Whether God sees fit to have an Angel involved in the delivery of prayers makes no difference to me. The verse clearly shows that those Christian Elders had possession of prayers sent by people on Earth. You asked earlier how Mary could hear millions of prayers all at once, maybe they’re collected like this verse shows.

The verse doesn’t give every detail so it doesn’t do any good to speculate. I just believe my request gets to them and it gets to God.

I think the scriptural arguments for/against have reached their conclusion on this topic. I think CS1 reported me or something, judging by the comments he made earlier (trying to ban me is my guess). So I may or may not get to talk with you later about other stuff.

**PLEASE REPORT HERESY**

All too often what gets reported as heresy is not, but I routinely find heretical posts that have never been reported.

the promotion of the RCC and its doctrine is seen as Heresy on CC BDF. as it has always been.

I don't "try" to ban anyone :) I am a moderator.

thank you.

Hopefully you wont be banned. While we dont agree is moot to me. As said, I have catholic friends and have no hard feelings.

I appreciate that. It’s good to talk with people who have different opinions.

You keep saying our beliefs are unbiblical yet I can defend my faith from the Bible on anything. What gets under your skin the most?
What gets under my skin...? Now you’re just being petty, I thought this was a discussion. I specifically pointed out catholic customs that contradict what the Bible says, such as Jesus being the only mediator between God whereas Catholics pray to Mary, relying too much on one person’s human intellect to understand the Bible, as well as the overemphasis on religious rituals which are also against God’s commandments in the Bible. I haven’t seen you refer to the Bible to justify any of that...

I don’t understand you then. You have been willingly talking back and forth with me, knowing I’m Catholic and that I’m going to likely take a Catholic position. But at the same time you don’t want Catholic “heretical” statements posted on the board. It’s like you’re trying to get me to say what I believe so you can ban me.

I didn’t mean anything by that “under your skin” comment. It’s just an expression I used to find out what bothers you the most.

Jesus is the only mediator that can reconcile us with God. Catholics absolutely believe that. That doesn’t mean that there are not ways that Christians can intercede for God. I can provide multiple examples if you want to hear them.

I don’t really understand what you mean about us relying too much on our own intellect, could you explain that? I actually think that’s what Sola Scriptura does, it puts everything on the person. We reject that.

Yes, I am always willing to expose false teaching and error. And knowing this is not RCC SITE which the founder doesn't hold to the false teaching of the RCC. It is not your opinion and our opinion No, you are in Biblical error and frankly not saying something we are. And you are unbiblical. I would not be given the same courtesy as you on a catholic site they make my forwardness look like a visit to Disneyland.
And think about what you just said here:

“heretical” statements posted on the board. It’s like you’re trying to get me to say what I believe so you can ban me."

If you are not saying what you truly believe then, you are being deceptive.

And here under false pretenses.

Did you come here to have a Biblical Discussion? Or in a subtle way try to take away the stigma associated with the RCC?

We have had satanist, atheists, JW's, Mormons, etc... They all have had their opportunity to explain the position just as you have.

Truth is not an opinion. Truth is just that. I have not once promoted my denomination and there are many here who disagree with mine, yet those same ones will agree even if they don't like me that the RCC is unbiblical, in error, and leading people from Christ. 100% agree with that statement. Yet Jesus can save those in the RCC and in the JW's and other false teachings When they hear the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mary is a human...who is also dead. God says specifically not to try to communicate with the dead...so what are people doing by praying to Mary? There is nothing in the Bible about being able to communicate with the dead besides in witchcraft. No one in scripture has had a relationship with the dead that was holy. To paint a better picture of what’s wrong with that custom. Plus, the Catholic Church places way too much emphasis on the leaders of the church. For instance, confession. They confess their sins to a human and that said human tells them what they need to do to fulfill God’s forgiveness. Then on top of that they call him Father. Deciding on how forgiven someone is...and then that person is called Father? Who are they acting like? Do you really not see the parallels between God’s place and the place those church leaders put themselves in? It’s very subtle, but it is human glorification, demonic and blasphemous. Don’t be fooled by Satan like those leaders...

People on this site are engaging me and talking to me because they want to, if what I’m saying is so offensive then everyone would have me on ignore. If you don’t ever want to have a discussion with me, you don’t have to.

First off, Mary is not dead. There are no dead Christians. You are either alive here on earth or you have eternal life in heaven. Our God is the God of the Living not the dead (Luke 20:38). Necromancy is most certainly a sin or trying to communicate with demons, none of that is happening. It is a one way message saying “pray for me”.

Your description of what happens in a confessional booth is totally inaccurate. I can explain why if would like. And Paul called himself Father.

first off you don't run this site and we do not allow the promotion of false teaching I told you that. I don't care if those here want to engage with you. I bet you have PMed many who are young in the Lord trying to influence them with your RCC doctrine. I don't ignore false teaching in this setting as a mod You did not get the hint many posts ago when I told you. Now you want to have a hold-hand moment LOL no.

Dead as in not in the human realm and God says specifically not to mind spirits in other realms besides the earthly one. There’s no way around it, Mary is a human who has died. She lives in heaven...which is a spiritual realm that humans on earth have no access. You don’t think demons can pretend to be Mary and influence you to do all sorts of things? That’s specifically why God speaks against minding other spirits. Mary is not communicating with you. Why would God allow her to do that but no one else who lived on earth and once died? She was not perfect, otherwise she would be Jesus. She was a Godly woman but she knew sin, because God specifically says Jesus was the only one on earth who knew no sin. She is not a mediator. She is a PHYSICALLY dead person. She does not have the power to speak to people from heaven as Jesus does. Where in the Bible does it say so? Also, you asked about the over-reliance on humans for biblical knowledge, I gave you an example.

I’m not surprised this is a serious question on this forum. None of you actually read what Catholics believe from the Catholic sources that spell it out clearly.
Here is your very first POST above you said

If it was not for this thread you would not have had a comment which leads me to believe it was planted for you in a troll-like manner. You from this very first post had false pretenses. So, please save me from your self-righteousness now ok. Been doing this too long.

You did not need me to trap you, you assumed we could not see right through your lie.

Believe it or not, it is actually possible to read the Bible and agree with what the early Church fathers believed. I believe what they believe not because they believed it. I saw the truth of what they believed in scripture for myself. It’s really arrogant the way many of you talk about the Bible, as if no one could possibly come to a different conclusion than you do.
I believe the point you are missing is that the RCC practices things that are in direct opposition to Word. Jesus warned about leaven. He said doctrine would become distorted via the church. Distortion can be found in both Catholic and Protestant churches. That is why it is so important to seek the truth with a prayerful heart. And because the bible clearly states that all prayer should be directed to God in the name of Jesus (1 Tim. 2:5) that is the way it should be done. One can be confident their prayers will be heard if they obey the words of Jesus. Unless I am mistaken Jesus has really taken a back seat in Catholicism. And it is He that should be the focal point in His church for He is the only savior has been given all authority in both Heaven and Earth.
.
Sorry if I came across as arrogant. That was definitely not my intention.

I’m struggling with something you said. You said “He said doctrine would become distorted via the church.” Where does it say the Church will distort doctrine? Paul called the church the pillar and bulwark of truth.
