The Lord spoke to me once and said, "There is no man as blind as the blind man who believes he sees." I started trying to figure out who He was talking about. Sigh. It took awhile but I eventually realized He was talking to me.

I think it is best to keep silence and not speak against God's gift of speaking in tongues. Yes, ask questions about it but, speak against it...NEVER.
i've only quoted scripture and revealed the truth from scripture.

When Jesus was tempted, He said "IT IS WRITTEN" .... Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.

2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Co 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

1Co 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

These Amplified Verses are actually very good at explaining the Verses Meaning:

1 Cor 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays [My spirit, by the Holy Spirit within me, prays].

Romans 8:26 We know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered

Pride is invisible, it feels good, it seems right...and it blinds!
Just a few things that I've learned from the Lord's dealing with me over the past 32 years.

People claim they've had the baptism of the Holy Spirit because they spoke in tongues; yet they did sinful things..... Now let's get something straight. There are some basic requirements for receiving any gift of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus says, "If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth" (John 14:15, 16, 17).

"And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him" (Acts 5:32).

A few years ago several famous TV evangelists fell by the way. They all claimed to be filled with the Holy Spirit and have the gift of tongues. But they were living in gross immoral disobedience. They would speak in tongues on TV, then leave the studio to live a compromising life. Something just wasn't right. These men also caused me to wonder, "If this is the genuine gift of tongues, then why do these charismatic evangelists need an army of interpreters to translate for them when they preach overseas?"
There is a “growing up maturing” process in which our minds are renewed with the Word of God so we can correctly know and do the perfect Will of God but, it is a process and we need to be taught the Word of God by the Holy Spirit of God.

It’s a waste of time to go around judging and condemning believers. Love and mercy with wisdom is a better choice!(y)

It’s time for @RAWisconsin to be free in Christ from the law of works and condemnation….when a person struggles with thoughts of being “worthy”, they are being spiritually attacked by a demonic spirit of religion that is condemning them with self critical judgments which keeps them in bondage of never feeling worthy.

It is important to remind them that they are forgiven and loved and accepted in Christ.

Jesus Christ came to set RAWisconsin FREE from ANY AND ALL condemnation and he is to walk in newness of Life and freely receive ALL his Heavenly Father wants to give him, amen!(y)
There is a time for everything - including many things that we would not wish to pass through.

You are simply pressing into a false spirit. You are trying to speak realities into a man's life - may the Lord tear down your words.

Answer a question in a living truth - don't make declarative proclamations of the time of things being at hand as a mechanism to refuse what is said to you in the name of Christ.

You can refuse what one man speaks to another man - you can turn away from the things said of your meanings when men foolishly seek to hold you up - but you cannot remove yourself from the reality of seeking to speak blessings into others lives - unless the Lord has sent you to speak.

It is a simple thing to test the spirits - by testing their words. It is the Lord who is going to tear down that false prophetic spirit that parades like a man - speaks like a man and desires to direct the children of God as a shepherd of their souls - yet speaks falsely.

Judging is Gods Job,
I'm not judging anyone, but the doctrine needs to be tested and judged by the word.

Rom 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Not quoting these to condemn or judge anyone. but to show that there are many false doctrines and many that refuse to accept the truth.

1Jn 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

^ Notice that verse 8 clearly says that tongues SHALL CEASE. Notice that verse 10 clearly says that that which is done in part shall be DONE AWAY, and that verse 9 clearly says that one thing done in part is PROPHESY.

What are we to make of these things? Namely, what is THAT WHICH IS PERFECT in verse 10? This is talking about the completed Scriptures. When they were not available, certain gifts - including tongues - filled the gap and provided the divine revelation that God's people needed.

Do tongues exist today? I will say that THEY COULD. IF THEY DO, then they must be done in a Scriptural manner, which means that only one person should speak in tongues at a time and one person should interpret. If there is no interpreter, then even if someone present CAN speak in tongues, they should remain silent because it's just confusion without interpretation.

I DO BELIEVE that tongues could still exist on Earth, but likely only in places where the completed Scripture is not available to God's people.

