This is interesting...W A R N I N G ! – Bible usage can be HABIT FORMING! Regular reading can cause loss of anxiety and fear, decreased appetite for lying, cheating,......stealing, hating, anger and envy. SYMPTOMS include: increased love, joy, peace, compassion and contentment. If SYMPTOMS PERSIST, just praise the Lord! Copy and repost if you don’t mind the SIDE EFFECTS of the Word of God.

There are already novelty warning labels available for distribution from the internet, I suspect they wouldn't be appreciated.

And these illusions go a long way to help people. For example the illusion tha there is a God somewhere willing to help you in times of trouble is what is keeping some people sane despite of the troubles and difficulties dat they're going through

As one of my atheist friends used to say: "If believing in God makes a person that is normally an ***hole a kind and charitable person; why not leave them be even if we think they're wrong?"

My 4 year old niece has imaginary friends who eat her plastic food she cooks in her fake oven. They don't do anything for her so I imagine one would not do much for you.
Jesus lived and died and rose again and is seated at the right Hand of God. He is a very relatable although not as compliant as an imaginary friend might be.

Do you seriously need to come to a Christian site and bring everyone down so you can feel superior?

Atheism is the most "preachy" religion in the world, of course they will try to get their message trough. accusing christians of brainwashing, not realizing what they do can be seen as the same...

Just to bring another representative from the 'atheist side' I'd like to say that I don't think Forlorn Hope is taking a good approach to expressing his opinion. No one is going to listen to anyone who states their point, but does not explain the reasons why they hold it, especially if it's done in a somewhat blunt/insulting manner. I don't think entering a Christian forum and just calling delusional fantasies on people could ever begin a meaningful exchange between believers and nonbelievers that could possibly result in even the smallest change of mind on either side, let alone finding some common ground.

That being said, people are diverse, there's going to be a few people from every group that act unsavory, and many with more refined behavior. The same applies to Christians, there's the nice, civilized, Jesus-focused Christians who I believe make up the majority of this very website, and there's also the Christians who are bigoted/hateful/violent. Negative sides to every group exist, I would just ask that we try not to judge "atheism" or "Christianity" from their worst examples. Or we'd be saying Christians all murder gay people, and atheists are all condescending, smug, offensive jerks. It's not good or fair for either side.

Now that I've said that, I'd like to participate in the discussion just a bit myself. :)

As one of my atheist friends used to say: "If believing in God makes a person that is normally an ***hole a kind and charitable person; why not leave them be even if we think they're wrong?"
I suppose believing in god could give someone a reason to act better, although I personally believe that if someone is kind and charitable, they'd be that way regardless of their religious belief, I think they have a good heart. But I would also say that a belief in religion can cause decent people to do terrible things. There's definitely two sides to this coin. If you look at all the women murdered by Sharia law in Islamic nations, or the "witches" in Africa that are still being burned because the Bible says not to allow them to live, or the events of September 11, 2001... You can see where believing could be negative. Of course I realize this is a minority I'm speaking about, and the majority of you certainly wouldn't support these things, I also believe atheists who would treat Christians disrespectfully are a minority in the same sense.

Atheism is the most "preachy" religion in the world, of course they will try to get their message trough. accusing christians of brainwashing, not realizing what they do can be seen as the same...
Just really a quick correction. Atheism means someone does not believe in a god, that's all it means, it isn't a religion. I also disagree that atheism is preachy compared to the religions, I just can't see the logic in saying that is all.

haha.. plz if u're going to be offended at anyone, not Forlorn plz. I think he's pretty sarcastic the way he keeps talking about d fact dat there is no God, he's only 15 i guess, and still has a lot of time in his life to see dat God is real and loves him and is ready to accept him if he can submit himself.. I had the same feeling about him and wolfywolf, but i've come to terms with him. He's a misled teenager dat obviously needs help :p.

I can't see why any athiest would come to a Christian chat site if they were not obviously seeking the Lord or looking for answers. I definately can't see any athiest trying to debate with or convert Christians with their beliefs or unbeliefs on a site full of devoted Christians. We just got to show them the love of the LORD and let God do all the work in speaking to their heart :D

So i didn't mean to insult u OK Forlorn, u are my brother, really u are!. And i don't want to offend u
