Iceland is intriguing.
It too is a Constitutional Republic and multi-political party system.

Though I'd have to see if Babbel or Rosetta Stone offer a coarse on Icelandic language.

That's true, we are temporary dwellers here, marching on and upward to our permanent heavenly abode. Amen.

The grass always appears greener on the other side until you get up close and personal to it. Then you find, nah, not what I thought. It's just a bit of grass with heaps of weeds, like home. Then you check, and whoa, hang on, I've got weeds growing on myself. I betta stop and yank those out, don't want to carry those into any new country. 😒

expat lifestylers tend to be jet setters who go where the money is. when it dries up they are on their way to somehwere else, the world is your playground

if thats your situation, well good luck.

most immigrants though are not in those priveliged circumstances, they are actually leaving their homeland behind for a better life for them and their children , to be with family, or refugees fleeing war who dont really have a choice.

was just thinking of the refugees who come with only the shirt on their backs

because of political strife they have to leave

they may not even know what country they will end up in

spare a throught for those people

if your country get so bad you have to leave, then will pray for you, but most refugees cannot just pick and choose where they go

That‘s true.

But there’s also the Digital Nomads.

Folk on a retirement pension may choose to move to a country with a lower cost of living to make their pension spread further.

Some retirees will move to a location central to other countries they also intend to tour.

or they find its cheaper just to go on cruise ship for years visiting every port...as the cost of a retirement village/rest home is just about the same

but covid may have put a quash to that tho a lot of the remaining population is vaccinated or got immunity now theyve been exposed

I think its better to travel when you are younger (like in your 20s) than wait to you get old tho but that is my generation

Being ostensibly arrogant, I won’t let age stop me unless I fall apart. And God willing, that’s not gonna happen real soon 😬

I'm not doing any good finding Christian fellowship where I live, and I'm not one to sit around and watch time go by. I'd rather go to new places and meet new people. It doesn't take too long after making new aquaintances before your want to stand up for Christian ways causes others around you to become aware that you are a Christian. You never know what impact you have and how you may have had a hand in turning someone's head towards God.

you actually might have the calling to evangelise

in that case check out the Mercy ships

its not just YWAM going on missions, I was just thinking young in terms of wanting to experience life when you have the energy and not tied down with family and looking after dependents etc

I always wondered why the grey crowd were not getting out and evangelising more, it should be GWAM not just YWAMers. Plus oldies have the wisdom and experience

I think we all have a responsibility to evangelise, but I like to be an encourager to Christians on their faith walks too. I don't feel driven in any particular way, preferring to be helpful in any way I can, as others have done so to me. Seems to me there are so many distractions and traps to draw people away from Christianity, I'm focussing on keeping my self safe and my faith secure.

But it'd be nice to sail to the pacific islands, then over to South America and on to Europe, stopping off at various places on the way. I'd be up fot that. The Lord would cause me to run into people of his choosing..

i dont know if ships go that way you'd have to find out if any call in a port near you. Im sure if you can get to Fiji, there will be ships or boats that go from there to others otherwise you need to charter your own!

One couple in church sold up and bought a sailboat and went round the world, I recall they got stuck in the panama canal though.

Im not one for ocean travel I do get sea sick.
but they would quarantine you if they suspected you were bringing in any new diseases into the countries you are visiting.

However if you on a mercy ship, that wouldnt be a problem because all the medical supplies on board. Do you have medical training? though people can help on those ships who dont have those skills.

if you bringing precious cargo like books, or say christmas gifts for children like Samaritans purse, they will welcome you cos they need items and its expensive to ship or freight those to those places.

I know Tonga needs books for their village libraries. There are lots of christians in the islands, who need encuragment in their walk.

Try the MV Pacific Hope

You need to follow where the ships are going, check the shipping news in your nearest port when those ships come in. Apply to get on board...they always need volunteers

I don't know why anyone would want to leave the US... I don't. I've spent my life visiting all of the US when vacationing; the museums and various state parks etc. Nothing like it!

Go to Albuquerque, New Mexico and visit the balloon fiesta and go hot air ballooning.. go to a pow wow at Pine Ridge visit all the parks and sites up in that area and so very much more..

The U.S. is an amazing place, with amazing things to do and see.. you won't finish it in your lifetime.. :)
