Well said! Completely agree. Every couple is different with different skills and interests, they figure it out.

If you were referencing my post, I hope you caught I specifically referenced the OP's "woman groups who complain men don't help with housework". I was asking if those specific 'complaining women' were aware what the husband/partner was doing when, apparently, not doing what they termed as "housework". So I wasn't talking about you or all women. And wasn't saying any divisions of labor are some sort of a rule. But also we know how the vast majority of households divide things in general.

I'm assuming both of us are not married or living with a partner, and so I'm sure you aren't 'complaining' either. = ) If you live in a house that you care for, or helped out with all these type of things, like me, then Im sure you know and appreciate them better than most. And I do all the housework. lol

When I marry I'll be very happy to hear her say, 'hey, i know a lot about cars, how about i come out and we'll check this out together?' Or even, 'i want to learn more about cars.' Whatever the case. It's more fun to do things together.
Hey Sculpt, I don't know what specific housework the women in these groups were complaining about. It was a generalization. I've read women complaining they don't get help with chores around the house.

I agree with Pipp, everyone should be prepared with as many skills as possible. What would happen if your spouse fell ill or there was an accident and they became disabled? I saw my grandma do absolutely everything on her own because grandpa died young. She was tough and told us to always learn as much as we can and develop useful skills.

I do believe men and women compliment each other though.

Very true. It helps to learn all the skills you can.

In your OP, I saw you wrote, "There are women groups like the one above that pretty much say the same thing but of men. Again, they tell young women not to get married or have babies because men don't help with housework or they cannot meet their emotional needs." What emotional needs to you think they were talking about? I dont think everyone defines this the same way.

Question; Is being single easier for men or women? ;)
Probably easier for women. A lot of women have low sex drive or essentially no interest in sex as they get older. I believe this is God's design, so it follows waning fertility. Women still want to feel desired though, despite low sex drive. Most women are not like Madonna or Jane Fonda as they age. Even Jane Fonda has surprisingly said recently she has no interest in sex. Women also make friends more easily so they feel less loneliness.

Domestic violence is not something many people want to discuss but it happens.

Sometimes calling the police doesnt really help either.

I should have stated waning fertility AND menopause.

I've tried to soothe babies before. I know how to go down the check list. If they can't be soothed by me, I'll let them work it out themselves. People have the right to cry. (y)

A lot of the time the content/posts these groups make are to talk trash about the opposite sex.
When you access trash like Reddit and Youtube, expect the worst. They censor what is true and factual and promote lies. In any event, men do not GENERALLY hate women and vice versa. So the question is purely hypothetical. Getting down to specifics, one needs discernment to know whom to associate with and whom to ignore. Aesop's Fables -- believe it or not -- should be very helpful (while also being entertaining).

Something else to keep in mind is that American/Canadian society as a whole has been putting down men, maleness, and masculinity, and promoting females. Therefore a few days ago everyone was all excited about International WOMEN'S Day. But I have never heard of an International MEN's Day. Does that tell you something.

But here's something else to consider -- Rudyard Kipling's "Female of the Species".
PART I
When the Himalayan peasant meets the he-bear in his pride,
He shouts to scare the monster who will often turn aside.
But the she-bear thus accosted rends the peasant tooth and nail,
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.

When Nag, the wayside cobra, hears the careless foot of man,
He will sometimes wriggle sideways and avoid it if he can,
But his mate makes no such motion where she camps beside the trail -
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.

When the early Jesuit fathers preached to Hurons and Choctaws,
They prayed to be delivered from the vengeance of the squaws -
'Twas the women, not the warriors, turned those stark enthusiasts pale -
For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.

Man's timid heart is bursting with the things he must not say,
For the Woman that God gave him isn't his to give away;
But when hunter meets with husband, each confirms the others tale -
The female of the species is more deadly than the male.

Man, a bear in most relations, worm and savage otherwise,
Man propounds negotiations, Man accepts the compromise;
Very rarely will he squarely push the logic of a fact
To its ultimate conclusion in unmitigated act.

Fear, or foolishness, impels him, ere he lay the wicked low,
To concede some form of trial even to his fiercest foe.
Mirth obscene diverts his anger; Doubt and Pity oft perplex
Him in dealing with an issue - to the scandal of the Sex!

But the Woman that God gave him, every fibre of her frame
Proves her launched for one sole issue, armed and engined for the same,
And to serve that single issue, lest the generations fail,
The female of the species must be deadlier than the male.

She who faces Death by torture for each life beneath her breast
May not deal in doubt or pity - must not swerve for fact or jest.
These be purely male diversions - not in these her honor dwells -
She, the Other Law we live by, is that Law and nothing else!

PART II
She can bring no more to living than the powers that make her great
As the Mother of the Infant and the Mistress of the Mate;
And when Babe and Man are lacking and she strides unclaimed to claim
Her right as femme (and baron), her equipment is the same.

She is wedded to convictions - in default of grosser ties;
Her contentions are her children, Heaven help him, who denies!
He will meet no cool discussion, but the instant, white-hot wild
Wakened female of the species warring as for spouse and child.

Unprovoked and awful charges - even so the she-bear fights;
Speech that drips, corrodes and poisons - even so the cobra bites;
Scientific vivisection of one nerve till it is raw,
And the victim writhes with anguish - like the Jesuit with the squaw!

So it comes that Man, the coward, when he gathers to confer
With his fellow-braves in council, dare not leave a place for her
Where, at war with Life and Conscience, he uplifts his erring hands
To some God of abstract justice - which no woman understands.

And Man knows it! Knows, moreover, that the Woman that God gave him
Must command but may not govern; shall enthrall but not enslave him.
And She knows, because She warns him and Her instincts never fail,
That the female of Her species is more deadly than the male!
