What gives you the idea it was His Son?
Does God have a Son?
What did the Son do?
Where do you learn of any of these things
I am not sure where you are going with this question.

But, what does matter is the word of God and what the Word of God says.

The word of God affirms what God did and said. Yet the greatest gift from God to Man is HIS Son.

That was given to die for all to pay for sins HE did not do.

The great gift from God is HIS love which was demonstrated by the vicarious death of HIS SON. which John chapter says

HE is the WORD OF GOD.

Mormons make a similar claim that if you read the book of Mormon you will feel a burning in the bosom.
They claim they feel thid but are not yet Christians.
I cannot speak for Mormans only for myself but if you think God does not pout his spirit and his love into his children then you clearly do not know him

And yet Paul encountered Christ himself before he knew the gospel of Jesus Christ, Mary who has no record of knowing the scriptures encountered an angel and was chosen by God to bear his child,Moses knowing nothing of the hebrew God encountered God and was chosen to be his prophet. You doubt because you have not experienced it for yourself and because you do not know his love in this way, but those who know his love know what i speak of. His love is unlike anything in this world, it pierces your heart and soul it makes you fall head over heels for him over and over again it melts your heart and brings you into a state of warmth and a sense of home it is more than an emotion or feeling.

You see God is more than just the scriptures which you know yes but anyone can read and know the scriptures yet if you do not know his love and do not know him in this way what good does knowing the scriptures do you?
God spoke directly to these believers while revelation was still happening. He has not spoken to you directly as you claim

Everything we know about God, we only know about because of the gift of scripture as the Spirit opens it to those He has ordained to eternal life.

Gee, and all this time I thought God's greatest gift to man was His Son.

PS: In context, the scripture you quoted would be only speaking of the Old Testament since the New Testament hadn't been compiled yet.

Hmm the WORD made flesh. The greatest gift

You know nothing about what God has or hasn't done with me you simply believe according to your own thinking so therefore you assume none of this could possibly be true. But in fact he has spoken directly to me however it was only once but it was like a booming thunder and my was commanded to move. yes even this flesh bows to the voice of the Lord. however that is beside the point simply because one does not believe in such experiences does not mean they don't happen God is very interactive with me so i experience many things with him I do not live by the carnal but by the spirit and so therefore many of the things i experience and encounter are of the spirit

That is not the topic of the OP.
Your statement has no support, and is contra biblical
Actually if you recal i said his greatest gift is his love and that does not contradict scripture and if you think it does then you clearly do not know God. If you know the scriptures well then very good but if you have no understanding of his love and how he is love and how our entire relationship with him is of love then you are a carnal Christian you know the scriptures you pray you may even go to church but you do not know God

Why would you run up to a person on the street and hug them or their shadow?
Which Jesus are you speaking about?
Who is Jesus?
What did He do?
Is it the Christian Jesus?
The Mormon jesus?
The JW. Jesus?
I'm not sure I understand the question who Is JESUS?Surely there must be something I'm missing? My Answer though best I can do Is say that JESUS was the messiah who was the perfect sacrifice for a RIGHTEOUS loving GOD.JESUS, GOD In CHRIST came to earth and became a man to die for the sins of man.

Yeah... Iconoclast is making the point that Scripture confirms for us Who God and Jesus Christ are.

Through Scripture we see the history of humanity's relationship with God, and His with us.

Scripture affirms He has a plan for us. That He knows us and loves us. And that we are forgiven.

That we are known, loved, forgiven, and made for Him.

I do not believe you, nor am I called to believe you.
I believe scripture as that is the God given gift to believers.

Yes indeed.
Without the more sure word of prophecy we would be no different from heathen unbelievers

Hello seed time,
Do not over think it.
Without scripture we do not know there is a messiah,, God, sacrifice, righteousness.

😂Can you keep the law perfectly?
No of course not.
By the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified.
However scripture declares Jesus kept the law perfectly on behalf all the Father gave to Him
We are 100%dependant on scripture as the Spirit allows us to welcome it

Once again you only know
those people existed because of the special revelation given to us in scripture.
Those mentioned in your post had direct revelation from God. No one today receives direct revelation.
