People ask where the USA is in Scripture?

Could be in a couple of places.

“Young lions of Tarshish”

Ezekiel 38:13
New King James Version

13 (A)Sheba, (B)Dedan, the merchants (C)of Tarshish, and all (D)their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’ ” ’

But more distressing could be Ezekiel 39:6

Ezekiel 39:6
New King James Version

6 (A)“And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live [a]in security in (B)the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.

So all agree Magog is Russia, but those who live in security in the COASTLANDS?

This sounds disturbingly like a nuclear exchange.

I have heard the former colonies of the U.K. as the "young Lions" since the lion is the symbol on the U.K. flag, yet we know He preserves His own.

Evolution progresses in geological time. (ie, over millions of years)
Are not viral mutations a form of evolution? As we've seen over the last few years, those can happen quite quickly. Especially in an organism bred to acquire new traits.

Again you are leaning on your own understanding, which we are told to NOT DO.
If your mind is a not renewed to see the world through His lens, and you have never posted that it is, you are still missing the mark.
I can see why a new religion, as Christianity was, once, should assert that. But whose understanding should I rely on, if not my own? If I am bound for Hell, I would prefer it to be on my own account, and no-one else's. And yes, though I would hesitate to say I see the world through a God's eye view lens, certainly my perspective changed as I became a Christian.

Best wishes, 2RM.

Uh huh. We were discussing the behaviour of reptiles. Certainly viruses, which carry a much smaller DNA load, can mutate more rapidly a complex, multicellular organism.

The only problem is that there is no evidence that Russia has destroyed America. Americans (or more precisely evil Americans) have destroyed (and are destroying) America. Who opened the door wide to the Russian mafia to operate in America? Who opened the door wide to Communist Chinese operatives to steal American technology? Who has handed over the southern border to the Mexican cartels? America is now full of traitors and nothing is being done about it.
So, I do not for one moment think that America has been, is now, or will be destroyed. But I am inclined to diagnose a lack of love, each for each other, in preference to the $. But that is something you need to sort out for yourselves.

Best wishes, 2RM

Until we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, and make Him Lord of our lives we cannot have our minds renewed, Holy Spirit guides in all truth.
It's Biblical Christianity 101

Uh huh. But my own preference is for Christianity according to 2RM 101, We all have the right to go to Hell in our own way, and I insist on exercising that right. If I end up rotting there for all eternity, at least it will be with my integrity intact.

Best wishes, 2RM.

No. They are a form of devolution, and get weaker as they mutate. Mutation is devolution, not evolution.
Now that's a curious take. But you're full of curious takes lol.

Currently I'm somewhat shocked at how Wall Street is reacting to Russia.

They got pissed off and corporate America and Europe are doing their parts to impoverish Russia. This is going to be much more expensive for Russia than they want to pay. But it is costing Corporations a pretty penny to do so. Maersk is just one corporation (shipping) to cut them off from delivery or pickups. (Russia is going to get hungry soon....hope they can eat petroleum)
Vodka is getting dumped. Caviar is also not moving.
Like I said...watch the price of gold. Russia is dumping it...soon going to be buying to use for their purchases. If anyone will deliver.

I wonder if we will finally see a nuclear exchange. The news networks would do well.

It is inevitable that some organisms are weaker for their mutation. They will die out, unable to compete with organisms more fit for their environment. But occasionally you will get a mutated organism more fit, and these will go on to reproduce. This ratchet effect is all part of evolution.

It occurs to me to add, while a virus (such as the Omicron variant of Covid 19) may be less fatal to it's host (than, say the Delta variant) this is all part of genetic fitness. One of the most fatal things a virus can do is kill its host, which leads, of course, to its own demise. It is in the interest of the virus to have no effect, or at least express itself in a more benign way than than it's ancestry.

A virus is not a living organism.

It is a scrap of DNA that self replicates...a piece of an organism that still functions and proliferates once it finds a host cell. It isn't a bacteria...it might have once been a part of a bacterium...

Think of it as a piece of a machine like a terminator...it refuses to stop even though the rest of the machine is gone and destroyed. It's whole job is replication. It exists to replicate. And it only does that for so long that it has forgotten that it once was a part of a living organism...but it doesn't stop making replicators.

A virus does rewrite your DNA...that's it's whole job.
It's cancer, it's warts, it's shingles it's any one of a series of diseases that are endemic to society...these things cause heartache and heartbreak with birth defects and shortened lifespans.

This covid attacks your hormone system. Everything from thyroid to insulin and gender. Not because it has intentional desires but because of the chemistry of those organs.

Agreed. Once it has a host cell, however, it behaves very much as though it were a living organism.
