I just wanted to bring to your attention a couble of churches here in Fresno that are praying to the Holy Spirit.

They dance, they sing, they wave flags, and they say, come Holy Spirit, have your way with us. Some people even start twiching and shaking wildly! They fall around acting like they are drunk in the Spirit! The people in this church go around giving words from the Lord, just at the drop of a hat. They have this thing called soaking, that is like New Age relaxation meditation.

They are about signs and wonders!

The name of Jesus very rarely ever gets used.

It's all about the Holy Spirit!

To me this church seems like in the book of 1 Kings

Jezebel and the prophets Baal.

What do you think about praying to the Holy Spirit?

Well I do not know if praying to the Holy Spirit is what I would call it, but it sound like a great place to visit to me. Although we must have discernment, we cannot dismiss such things because we do not understand them, we might by dismissing the work of God.

The Holy Spirit lives in You,

It never leaves you, you don't have to conjure up, or bring down, the Holy Spirit!

The word says that when we pray to the Father, useing the name of Jesus, not the Holy Spirit!

We are not to worship the Holy Spirit.

We are to worship God, pray to the Father useing the name of Jesus!

I agree with most of what you said, but the thought that the holy spirit is somehow separate from God. Where do you get that idea?

He is our teacher and our comforter, Jesus's representive, he never leave us.

The word says to pray to the Father.

In the name of Jesus!

Not in any other name!

Sounds kind of religious to me. Pray exactly like this and no other way, or else.

I am not saying the Holy Spirit is separate from God.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one, the word does say this!

Did Jesus talk to the Holy Spirit?

Or to the Father?

Did Paul or Peter ever ask the Holy Spirit to come or did it just come when faith was in operation?

Did Jesus tell us to ask the Holy Spirit, or ask the Father?

Where in the word does it say to asked the Holy Spirit anything?

if it is a Church that preachers the Holy Trinity, when they talk to the Holy Spirit they are talking to God, however there is a rank and file even within the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit teaches us how to pray even and times will take over and pray for us, that pray is then receive By Jesus our mediator between God and man, and Jesus the Son presents it to the Father. but from way you explained it they are just asking the Holy Spirit to help them worship, if a Church doesn't have the Holy Spirit Guideing it's worship I wouldn't want to be at that service..

I have fallen victim to that warm, fuzzy feeling on the inside when it comes to over exaggerating the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Speaking in tongues, prophesying over people, and ever healing.

I will never deny His constant presence in my life, nor His power. I will never deny those gifts either, but when that awesome feeling becomes more to me than His touch, that is where I have had great difficulty.

Why do we seek this feeling more than just His face. I still struggle with this, so if anyone can highlight it would be appreciated.

You said you will never deny His constant presence, neither will I.

He is a constant presence, that why I find something wrong with

the constant asking the Holy Spirit to come, He's always there!

I speak in tongues and have seen many signs and wonders, but there was something not right.

In God's presence there is peace, there is freedom, there is no fear, no worry only love, pure love!

Well we are to pray to the Father in Jesus name. The thing christians have to understand is that the Holy Spirit is a manifester. He does what He is ordered to do. The Bible say I will not leave you alone but I will send a comfoter which is the Holy Spirit. God is the Father, Jesus is on the right side of the Father interccessing for us, and the Holy Spirit is left here with us. As for praying that the Holy Spirit comes into a church service is something needed. Becausae there can not be a sound word from God without the Holy Spirit. We should want to see the signs and wonders of God. The bibles says Greater things we shall do conserning the miricles Jesus performed. Because what we do is done totally by faith. Jesus didn't have to move by the faith we do because He came here from the Father.

The fruit of the Spirit does not line up.

It's more about making money, and putting on a good show!

They like to tickle the ears and get you all pumped up!

I knew this Guy who was a prophet who came into town, at first the Pastors did not like Him, but when they started getting money when He came they changed thier minds.

Now they have Him there once a month!

I also know of things that were said to be from God but were only to bring people to the service.

They said God said, when He did not!

I began to study about Jezebel and Abel in the book 1 kings,
Jezbel was all about the worship, and killing the prophets.

It seems just like the prophets of Baal and has a lot of similarities to how they worship.

Further more why are you posting about these people, are you suggesting all Charismatics are falsely prophesying to try and get people's money?

No!
I believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit,

What the problem is the lies behind the back ground and what was preached by these people after I found out the truth about this church.

I am not saying that Chaismatic churches are wrong but we must test the fruit of the Spirit.

It's really sad that all of those people are being lied to, maybe not about the Holy Spirit, but the other things made me question how they use the Holy Spirit almost like it' witchcraft!

I'm sorry maybe I should not of Posted this!

These people told me not to use the word sin, they said to find another word!

I am questioning a lot of things right now this is only one.

I just know the Holy Spirit is with me, I have never felt like I had to bring Him down, or up, or to me!

How do you know God did not say it?

They said God told this man to come to the church,
He is known as a Prophet,
and they played it up, in several services like it was all God, some speical devine thing but come to find out, it was only to get some money! The prophet came for a loan, it had nothing to do with a message from God.

This came out of the Pastors mouth and His wifes mouth in front of Elders and boardmembers!

None of them thought anything of it!

God never told Him to come and speak a word,
It was all a front for money!

Many things, to many to list!

I am just trying to sort it all out!

Jesus is to gets all to Glory But He in turns gives it to the Father,

Joh 17:1These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; GLORIFY THY SON, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
Give God the Glory
