I have found this person in particular to create the most outlandish and inaccurate posts of any of them. He is consistent though. You will find him pretty much damaging himself while trying to damage others, in just about every thread he appears in. I have him on ignore, but for the purposes of this particular thread, I am viewing and responding to some of his posts. Just some because they are so egregious, that in my view, they should be deleted by a mod.

He goes way past just disagreeing and hurls hatred and spiritual insults that are inspired by something dark.
Tell me. Has anything I said itched your ears? Have I provided verses for all of the things I have said? Certainly my inspiration is not from something dark, but rather from God. So you should be careful what you say because if you don’t understand who or what you’re slandering then you could be on standing on the wrong side.

2 Tim 4:3,4
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

You’re doing exactly what Isaiah 5:20 says.

Isaiah 5:20
20Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

The very title of this thread is indicative of the attitudes of some people. Is baptism "necessary" they ask, hoping to avoid it if possible. The Ethiopian eunuch should be our example; he couldn't wait to get in that water.

And it's obvious Philip taught him baptism as an important part of the gospel. How else would the eunuch know he needed to get baptized?

No it is not

Romans 6 says we were baptized (immersed) into Christ in death,

it does not say we were baptized in water.

Your right water baptism is a SYMBOL.. Rpm 6 is talking of the actual event which water baptism symbolises.

as for the resurrection.

John 6: 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

You wait was short lived. being raided (ressurected) is based on the fact that we BELIEVE (have faith)

But I do not expect you to acknowledge this any more that you acknowledge your lies about us and baptism.
Belief in Jesus is required for eternal life, meaning your soul and spirit with be alive long before you’re “raised up” on the last day. From my perspective the “raising up” on the last day is not linked to believing in Jesus, but rather an additional thing Jesus will do.

Consider this passage:

John 11:24-26
24Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Notice Jesus said He is the “resurrection and the life” which are two different things. Jesus said those believing in Him will have eternal life, not that they’ll be resurrected for believing.

There’s too many verses that teach water baptism is for resurrection:

Romans 6:4,5
1 Peter 3:21
1 Corinthians 15:29

I don’t think there any verses that just plainly say you must believe in Jesus to be resurrected.

That’s why Jesus said you must be born again of water and Spirit in John 3:5 to enter the kingdom. The kingdom is the millennial kingdom.

If you’ll see Revelation 20:4-6 you’ll see that the first resurrection occurs before the millennial kingdom. Starting to connect the dots a bit more I hope.

Ah you don’t understand the New Testament. I never said water baptism is necessary for eternal life. Eternal life of the soul comes through faith in Christ alone, but resurrection comes through water baptism. The apostles were clear on that point in Romans 6 and 1 Peter 3. Start studying.

Your continual slander of my character won’t age well.
Please explain how a person can acquire eternal life without being resurrected?

Salvation is believing in Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord and King thus, receiving His Blood and Body.

Born Again is by water and Spirit.... this is where water baptism and Holy Spirit Baptism play a role.

All we have to do is do what Jesus Christ told us to do.... Repent and Believe in Him and receive Eternal Life, drink His Blood and eat His Flesh; be water baptized in His Name - in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and receive the Holy Spirit so that we can be empowered to be Christ's witnesses and not be alone as orphans on the Earth... The Holy Spirit is our comforter, guide, teacher, instructor, counsellor, the Spirit of Truth, revealer of the mysteries and secrets of God!

I don't think it. I'm just saying that's the attitude of a lot of folks who want to avoid baptism. I knew that would probably confuse people.
I have never met anyone who wants to avoid baptism.. Except those who are afraid to be in front of crowds and speak, Which we just had a separate baptism for them.

I keep hearing of these peopel who want to avoid baptism.. I guess I am confused as to who they are

I do think water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism both play a role in being "Born Again" which comes after receiving the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ for Salvation.

Jesus did tell Nicodemus, "you must be born again of water AND Spirit to even see the Kingdom of God."

Water baptism must be an important role.... Jesus told His disciples to water baptize believers.

When Jesus was water baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, there was water AND the Holy Spirit present.

I do believe Water Baptism fully immersed and Holy Spirit Baptism fully immersed are both part of the process of being Born Again (separate from receiving Salvation but are evidence of Salvation received).

Sorry, if my post is a bit confusing. I'm a concrete thinker... I break info down into steps. Abstract thinkers have a hard time understanding all my "steps".....lol! :giggle: Steps help me understand.

except for water baptism part again I agree.. I believe water baptism is a command as as a new dsciple even one of the first commands we should follow

if we want to be born again. we must be born of the spirit. Jesus lays out what this means and how it is done in John 3.. Water baptism is not a part of it..

As for HS Baptism. That is the salvation process. first comes the washing (baptism) then the HS comes into us (the anointing)

it can be confusing for some I think. I know I was confused about it for years..lol

They didn't think they needed to get baptized. After all, salvation is by faith alone and baptism is just a mere formality; why bother.
well that is true.

But what did they think about Gods other commands? Like going to church, giving, praying without ceasing, getting into the word. discipline? etc etc?

they are all just as important than baptism, are they the same about those commands?

I feel an endless and pointless debate coming on. Not into that. Have a good one.

I believe eternal life is given to disembodied souls. Consider 1 Corinthians 15:29 where people were attempting to get water baptized on behalf of dead people who, presumably, never got water baptized.

1 Cor. 15:29
29If these things are not so, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?

To me this reads like rhetorical questions. We know the answer is people will be resurrected. Thus the reason for the resurrection is the water baptism.
