itself in authority.

Yes one should use science,

but we should also understand that not everything we see today is as it was at the begining, Peter warned of mockers in the last day who would use this excuse to try to prove the Bible wrong..
No, we are looking at an interpretation of Scripture. our interpretation is not scripture itself.

Genesis 7:4

Easy-to-Read Version

4 Seven days from now, I will send much rain on the earth. It will rain for 40 days and 40 nights, and I will wipe everything off the face of the earth. I will destroy everything I made.”

Plants and Trees are living things. And, would be included otherwise Noah would not have taken seeds along.

Genesis 8:22
Easy-to-Read Version
22 As long as the earth continues, there will always be a time for planting and a time for harvest. There will always be cold and hot, summer and winter, day and night on earth.”
And he did just that

all was destroyed except for what was taken on the ark

think about it, if the whole earth was not flooded, there would be no need to save anything on the ark, in fact, noah spent a hundred building the ark. he and his family could have walked to a safe place he wouod NT have needed an ark,

slow moving “continental drift” and plates is significant to explain the fossils without a worldwide flood.
Fast moving plates would more readil explain how mountans got so large large, and better explain how fossils got there,

"In short, the “firmament” is a vast expanse, specifically the atmosphere or sky. The word is found only in the King James Version and other older translations of the Bible. " https://www.gotquestions.org/firmament-Bible.html

"
Ancient Israelites “saw” this barrier when they looked up. There were no telescopes, space exploration, or means of testing the atmosphere. They relied on what their senses told them. Even today, looking up at a clear sky in open country, the sky seems to “begin” at the horizons and reaches up far above. Ancient Israelites and others in that part of the world assumed the world was flat, and so it looked like the earth is covered by a dome, and the “blue sky” is the “water above” held back by the raqia. The translation “firmament” (i.e., firm) gets across this idea of a solid structure.

Biblical scholars agree on this understanding of raqia. For some Christians, however, this is troubling. How can the Bible, which is the inspired, revealed word of God, contain such an inaccurate piece of ancient nonsense? Hence, some invest a lot of time and energy to show that the raqia is not solid but more like the atmosphere. Often, the word “expanse” is the preferred translation because it does not necessarily imply something solid.

Yes firmamentm an iron firm surface. Hence the surface of the earth, which seperated the waters below in the great deep, from the waters above.

remember how the flood started, the fountains of the great deep burst open..these are the waters below the earth surface.
in fact. Two great digs have found this water, where no one though water could exist, because of the great pressures, it was heavy water,
Correct interpretation is expanse , not firmament.

Yes, it is a guess. But moses was told by God what to right moses did not witness any of these events. So when moses as told by God said the flood covered the highest mountain, I would not think God was trying to full noah into a worldwide flood but really only meant a local flood,
No English translations based on Tradition gives us the story. It is more likely Moses hearing the story of Noah from others gave him the story. The Jewish People was based on oral traditions.

Another view is Stories from other Nations gave him hints.

While we are on this, circle of the earth in Isaiah is the same word for firmament.

Isaiah 40:22
It is the Lord who sits above the circle of the earth. And compared to him, people are like grasshoppers. He rolled open the skies like a piece of cloth. He stretched out the skies like a tent to sit under.

Yeah? Who said the mountains where that high when the flood started? Who said it was not the thing which caused the flood to make the mountains to go that high? Your basing this whole thing on things which are not known.
Above is Known as begging the question.

Mountains and such form slowly. In Six thousand years there is no reason to believe that one was not that high.

HOW DEEP IS THE MARIANA TRENCH?

Mankind has been aware of Mountains for 6,000 years in the area of Israel. There is no recording in the Bible that there were major changes in the mountains.

So you do not think scripture is God breathed as Paul said
that explains a lot
I will move on

Hebrew רקיע, strictly speaking a mistranslation, as the original Hebrew term meant "expanse"
