The teaching that the law no longer applies is a new...new age religion teaching....since the 1960's.
It is another new age religion attempt to change God's word.

Don't fall for it....the law is alive and well...don't violate it.

So, you cannot be forgiven if you violate the law?

Sure....upon repentance....but, why do you wish to violate it?
I do not wish to violate it...

However, there are many who do not wish to violate it who violate it nevertheless; because their experience is in fact what is spoken of in Romans 7:14-25...

"the spirit indeed is willing; but the flesh is weak." (Matthew 26:41)

I would say to you that such are in need of forgiveness and that forgiveness is provided for them in the Cross.

Correct.....Paul said...that which I do I choose not...and...that which I choose I do not....but, isn't that another point?

The point is that we need forgiveness and that forgiveness has been provided for.

So that our relationship to the law has changed.

We are forgiven of past, present, and future sins.

And therefore the law no longer condemns us as sinners...it no longer points out our sins because they are forgiven.

That is from the Father's perspective.

From the perspective of the Holy Ghost, whose job it is to convict of sin and righteousness and judgment; and who pinpoints our sins so that we can confess them and be sanctified (1 John 1:7-9), He sees our sin and deals with us according to the law; showing us that we are sinners so that we can confess to God.

But before the Father, our position stands true in Christ; that our sins are not counted against us or imputed to us (Romans 4:8); therefore as concerning the law, the law does not any longer from the Father's perspective point the finger at us and call us sinners.

Wrong, wrong and wrong.

We are only forgiven of a sin when we repent of that sin.
If your statement was true...why would we need unlimited forgiveness of sins? Why wouldn't O times do?
See why that makes no sense?
Christ died on the cross to establish ...grace....a umbrella of forgiveness when we repent and ask God's forgiveness...in Jesus's name...... Nothing about it is occurring without our repentance.

So, if there is some sin that you fail to confess or repent of, you are not forgiven of that sin?

Better be certain that you know what is every sin in the Bible and be certain that you confess all of them before you die!

Sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4).

Yet I am not condemned for violating the food laws in the Old Testament (1 Timothy 4:1-6); and therefore there are sins that I can commit and yet not be condemned by them, even if I never confess them. Eating shellfish or pork, according to 1 John 3:4, is a sin; however it is not a sin according to 1 Timothy 4:1-6.

Therefore, do I need to confess and repent of violating the food laws of the Old Testament in order to be forgiven?

The reality is that we are not under the law (Romans 6:14), are dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19), and are delivered from the law (Romans 7:6) as concerning condemnation.

The repentance that leads to salvation is the change of mind concerning Christ that says, "God be merciful to me a sinner" and that believes in Christ and what He did on the Cross for our salvation, dying in our place.

Well...obviously not. What is wrong with repentance? Why would a sane person take a chance...repent? Many reasons for continuous prayer and that is one of them. Why does the Bible say in God's daily prayer....forgive us of our trespasses as we forgive our trespassers....?

If you believe it is automatic....study scriptures...it will correct your thinking.

I have studied the scriptures for more than 30 years and believe what I believe about it.

It should be clear that those who are in Christ are not under the law (Romans 6:14), are dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19), and are delivered from the law (Romans 7:6) as concerning condemnation.

Other scriptures to contemplate:

Ephesians 2:15-16, Colossians 2:14, Galatians 3:24-25, Galatians 5:18, Hebrews 7:18-19.

Because we certainly are still under the law to Christ (1 Corinthians 9:21) as concerning obedience.

For the the law is written on the heart and in the mind of the New Covenant believer (Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16, Romans 8:7, Romans 8:4, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6, Romans 13:8-10; Romans 5:5; 1 John 2:3-6).

As concerning condemnation, we are not under the law (Romans 6:14, Galatians 3:24-25, Galatians 5:18).

Speak for yourself. As for me I will keep God;s commandments until the end.

Also, I will be obedient to the spirit of what is written rather than the letter (Romans 7:6).

17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

12Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 13We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at the end of what was fading away.
