*HOW DANGEROUS IS IT?

The risk to the general public is low at this time, a U.S. public health official told reporters at a briefing on Friday.

Monkeypox is a virus that can cause symptoms including fever, aches and presents with a distinctive bumpy rash.

It is related to smallpox, but is usually milder, particularly the West African strain of the virus that was identified in a U.S. case, which has a fatality rate of around 1%. Most people fully recover in two to four weeks, the official said.

The virus is not as easily transmitted as the SARS-CoV-2 virus that spurred the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Experts believe the current monkeypox outbreak is being spread through close, intimate skin on skin contact with someone who has an active rash. That should make its spread easier to contain once infections are identified, experts said.

Walmart expands its drone-delivery service to reach 4 million households

Walmart says that 90% of Americans live within range of this drone service from their stores. They can promise a 30 minute delivery of items by drone and the charge is $3.99. You don't have to tip. This will eliminate virtually all delivery people. They will not be able to compete with the price or the speed.

Fewer old cars driving all over the city will also be an improvement that many people will like.

Think about that as the jobs disappear. Of course you can get a job manufacturing drones, but no doubt those will soon be replaced by robots.

You might think you will be able to get a job at Walmart overseeing the drone delivery, but let's be real, they are competing with Amazon.com and you know Amazon is going to have robots pulling the items from the shelf, and will try to automate the entire process.

With gas at $6 and depreciation of your car at over $0.50 per mile, why would anyone drive to Walmart or the store to pick up anything. That in turn will eliminate the cashier jobs. You might be able to eliminate 90% of cashier jobs and 90% of delivery jobs.

Less foot traffic in the store means less clean up, less maintenance of the bathroom, you can have a much smaller parking lot.

Small businesses in strip malls, or next to the Walmart will dry up even worse (last I heard 40% are on the verge of bankruptcy).

You are about to see a whole lot of low income jobs disappear.

But it will be worse. Half the reason many people have cars is because they need them to do the shopping. Eliminate all these jobs and the need to go to the store and you will see car sales decline. Car sales are perhaps the biggest engine in the economy. if that shrinks GDP shrinks and you will have a recession. They have to raise interest rates in order to deal with inflation, but that in turn will make financing a car or house much more expensive, so that also will be the cause of a major slowdown in the economy. Many people are about to lose their jobs.

Look at the proliferation of useless degrees that are being offered at college. Suppose you have a degree in ethnic studies of some group. Now you are looking for a job. There are no jobs for that degree. The jobs that you do go to it will be clear to them that whatever your interests are it isn't to work for them. So then, what is going on?

1. There is a strong push to get every kid to go to college. They use statistical evidence to show that you are more likely to get a job and earn more over your lifetime. This is the problem with people who don't understand math and statistics. If you are more likely you have to drill down what that means. Maybe it means that 80% of college grads will earn more than people who didn't get a 4 year degree. Another way of saying that is that 20% won't.

2. Here is a little known fact that everyone ignores. If you spend $240,000 to go to a four year college after four years you are $240,000 poorer.

3. Let's say what you really want to do is construction. You go to a technical school for two years and become very good at being a plumber, or mechanic, or electrician, etc. You then work for someone for two years. After four years the money you earned has fully compensated for the money spent to learn your profession. You are now $240,000 ahead of the person with the useless four year degree and you have 2 years of experience in your profession on your resume. Over the next few years you amass a new pickup truck and all the tools necessary. You have the skills to do the work on your own and you are licensed and insured. So you become a partner in the business that you have been working with. You may be 26, running your own crew of three guys and making well over $100k a year.

But by steering you into a useless four year degree in ethnic studies, or gender studies, or some other joke they keep you broke and you cannot compete with these big corporations. This way instead of being an owner and a small businessman you will be a serf and a cog in the wheel. You are disposable and replaceable.

4. That is the context. Now let's look at affirmative action. What is the harm of sending a kid with lower scores to an elite university? Thomas Sowell points out that in this elite environment the kid sinks, he / she isn't prepared, is intimidated, and as a result they direct them to useless degrees like ethnic studies. They went to Harvard, MIT, or Yale and got a degree and think they are hot stuff when in fact they were simply there to pad their numbers. You left after 4 years with nothing of value. Even if it was a full scholarship you wasted 4 years of your life. And you were the best and brightest of the minorities. The elites made sure you would not compete with them in the future. They have created a system where they will sift out the 20% of the top performing minorities and keep them from competing with them in the future.

Yep, I think they are just ignoring the less important ones like rape.

We have entered into bizarro world where taking a selfie in the capitol results in solitary confinement, objecting at a school board meeting gets you classified as a domestic terrorist, but taking $500 worth of goods from a store is not a prosecutable offense, rape is not a crime they are going to pursue, and looting and other felonies are also routinely released from prison.

When it comes to police reform, President Joe Biden is now caught in a trap of his own making. In an attempt to appease the radical base of his party before the midterm elections, the president recently signed an executive order that would establish a national registry of officers who’ve been discharged for misconduct and restrict the transfer of certain kinds of equipment to law enforcement agencies.

Such actions mark a reversal from the President’s previous position in support of more funding and training for law enforcement officers. These actions will likely have disastrous consequences on Democrats – as the Left’s aggressive, anti-police movement has backfired.

He had an opportunity to make a full commitment to law enforcement officers Thursday night in front of a national television audience. He focused on gun control instead and never mentioned them.

This is true, but he is undeniably the most competent person in his administration. Look at Harris and her absurd word salads! Look at Buttigieg who has overseen the biggest spike in fuel costs, massive breakdown in our supply chain, and a collapse of our air traffic! Look at his press secretary! Look at the DOJ, we are seeing a huge spike in crime nationwide and their focus is on grandmas taking selfies in the capitol! He nominated a woman to the Supreme court that will have to rule on laws that directly impact women and yet she can't define what a woman is.

He may have alzheimers and yet, amazingly, he is more competent than anyone else in his administration.
