Adam was not deceived but chose to eat of the forbidden tree. Why?

The phrase "who was with her" has led some folks to suggest that Adam was
standing beside his woman all thru the incident with the Serpent; but it
could simply mean they were still a cohabiting couple, viz: weren't split up
living apart.

eating the fruit. But the trickery in that particular passage is related to the
Serpent. In other words: Adam wasn't fooled by the Devil, instead, he was
made a fool by his wife.

Hmmm. It is Scripture, and you call it semantics? Adam was not deceived.
1 Tim. 2:14 says, “And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived, fell into transgression.”
You say he believed the lie.
Yet Scripture says and I affirmed that he was not deceived. You called it semantics. What did you mean to say?
That's an interesting perspective.
It's interesting that perhaps Eve's relationship to Cain (now I have a man!) may be the lynch pin for the first murder. And just to be clear: Adam throwing Eve under the bus (the woman you gave me!) certainly contributed to her scorn.
To wit: the woman as enemy of God's chosen is a reoccurring theme of scripture right until the end.
We should understand that statement in the context in which it is written.
Stop trying to teach her husband and usurp authority over him. Maybe she is being deceived by this stuff she was trying to teach and her husband is there to help her. But she is resisting the help that God has provided for her by not listening to her husband.

If we don't consider the context, we can miss the point Paul was making and invent a "theology" he never intended.
We should think "Paul, what did you mean by that? Can you explain?" and then imagine what Paul would most likely tell us based on the context of 1 Tim 2.

He lived out what he believed (a lie) and sinned. Even if he said to himself "I will rebel against God!" the lie is that one can do that and live.
Being deceived is not sin. Action is the evidence of belief. When compared to the Truth of the Lord, only lies lead to sin. Living out God's truth can never lead to sin.
One thing to note, though, is we do not know the origin of what Eve conveyed to the
serpent about what God had said regarding the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
And yet Eve was punished.
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.
What is a transgressor if not a sinner?

"..and fell into transgression".
That's an action statement.
She was deceived and then ate.
And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 1 Tim 2:14
So if I fall into transgression I have not sinned?

Transgression is an action.
here's the pattern:
Enemy lies > man hears > man believes > man acts > man sins
"Doers" of lies are sinners. In contrast, "doers" of the Word are believers. Ironically, they are both "believers" in that they believe what they are told. But before God, only those who follow His word are considered "believers". This is because the standard is the truth of God. There is no value apart from the standard.
Same problem mankind always has......love. When Christ was asked what is the greatest commandment he said love the Lord with everything and the second love your fellow man like yourself. This is what happens at the start we are even introduced to it the garden of Eden and Cain and Abel.
We know that if we love God we will keep his commandments and that is factual and is true. Adam loved Eve more than he loved God. In fact God directly addresses that. He says because you hearkened unto the voice of your wife. God said don't his wife said do and he listened to his wife. He loved her more. As we know the bible has declared if we love him we will obey. Adam had a love problem in that it was not a correct love in loving God first.
Eve had the same problem as John tells us don't love the world and what is in the world, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Eve saw that the fruit was pleasant to the touch, pleasant to the eye, and would make one wise.
Same problem man always has why God always addresses it first. When Christ addresses Ephesus he says remember from whence you are fallen you have left your first love for me. Man falls when he does not love God first. What does Christ say will happen if you do not repent your candlestick will be removed. If you do repent and love God first that first love the promise is that you will eat of the tree of life in the middle of the garden of God.
There is nothing new under the sun. Man did not love God first and was removed and kept from the tree of life. In Romans 1 God says that they love the creation more than the creator. Paul says if we have the gift of prophecy and all knowledge can understand all mysteries give all our goods to feed the poor, have faith to move mountains we are nothing without love.
Christ says the same in Matthew 7 not every one that says Lord Lord will enter. Even though they prophesied, cast out demons done works in his name. Christ says that unless you do the will of the father. If you love me you will obey me.
He says he never knew them. There was no intimacy a knowing which is what first love brings and is all about. Desiring to know your love to get close to your love to forsake all others but your love. No man can serve two masters either we will hate the one and love the other.
It is circular and complete, correct love where we love God first. John says if we love God we will love our brother. If we hate our brother we hate God. It is circular by this shall all men know you are my disciples because you love one another. If we love God then we love our brother if we love our brother then we love God.
A fall always comes from not loving God first. Why God sums it up all the law and commandments as love God first and foremost and even addresses love first when he had John write to the churches.
Adam and Eve fell because they had a love problem they did not love God first. Because they did not they did not obey him cause loving God brings obedience unto his words. If you love me you will obey me.
What in the world??? Eve acted and that action according to you was not sin.

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree
desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
There is a direct correlation with this:
1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love
of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust
of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world
is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Really?
"And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:14)
You say that "man sinned because (he) believed the lie", yet scripture plainly states that "Adam was NOT deceived".
Who is correct?

Apparently, others here have spotted your error as well. I hadn't read all of the comments before posting this myself.
Adam didn't choose to eat of the tree. Adam had not known Good and Evil until he bit into its fruit. All Adam knew is exactly what he confesses to God in the First Confession; that the woman that he loved gave it to him and he ate. He did not know the old serpent had tricked her. She Good and Evil though when she gave it to him and knew what she was doing was evil. She was possessed by the dragon though just like she says to God in the Second Confession. No excuses for the dragon though, he's doomed and damned, first cursed, he will eat the dust and is destined to death.
Who forced him to?
He knew good in knowing God and God's creation, which was in fact, very good
The woman gave it to him, he did not know what he was doing and just trusted her and ate it very simply. Then his eyes were opened and he knew shame and fear for the very fist time.Who forced him to?
