A certain public figure's followers trying to edit wikipedia to fit what this figure said instead of finding out the actual truth and whether this figure was right or wrong in his/her assessment of history is really pathetic. I think we should all be truth seekers and making up your mind before investigating the matter and trying to twist the facts to make it fit makes me fear for this country.

So I have to be in to Politicians and breathing down their necks in anticipation of what they say. Oh please. The fact is I make my own decisions about what is right or wrong, not based on some party. I am neither a Republican or Democrat. Instead I am an independent. And the reason my eyes glaze over, is because they are so long winded. So before you use my quotes to make a point, maybe you should ask me why I said what I say.

I vote, write letters, read internet articles, don't watch a lot of TV. Most of my friends don't know I follow politics because I don't talk about it. I've worked on 2 political campaigns and vote on one main issue. I've told Christian friends and they are usually surprised. The issue is, protection of the unborn and children. I vote for that and not against people and not for my own economic interests. I don't even pay attention to personalities. I look at track records. Would I ever run for a political office? ... the answer is, yes I would if God made it clear to me that I am suppose to.

Lol, I totally agree, but then that whole party is nothing but complete whack-jobs and have been since they formed themselves in the past few years. I mean there founder dresses up like a revolutionary soldier to give speeches. If thats not the sign of morons i dont know what is.

I voted in the last election, yet I'm beginning to wonder why I should even bother since I live in a state that will always vote for a certain party. Also, I'm young and politicians don't listen to us youngsters.

I'm a political atheist. Show me a politician's voting record in the house or senate, or what he has approved, written or vetoed. I couldn't care less about political parties, affiliations and even less about what comes out of their mouths. Actions always speak louder than words.

I'm ticked off enough about what's going on in the world without obsessing over it. (And believe me, I take obsession to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL when I'm really passionate about something). :p

I'm kind of tired of arguing with my very-right-wing family and very-left-wing coworkers, so I kind of just leave it alone now.

Don't fall into what is called by philosophers the fallacy of the mean or middle. Just because something is a go-between two different positions it does not necessary mean that is the correct position, e.g. some want to abolish slavery completely and some want to keep it in tact therefore we should choose a middle ground that would involve releasing some slaves and/or giving the slaves more freedom. Our media is HORRIBLE about this. If something is true, then it is true regardless of whether a Democrat or a Republican is saying it, and they need to be called out.

What ive found over here sooner is that both the right wing and the left wing have got it totaly wrong, ones totally big goverment small society , the others big society small govt .. One gives too much freedom letting too many people live off the state who shouldnt be and the other penalising those who need to live off the state and are vunerable, huge mess . i think theres deffinitly a place to argue middle ground when its right to do so..

However i agree if somethings wrong whether left, right or middle it does need to said..

I agree that there is a definite problem with both parties playing to their bases at the expense of making good decisions for the country as a whole. Welfare is a great example of where a middle ground is GOOD. People shouldn't be made dependent, but it should also be available for those who need it. But sometimes people tend to just say MIDDLE no matter what the issue trying to be non-partisan, and I have been seeing that a lot lately. I have no problem with "partisan" positions as long as they are backed by empirical evidence and logic.

Our Kingdom is not of this world. We are Called to be Seperate, and preach the gospel. Thats really it. And Work, so you can eat.

NOT try to make anything any which way. JUST to make MORE people who are seperate and Holy. And teach them how to teach others to make more people who are sperate and Holy. We are to build a NATION That is gettign ready to LEAVE this place not stake claim adn take up the practices of it.


That is what Jesus commanded us to do. SO why doesnt anyone listen to him?

Are you familiar with your political representatives on every level? Do you pray for them? Do you vote? Would you ever consider running for office on some level? If so, what office?

I am not a political at all. I have my certain views, and opinions on different matters.

Whenever there is a presidential election and they put ad's on t.v. that bash the other party, when we would be watching t.v. together when those came on my dad would always mute the t.v. or change the channel. He has always said he never wanted to be influenced in his decision based on slander.

I would never run for office, however if there was some issue i was really concerned about, then i would probably get involved somehow.

Your dad sounds pretty cool, Nod. I will watch the talking heads as long as they are expressing their views in a manner I view to be professional, but once they start arguing and bashing, I shut it down. I want info, not drama...and it's important to remember to CONFIRM what you read/hear as well. I'm sure everyone in these threads receives political emails from one side or the other that take unverified info out of context and spread it like wildfire.

And, Nod, I was just sitting here smiling thinking about how cool it would be if you WERE in politics and fired off some of the comments you make. hahaha It would be hysterical. You could be the Bobby Knight of DC! :)

P.S. - To the gentleman who thinks christians should not be in politics - I'm very grateful for the men and women who prayerfully helped establish the government in my country in a manner that permits me to freely worship my God as I choose.

