Revelation 22:2

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Matthew 24:33-35

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

//What does “pass away” mean if The Gospel continues past it?

Luke 16:16-17

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

Hi Joe,

I"m trying to understand what you're saying here--did you read my other post? It's only say the law and the prophets were up until John--and it's saying facetiously (can't think of the word) that it would be easier for heaven and earth to pass than the law to fail--not that the will pass.

So in one generation all these things will occur ushered in by the 'falling away' (which I believe is happening now--however that is not counted in these--the countdown I believe happens when the anti-christ is revealed.):

2. The anti-christ is revealed
3. Tribulation
4. Christ's Second Coming
5. Judgment
6. Heaven and Earth Destroyed along with the wicked and the unbeliever
7. New Heaven and New Earth where we He will dwell with mankind in the new 'paradise'

This was taken away from the pharisees:

Psalms 1:2-4
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Does this sound like a falling away? Wait, the world ended for them?

1 Corinthians 10:8
Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

1 Corinthians 10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Hi HFNR,

I'm not sure why you posted this here, as I was responding to EWQ's post Also don't see how it relates to the forum topic.
It is posted to see who are God's elect and who are the nonelect.

Matthew 7:17-20
King James Version

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Son of perdition is Satan revealing himself as 2nd Coming of fake Jesus. Than all nonelects worship Satan as God. This did not happen yet.

We are right now at.

Matthew 24:6
King James Version

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Heaven and Earth passed if JESUS Fulfilled The Law!

Matthew 5:17-20
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

I’ll admit prophecy is confusing as what appears to be one prophecy, may be several that mirror each other. For example it is said of Daniel that he prophecies about Antiochus IV Epiphanes who set up an altar to Zeus in the Second Temple in Jerusalem and sacrificed swine on it in the 2nd Century BC" ....“Daniel's prophecy refers not only to the blasphemous Antiochus, but also to the Antichrist, “who will appear in the end times, forge an alliance with Israel, and subsequently break that alliance and force the world to worship him--the ultimate abomination.”

“Rome was the powerful kingdom of iron of Daniel 2 and the “exceeding dreadful” fourth kingdom of Daniel 7:19. The latter prophecy describes Rome as a beast with teeth of iron and nails of brass, “which devoured, and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet.” What a perfect description of Rome’s attempt to destroy Israel as a people and to erase her very memory from her own land and capital city! Rome did her best to destroy both Israel and Christianity but was singularly unsuccessful in both cases.”

https://www.wayoflife.org/reports/hadrian_the_enemy_of_god.php

The thing is when the end comes the generation living will not pass away until all these things have happened. Hadrian erected the temple of Jupiter in 130 AD--so it’s been nearly 2000 years since then. I believe he is just one of many anti-christs.

Who do you think is the son of perdition?

Just like how these verses happen to me.

Matthew 10:34-40
King James Version

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

The bottom is one of the reasons I chose God over my physical family, every family gathering mostly during holidays there is trials and tribulation.

By read the 10 commandments, I found proof that TV, movies, watching sports (violence like football, covet their lives and they are idols), novels, music, video games and computer games are all sins, except Christian stuff.

https://christianchat.com/bible-dis...games-and-computer-games-are-all-sins.199859/

Trails bring us closer to God=by being weak, I depend on God by praying to overcome all trials.

And here in Barnes commentary He also states Christi's work was finished at the cross:

Barnes' Notes on the Bible
Have glorified thee - In my instructions and life. See his discourses everywhere, the whole tendency of which is to put honor on God.
I have finished the work - Compare John 19:30. When he says "I have finished," he probably means to include also his death. All the preparations for that death were made. He had preached to the Jews; he had given them full proof that he was the Messiah; he had collected his disciples; he had taught them the nature of his religion; he had given them his parting counsel, and there was nothing remaining to be done but to return to God. We see here that Jesus was careful that his great and important work should be done before his dying hour. He did not postpone it to be performed just as he was leaving the world. So completely had he done his work, that even before his death he could I say, "I have finished the work." How happy would it be if men would imitate his example, and not leave their great work of life to be done on a dying bed? Christians should have their work accomplished, and when that hour approaches, have nothing to do but to die, and return to their Father in heaven.
yeah but Jesus Christ said his work was finished before the cross is the thing. I’m not looking to argue I was just trying to offer some thoughts from Jesus about what he was sent to do and what was his glorification

I prefer to stick to what Jesus says is the case so I would remain where he himself is actually saying “ I have finished the work you have given me to do I have given them your word and manifest your name to them now father glorify me as I have glorified you “

So again this is just where my faith resides in what Jesus has to say and before he went to the cross but after he had preached the gospel of the kingdom he says this in prayer

“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17:4-6, 8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the “finished works of the cross “ doctrine is actually something created to erase his word and authority. We want to forget what he said about being saved and just say he died and rose that’s the end .

according to Jesus Christ the lord his work that God sent him into the world to do we’re finished before the cross

it’s no different than Moses he first led the people and later he shed the blood of the covenant that’s what Jesus did he first spoke the covenant did all his miracles and proofs bore with the people and the. After the covenant was given he shed his blood of the covenant

Jesus death and resurrection are no more important than what he preached and spoke forth That word is forever

I'm not arguing either, I was just clarifying that Jesus was including in those verses His upcoming death on the cross. As is evident by reading all of the surrounding verses and the fact that Jesus said, "It is finished."

"Jesus death and resurrection are no more important than what he preached and spoke forth That word is forever." <Strongly disagree with what you said here--without His death there is NO SALVATION.

um yeah and if we reject his word there isn’t either I’m not saying his death isn’t important I’m saying if you reject his death and resurrection OR HIS WORD this happens

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

so again to clarify they are equally important is my point neither offers salvation without the other to say he lives and died for our sins is true but if we then say his words aren’t for me , the cross is going to condemn that person

eternal Life is promised in Jesus words , forgiveness and reconciliation the truth that God is our father is in his words we can’t be saved by rejecting the words of the eternal judge his death and resurrection assures that part

“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus death and resurrection means he now owns the world every soul belongs to the one who preached this three years

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the cross doesn’t change that it solidifies it forever

“And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:15-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when Jesus went to the cross it meant his words were now the authority forever is my only point there and sure I can see that Jesus going to the cross was maybe possibly included there the only reason I said anything is because the cross and what happened upon it doesn’t negate his words authority it makes it sure and forever so we can know what Gods will actually is

so again what I’m saying is they are both equally important to salvation can’t have one without the other it’s all

You are contradicting yourself--here you say:

" so again what I’m saying is they are both equally important to salvation can’t have one without the other it’s all"
but before you said, "Jesus death and resurrection are no more important than what he preached and spoke forth That word is forever."

"no more important" and "equally important" are not the same things.

I'm really not sure what you're saying here or in your other post--for example, you mention a 'finished works doctrine'-- which I've never even heard of and has zero to do with me taking Christ's Words DIRECTLY from scripture.

i say this all the time--chapters and verses weren't added until the 16th century--we need to carefully see where one thought follows another thought and not isolate verses from their original context---i'll be straight and say you are wrong in saying Christ's work was not finished at the cross, when it is clear in the surrounding verses He is not speaking only of His ministry, but also of His upcoming death and He clarified that with His last words --"It is finished."

ps pointing out error is not arguing.
