This is not the Second Coming! It is the Rapture, the gathering in the air that takes the believers out of the way before the antichrist is revealed. The entire argument is over the coming in the air and the Second Coming when He touches down on earth to destroy the anti-christ.
Again, there is only one Second Coming of Christ and that is when HE resurrects the dead and after that gathers His Elect.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 is 2 Thessalonians 2:1

That seems to be what makes you feel good, you should believe that and not get upset.

None of this has anything to do with our salvation either way, so don't sweat it, David.

It does indeed my friend as the word says "no lie comes from the Truth" - 1 John 2:21

Jesus said this concerning His Coming : “See to it that no one deceives you." Matt 24:4

He also warned that because of believing a lie (pre-trib) many will be offended and fall away - Matt 24:9-11

Then they will deliver you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.
At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another, and many false prophets will arise and mislead many.

Christianity will fall apart because of the many false doctrines it embraced prior to His Coming.

We see this in the words of the Lord to the seven churches in Revelation, whereby the Lord says to them:
"To him who overcomes.........."

I don't know about you, David, but I'm saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, period!

The order of resurrections as to whether I get them right or not, or anything else has nothing to do with my faith in Christ and being justified by that fact. I'm afraid you may have entered into the Laws of getting everything right to be saved. Dangerous place to be, my friend!

The Holy Spirit does not operate as some presidents, leaving their own behind.

When He is taken out He takes His own with Him! That would be the true believing Church at that time.
So calling the Holy Spirit a "He" is the politically correct thing to do now? Whatever.
The Church is necessarily a 'she' because She is the Bride.

I agree with that! My point was that when He is taken, "she" is taken with Him by way of ownership by faith.

That is if you want to use the "he/she" thing.

OK, show us who "he" is in 2Thes. 2:7. This "he" is taken out of the way, and then the anti-christ is revealed.

Who is "he?"
Several prominent theologians from the 19th century say it is the Roman Empire --I think it means both the Roman Empire in existence at that time and the 'revived roman empire'--perhaps in someway influenced or in some sort of 'agreement' or 'backing' of the Roman Catholic Church. (my opinion only--i just became curious after reading this discussion here)

Gill's exposition

Only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way: the idolatries and persecutions of the heathen emperors must be taken out of the way, to make way for those that arise under a Christian, or rather antichristian, state, the dragon giving his seat, spirit, and power to the beast. And the power that was in the Roman emperor, whether heathen or Christian, must be taken out of the way to make room for the exaltation of this man of sin. For notwithstanding all corruptions; in doctrine, worship, or practice which might be introduced before, yet he is not fully revealed till he hath his jurisdiction and secular power also in his hand. And then this mystery of iniquity is arrived to its height; which St. John saw written in the forehead of the great whore, Revelation 17:5: Mystery, Babylon the great, & c., and which, some have said, was written anciently in the pope’s mitre. (a mitre for those who don't know is a head covering)
(i think inscription is Vicar of the Son of God)

That is definitely true, what Gill says, but I feel he could have gone much deeper and he probably did when all is read.

Actually for the sake of readability I picked the one that was most easy to read--click on the link and you can see others. I I believe I'm pretty good at reading comprehension, but the way they wrote at that time...ahh...it's a bit much.

Ps I gave you a new house--did you see it?

Also, that's a summary--these guy write commentaries on the whole scripture--can you imagine? They must've had really sore bums--not to mention eyes.....