I agree with you but you can do this while voicing your political opinion. There is no way that you cannot be envolved with anything that the world does. Unless you run off to the middle of nowhere and start your own society, which is called cult here in the states.

You can express your political opinins rather it be social, economic, or legal. Those opinions should reflect God's word.

For instance I will play off of what someone else has said about middle ground and the welfare system. God expects you to work hard so you can eat, but at the same time he also tells you to love and in particularly take care of the children, elderly and widowed.

So you can take the stance that since God told me to work hard, everyone else needs to as well. You can say God told me to be charitable and help those in need. Or you can find some middle ground and say I work hard, I wish others will too but I will also help those in need.

But if your putting people into office that line the pockets of people who slaughtter helpless, and innocent people ...then YOU are voting for rape and murder. And you CANT NOT vote for someoen in this world who is NOT supporting or being financed by someoen who doesnt have a hand in rape and slaughter...The lesser of two evils is still evil! There is not ONE person in this world who is worth dissobeying the WORDS of Jesus for.

You can justify your acts to make yourself feel better, and make yourself feel like an active member of society, but when it al comes down to it JESUS said COME OUT of the WORLD...I know years of christendom has ignored JESUS, but are we suposed to folow YEARS of a religion, or Folow Jesus?

There is no possible way to be involved in politics AND Be Honest to yourself and Jesus.

Jsut cant happen do some backround checks on the peopel WE put into office....Sure, up front they are "agaisnt abortion" or what have you...but then they are getting funding by drug lords in places, or big corperations here...or secret religions there...its ALL evil...why? becasue its the WORLD. Jesus told us to BE seperate!!

We have 2.7 BILLION Christians in this world...do you really want to know what would happen if ALL of these "Christians" actualyl denyed themselves, followed JESUS the Way he said to, and wasCOMPLETELY seperate from the world? but humans waould rather worship there own idea of Jesus instead of humbling themselves and gettign on there knees adn JSUT SEEKING CHRIST and stop trying to fit in to the world and Society...we were ALWAYS suposed to be a peculiar people...sojurnours, ALIENS to this World....So what Happened?

And you can NOT have political opinions that Reflect Gods WOrd, becasue Gos Word says BE SEPERATE. and you CAN NOT be seperate and be with the wordl. That is sittign on the fence. Luke warm. We have BILLIONS of Luke warm(or dead cold) Christians in this world...becasue they are quieting the spirit of Go, or jsut totaly ignoring it...or are not even saved, and are Christians by NAME only...and still do what the WORDL DOES. It needs to stop. We need to STOP havign a hand in this world. We ned to Seek JESUS not politics, We need to Worship in Spirit and TRUTH on our Knees in the holy of holies, before the throne of GOD DAILY as much as psoible other wise whats commign you will not be able to with stand. ALL of this is designed to take YOUR mind of Of Jesus in your everyday life....and put it on your LIFE(Jesus said if you dont hate your life you are none of mine) Im not saying go be a hermit somewhere...im saying forget abour polotics..forget about "Causes" and Seek JESUS becasue the CAUSE of CHRSIT is the ONLY thign that should matter to us...THIS IS NOT OUR HOME....its a bout time we wake up adn do what JEsus called us to...Repent of our selves, and ALL sin, preach te gospel, Deny self, and REST IN HIM. and let HIM do what HE needs to do with adn through us.


And the BIGGEST thing we need to do is help the BODY of christ..whcih is ostly spirtualy dying...no one Goes TO JEsus for sustanence..they go to MAN. No one Goes To GOD, they go to Chrch they go to organiztions, adn diners, adn fund raisers...all thigns to glorify the flesh, that your living in...even though the bible says die to it. CRUCIFY IT WITH CHRIST . And THEN As GOD birngs people into your life You HELP THEM with the love of JESUS. If YOU are going out hunting out peopel to help..then its YOUR works, not his...if YOU are supportign peopel who CLAIM to be charitable...its STILL not him(unless of cpourse he calls you too...but you need ot be sure) anyway my whole point is it is a time for REPENTANCE(180 degree turn) from SIN and from our life...ignoring GOD yet trying to "bring him back in the country" It needs to stop. Its been hundreds of years of the majority of this country outrightly denying adn ignoring GOD...in the NAME OF GOD...its in vain...vain worship....


Thank you For reading. Jesus loves you, but he will not be knowcking forever...SERVE HIM and not the way MAN says that we shoudl serve Jesus but the way JESUS says. Take his words literally. THOSE are what we are judged on in the last day. Jesus bless you.
