I'm curious. What are you doing? What do you WISH you could do? We don't typically do anything and I kinda want to, but I have no idea what.

Ack... and I realize that not all of us are from America. I love that about this site. It's so multinational. So I'll extend my question..

If you're not from America, what do YOU do on your country's independence celebration days?

My part of the state is in drought and all around us is in burn ban. No selling or putting off of fireworks. I am not a big fan, but I kinda like sparklers.

So, I will probably pass out on my netbook studying for my finals. :) Thank you fore fathers for this freedom. There is no sarcasm in that either.

Eh.. I kinda (sadly) wish I had something academic to do. Instead, I have books that I want to read/should read and just haven't had the time to (or when I did have the time, I didn't care to) read them.

August comes quickly, though. 18 hrs this semester!

So in a sad way.. I'm sorta jealous. If that makes you feel better ;)

;) Sure! I took 18 credit hours during my undergrad. Now I'm too old and tired.

Don't be jealous, waking up in my own drool helps me realize why I am still single :)

I might run off to the country for the weekend to avoid the firework shows. I do not like sudden explosions around me. Personal quirk.

Other than that I'm going to spend time in my garage tinkering on wood, house cleaning, bill paying, boring stuff like that.

School doesn't start until 22 August so ... I'm kinda at lose ends until then ...

=^..^=

We as English people get depressed as our Empire has deminished! Ner not really we have St Georges day which nobody really celebrates but instead we all celebrate St Patrick's day by getting very drunk! :)

lol! drool ain't all that bad. As long as one keeps to their own pillow! :p

I don't quite enjoy the home-fireworks. They just don't compare to professional shows. Unless two idiots decide to have a roman candle fight, then that's hilarious to watch!

My niece and I would entertain ourselves with the little poppers you can throw or step on.. but she's 6 hours away :(

Faeriecat, running out to the country sounds like the ideal plan.

Psymon, can I drink sparkling cider instead and entertain myself watching the drunk people try to walk and talk? haha
