It seems you have never had to deal with the results war on family members.
My grandson was sent to Afghanistan twice.
The first time he was 18 years old.
The first time he went out on patrol, he was given a 12 gauge shotgun, had to lead 3 others int a building where he had to kill 4 men. He was 18 years old!
He said he knows he took the life of over 150 people and will have to live with that the rest of his life.
On his second time there at 20 years old, he was blown up and suffered brain damage that he will have to deal with for the rest of his life.
WHY!!!
What was accomplished?
A lot of arms manufactures got rich and shared that wealth with the politicians that sent this young man and many more to die and suffer.

I got into fights with 5 bullies growing up, once in Elementary school, once in Junior HS and three in HS. My attitude was always to be a honey badger going up against a bear. Sure, you may win the fight, but I will take out an eye and a nose. I also never had to fight a bully twice.

The two that really stand out.

I was walking from the JHS to the HS to go to football practice. This kid who I was not afraid of in the least attacked me because he was surrounded by about six football players who were his friends. He must not have known that I was also on the team or that the rule on the team is that if those guys had helped him I would be able to have one on one tackle drills with them in practice. They all backed away and I humiliated this kid in about twenty seconds.

The second one I was practicing tennis in this underpass when two kids my size, maybe a little bigger came up to me and told me they wanted my tennis racket. I realized I was all alone. I figured I would lose this fight but at the same time I wasn't going to go face my dad saying I had just handed over the racket. I figured I needed to get bloodied up enough to where I'd be able to go home. So, I figured I could get off one really good hit with the racket on one of them before they took me down. I gripped the racket, backed up to the wall and said "no". It was clear that I was telling them to bring it on. They blinked and left deciding it wasn't worth it knowing that one of them was about to get hit bad.