I have seen (false) speaking in tongues in America (no interpreter, chaos, babbling), and it appears to be filthy and demonic to me.

Yes it is wide to be rational but also unwise to not be sensative to the spirit, I walk in both being rational and sensitive to the spirit which at times requires us to be unrational and go by the spirits leading as his way tend oppose that of mans, the key is to be able to balance it to know hen to be rational and simply go by faith and follow his leading.

For me this was one of those times I felt it was an anointing and the thing about following his leading is often times you go into it blind not knowing why you said or did something but regardless if I am right or wrong I know that she is even more intuned to his pirit than I could ever hope to be so I trust what she has said, logic is all well and good and I am not saying to throw it out the window but his logic often opposes our own we know not why we say or do certain things by his leading and there are always those who would disagree or in some form oppose it but he will be anointed this much I can prophesy and it will come to pass.

Correct, and according the bible speaking in tongues is not the proof/sign that someone is baptised With/in the Holy Spirit.
This is giving Acts 2, 8, 10 and 19 and different meaning!

I pray I'm someday worthy of tongues if it's God's will. I've never felt it. Perhaps I've not been open enough.
May the Father in heaven build you up in your own body as a father to your own children. May the Father in heaven cover you over and hide you in Christ until you are able to run.

Being "worthy" is absolutely nothing to do with the "gift of tongues"!

It is a "gift", and so cannot be earned!

"Charismata" (Greek), "gifts of GRACE"! 1Cor 12v4.

The ignorance in the Body of Christ of this wonderful, beautiful gift astounds me, (ignorant) people ridicule, despise and speak the most untrue things about it!

It cost the Trinity SO MUCH to give this gift (with the interpretation of tongues) to the Church...the death and resurrection of our dear Lord Jesus!

So, before you despisers of this beautiful and most useful gift speak evil of it again, why not do a full UNBIASED study of the Scriptures on it! Acts 17v10-12, 2Tim 2v16.

The early Church welcomed it with open arms, there was NO controversy, they diligently used it and found it was the source of their power and authority in preaching the Gospel and witnessing for their Risen Lord! 1Cor 14v18, Acts 10v44-47, Jude v20,21, Rom 8v26-28, 2Cor 12v11,12, Rom 15v18-21.

You can find a study Here on it...

I am very interested to know how are you able to discern the difference? @Blain @Gideon300 According to my understanding it is just an literal language spoken in the world. If you look at the context of the events of Pentecost. You will see that the disciples spoke in languages of the surrounding regions. The hearers could hear the disciples speak in their languages and what is happening in the world today? My view is just that its a deception. How does speaking in tongues help you spiritually?
You know what puts that notion to bed?
Lets say paul went to china and preached to a village never reached before.
So ( according to cessationist theory) he preached in chinese "supernaturally".

So the companion cessationist theory of " when tongues are spoken there MUST be an interpreter" applies how?

IOW that notion is totally ridiculous.

( if he is speaking chinese there need be NO interpretation.)

God has a protocol.
Salvation, then after that the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Tongues ACCOMPANIES the baptism in the Holy Spirit as we see vividly portrayed in acts.
I got saved in 1977 towards the end of the charismatic renewal. What a feast that was.
I got the baptism about 6 or so months after salvation.

I DID NOT GET IT when i asked God for it....initially.
I prayed a hundred times for it. I used to go into the attic and cry out for it. I wanted that Holy Spirit baptism. I was not concerned at all about tongues.
Well several weeks or months later i woke up on a sunday and God said clear as a bell " today you will get the baptism in the Holy Spirit"

The first prayer was by the assistant pastor and was a total dud. Nothing at all.

I just thought" maybe it is not for me"
Some awesome Holy Spirit Women overheard me saying that.

They said to me " what dud you just say"?
I told them the story.
Marge grabbed me by the hand and took me back in there.
When that woman touched me it was like lightning hit me. She said " say something..SPEAK!"
Wen i did tongues flowed out of me.

Whew!!!!
I WILL NEVER FORGET IT.

So get the baptism!!!!
Seek it out.
But a plane ticket to some Holy Ghost Church...fast....ask....seek ...pray.
GOD WILL DO IT FOR YOU.
