This argument--that is my point EXACTLY. People that believe eternal torment is the punishment instead of death are actually DENYING Christ's death on the cross was the penalty--HE PAID THE PENALTY IN FULL. It shows how wrong it is to believe eternal torment is the punishment for sin --that it is what it means in the verse that says they "deny the Christ that bought them"
KJV

And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

Isaiah 66:24
“And they shall go forth and look
Upon the corpses of the men
Who have transgressed against Me.
For their worm does not die,
And their fire is not quenched.
They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”

And as they go out, they will see
the dead bodies of those who have rebelled against me.
For the worms that devour them will never die,
and the fire that burns them will never go out.
All who pass by
will view them with utter horror.”

The FIRE is unquenchable— then of course the thing burned is obliterated
And again the argument makes no sense--are you saying you do not believe death is FINAL. The lake of fire IS the second death.

Look up the words PERISH, DESTROY, DEATH--the all mean to cease to existance. The opposite of LIFE IS DEATH.

Nope,I disagree with you and your interpretation. Its not bibical but someone else's absurdity!
Gardenias

Are you calling God's Word absurd? I have simply quoted scripture. I often see people holding on to their false doctrine tenaciously--without testing Scripture against Scripture. And instead of using Scripture to support their beliefs they simply use their own words to refute what has been shared. By the way--the majority believing something does not make it right. Millions of people were alive when God sent the flood to destroy them and only 8 were saved. The same goes for Sodom and Gomorrah. Out of thousands--perhaps even hundreds of thousands, only 3 were saved.

Make an attempt to think critically and as the Bereans , study the scriptures for yourself to see if what I and others are saying is true.

Blessings

These are Victors-- Who see what? DEAD BODIES / CORPSES. What does not die? The WORM What does not go OUT? The FIRE. This means complete obliteration.

Please show me the absurdity in what I have shared? I used SCRIPTURE to prove my point. Where is Scriptures to prove yours?

My point exactly. If one believes eternal torment is the wages of sin instead of death, that would mean one has to believe Jesus did not pay the penalty by dying
No, the word of God says those who reject Christ, death of the body is because of sin. The question is, are you saved? that was rhetorical. The saved person in Christ will still die a physical death. Yet, we have faith in the resurrection from the dead FYI the hope of the Church :) death comes to all because of sin which the word of God says we die once than the judgment. If annihilation is correct Why is Jesus judging the unsaved dead?

Beleck It's masterbation sex ie Jezebel Have you ever Sacraficed?
Are you willing to be them for a moment ???????? So you can judge them! you have to be them in order to judge them. Or you have to have the mind of Christ.Systems overthrowing other system the way of the devil. The lights of a night club the deafening music the drums of talmud...that's to num are consciousness..such as with strip clubs even movies
Ok if you say so. I have not found that I not a word of God but I do see where they ( children) were sacrificed to this false god. Also, I think your comment is inappropriate and I prefer that you and I not converse anymore. No, I do not sacrifice in the context of what you I assume think it is.

Thank you.

???

But you said...

Which was right the first time.

Gen 4:10
And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

...it's what the bible says.

But quite literally...

^...it's what the bible says. No assumption is needed. Do we accept what the bible says?

Friend, we're talking about "in the 1st Adam" and the original problem the Messiah saved us from.

True or false: "He who does NOT believe in the Son of God yet were he dead, he shall live."
excuse me I am not trying to play semantics from the body meaning the blood that was spilled on the ground that came from the body of Able :). AS GOd said it did.

You don't seem to get my point at all. The bible says Jesus paid the penalty we deserved with HIS DEATH. Romans says the "Wages of sin is death." Matthew says "....that whosoever believes in Him should not PERISH."

So if you truly believe that Eternal Torment is the punishment and NOT death, then you are denying Christ paid our penalty by His death.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Someone needs to learn their science. If house is on fire and the fire is not put out, then the house will be burned to ASHES. If worms that eat a corpse never die then the corpse will eventually turn to DUST.

Look. My answer was to your statement below where you claimed there was no reference to eternal burning
in scripture. I gave you one scripture reference. There are more.

Dear Lucy,

I'm sorry, but a place of eternal is a myth--you said the alternative is"eternal burning' but you won't find that term used in Scripture anywhere.]

What does the Bible mean by "unquenchable fire" then? Math 3:12

NO, I am not, you are making an assertion because you are not seeing what we have said.

No one has suggested nor said we deny that the payment of Christ on the cross was without effect. You have made a false accusation.

You said 'eternal burning' which is not in scripture. That would refer to an OBJECT which continues to burn eternally, in contrast to eternal FIRE, which common sense and science say that if a fire burns without being put out the thing burned is obliterated.

Matthew 25:41 speaks of “everlasting fire” for the wicked. Does it go out?
Yes. According to the Bible, it does. We must let the Bible explain itself. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed with everlasting, or eternal, fire (Jude 7), and that fire turned these ancient cities “into ashes” as a warning to “those who afterward would live ungodly” (2 Peter 2:6). These cities are not burning today. The fire went out after everything was burned up. Likewise, everlasting fire will go out after it has turned the wicked to ashes (Malachi 4:3). The effect of the fire is everlasting, but not the burning itself.

Doesn’t Matthew 25:46 say the wicked will receive “everlasting punishment”?
Notice the word is punishment, not punishing. Punishing would be continuous, while punishment is one act. The punishment of the wicked is death, and this death is everlasting.
